Unichain is an Ethereum Layer 2 network from Uniswap Labs, built on the OP Stack and part of the Optimism Superchain. It is an optimistic rollup: transactions run on the L2, and compressed data is posted back to Ethereum, which secures the network. It is EVM-compatible, so Ethereum wallets and contracts work with little change. The design aims for fast confirmations and fairer transaction ordering, and it uses trusted execution environments (TEEs) to limit the impact of MEV. The mainnet went live in February 2025.

Our data lists no native Unichain token. As on most Ethereum L2s, you pay fees in ETH, and they are usually lower than on Ethereum mainnet. At the time of writing, DeFi TVL on Unichain is about $25.2 million. The much larger TVL figures beside individual dApps are protocol-wide totals across all their chains, not Unichain alone.

Unichain is built around DeFi. Our list of 52 dApps includes the Uniswap family (V2, V3 and V4) for swaps and liquidity, and lending markets such as Morpho Blue, Euler V2, Compound V3 and Venus Core Pool. Spark Liquidity Layer and Spark Savings cover stablecoin yield and allocation. Vault curators such as Steakhouse Financial, Gauntlet and 9Summits sit on top of the lending markets. Bridges and messaging tools including LayerZero V2, Across, Stargate V2 and Hyperlane connect Unichain to other networks.

Frequently asked questions

What is Unichain?

Unichain is an Ethereum Layer 2 network created by Uniswap Labs and built on the OP Stack as part of the Optimism Superchain. Its mainnet launched in February 2025. It is aimed at DeFi activity such as swaps, lending and cross-chain liquidity.

Is Unichain EVM compatible?

Unichain is an optimistic rollup built on the OP Stack, so it works with Ethereum tooling and smart contracts written for the EVM. Transactions are processed on the L2 and then posted back to Ethereum. Existing Ethereum wallets and apps generally work with it.

Does Unichain have its own token, and how are fees paid?

Our data lists no native token for Unichain. As with most Ethereum Layer 2 networks, fees are paid in ETH and are usually lower than on Ethereum mainnet. Actual costs vary with network demand, so check your wallet before you confirm.

Which dApps can I use on Unichain?

The site lists 52 dApps on Unichain. They include Uniswap V2, V3 and V4, Morpho Blue, Euler V2, Venus Core Pool, Spark Liquidity Layer, Across and Stargate V2. Most are DEXes, lending markets, bridges and vault curators.

How much value is locked on Unichain?

At the time of writing, DeFi TVL on Unichain is about $25.2 million. That is far below the TVL figures shown for individual protocols, because those cover every chain a protocol runs on. Use the chain figure for Unichain itself and the protocol figure for the whole protocol.

How do I get funds onto Unichain?

Most users bridge ETH or stablecoins from Ethereum or another supported chain using a bridge such as Across, Stargate V2 or Hyperlane. Check that the bridge supports Unichain and the asset you want to move, and send a small test amount first. Bridges carry smart contract risk, so use established ones.

What is the largest dApp on Unichain by TVL?

LayerZero V2 is the largest dApp on Unichain by total value locked, with $17.9B across all the chains it supports. It is followed by Morpho Blue ($10.9B) and USDT0 ($3.36B). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.

Which dApp on Unichain has the highest DappsAtlas score?

Uniswap V4 has the highest score at 8.5/10, ahead of Uniswap V3 (8.4) and LayerZero V2 (8.0). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.

How many dApps are on Unichain?

DappsAtlas tracks 55 dApps on Unichain. Of these, 55 have a full review and 43 report value locked, $47.7B in total, counting value on every chain they support.

What are the most common types of dApps on Unichain?

DEXes (10), Cross Chain Bridge (7) and Risk Curators (7) are the largest categories on Unichain, by number of projects.

Which dApps on Unichain grew the most this week?

Among dApps with at least $1M locked, LayerZero V2 had the biggest 7-day TVL gain (+10.6%) and 9Summits the biggest drop (−9.4%). Combined TVL moved +4.1% over the same seven days.

What is the average score for dApps on Unichain?

The 53 rated dApps on Unichain average 6.8 out of 10. Of these, 9 score 8 or higher and 5 score below 5.
