A token locker is a smart contract service that holds tokens or liquidity pool (LP) tokens for a fixed period and releases them only when a condition is met, usually a date. Projects use lockers to make commitments checkable onchain: the team's allocation cannot be sold early, and the liquidity behind a trading pair cannot be withdrawn without notice. Investors and traders often look for these locks as part of their own due diligence.

The basic flow is simple. A project deposits tokens or LP tokens into the locker contract, chooses an unlock date, and shares the public lock page so anyone can verify it. Many platforms add vesting schedules, staking pools, airdrop tools, or token creation. Revenue generally comes from fees paid by project teams, either a flat fee in the native coin or a share of the locked tokens, and from add-on services. At the time of writing, UNCX Network V2 holds about $140M in value locked, Team Finance about $61M and GoPlus Locker V3 about $30M, which makes them the largest on this list.

When comparing lockers, start with chain support and whether the locker handles your asset type, for example V2 LP tokens, V3 positions, NFTs or Solana and Hedera tokens. Then look at the unlock options (date only, or also target price), vesting features, fees, and how clear the public lock pages and documentation are. Track record matters too: UNCX Network (V2 and V3), Team Finance, FlokiFi Locker and GoPlus Locker are the more established names here, while smaller or thinly documented options such as Pancakelock deserve extra caution. A lock reduces one specific risk and is not an endorsement of any token. This page covers tools for project teams, not gambling products.

Frequently asked questions

What is a token locker?

A token locker is a smart contract that holds tokens or liquidity pool (LP) tokens until a set unlock date, or in some cases a target price. While locked, the project team cannot withdraw them. Anyone can check the lock onchain, which is why projects use lockers to show they are not planning to pull out liquidity.

Why do crypto projects lock liquidity?

A liquidity lock reduces the risk of a rug pull, where developers remove the liquidity from a trading pool and leave holders with tokens that cannot be sold. It does not tell you whether the project is sound. Check how much of the liquidity is locked, when it unlocks, and whether the locked tokens are the main pool's LP tokens.

Does a locked token mean a project is safe?

No. A lock only covers the specific tokens placed in the contract. The team may hold other tokens, the token contract may have risky functions, and the lock may expire soon. Treat a lock as one data point alongside the contract audit, the token's distribution and the team's track record.

What is the difference between locking and vesting?

Locking is mainly about keeping tokens in place until a date, while vesting releases tokens gradually on a schedule. Teams often use vesting for team, investor and advisor allocations so that supply reaches the market over time. Several lockers on this list, including UNCX Network V2, Team Finance and DaVinciGraph, offer both.

How do token lockers make money?

Most lockers charge project teams a fee, which can be a flat fee in the chain's native coin or a small share of the locked tokens, depending on the platform. Some also earn from extra tools such as token creation, staking pools, airdrops or listing and promotion services. Check each platform's current fee page, because rates can change.

Which chains do token lockers support?

Most lockers on this list work on EVM chains such as Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base, Arbitrum and Polygon. StakePoint runs on Solana and DaVinciGraph on Hedera, so those suit projects on those networks. Pick the locker that supports the chain your token trades on, and check whether it handles the kind of liquidity position you hold, such as V2-style LP tokens or V3-style positions.

What is the largest token locker by TVL?

UNCX Network V2 is the largest token locker by total value locked, with $135M. It is followed by Team Finance ($56.6M) and GoPlus Locker V3 ($29.2M). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.

Which token locker has the highest DappsAtlas score?

Team Finance has the highest score at 7.8/10, ahead of UNCX Network V2 (7.6) and UNCX Network V3 (7.4). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.

How many token lockers does DappsAtlas track?

DappsAtlas tracks 20 token lockers. Of these, 20 have a full review and 12 report value locked, $263M in total.

What chains do most token lockers run on?

BNB Chain is the most common, with 13 of 20 token lockers, followed by Ethereum (11) and Arbitrum (9). 50% are deployed on more than one chain.

Which token lockers grew the most this week?

Among token lockers with at least $1M locked, UNCX Network V2 had the biggest 7-day TVL gain (+2.7%) and StakePoint the biggest drop (−57.4%). Combined TVL moved −0.3% over the same seven days.

What is the average score for token lockers?

The 14 rated token lockers average 6.3 out of 10. Of these, 0 score 8 or higher and 2 score below 5.
