Staking dApps let you put proof-of-stake tokens to work helping secure a blockchain and earn rewards in return. Most of the larger projects on this page are liquid staking protocols: you deposit a token such as ETH, SOL, AVAX or HYPE and receive a receipt token that tracks your stake and can be used in other DeFi apps. Others, like SSV Network and Obol, are infrastructure that helps run Ethereum validators across several operators.
The protocols stake deposits with validators or node operators and pass the rewards on to token holders. They usually earn by taking a share of those rewards, often called a protocol or performance fee. Some add extra sources of yield, such as MEV tips on Jito Liquid Staking or an auction among validators on Marinade Liquid Staking. Liquidity depends on the receipt token, which can trade at a slightly different price from the asset it represents.
When comparing, start with the chain and the asset you hold, since each protocol covers a narrow set. Then look at fees, how decentralized the validator set is, audit history, how deep the receipt token's liquidity is, and where you can use it. Total value locked gives a rough sense of scale: ether.fi Stake, Jito Liquid Staking and Kinetiq kHYPE are among the largest in their ecosystems at the time of writing. Staking carries smart contract and slashing risk, and this page is not financial advice.

Frequently asked questions
What is a liquid staking dApp?
Staking means locking a proof-of-stake token, such as ETH or SOL, to help secure a network in return for rewards. Liquid staking protocols do this on your behalf and give you a receipt token, like JitoSOL or mETH, that you can hold or use in other DeFi apps while the original asset stays staked.
Where does staking yield come from?
Rewards come from the network itself, from newly issued tokens and transaction fees. Some add extra sources, such as MEV tips on Jito Liquid Staking. Rates change with network conditions and the protocol's fee, so check the live figure on the app rather than relying on an old number.
Is liquid staking safe?
No. Risks include smart contract bugs, validator penalties (slashing), the receipt token trading below the value of the underlying asset, and governance or admin-key risk. Liquid tokens can also be used as collateral elsewhere, which adds another layer of risk. Only stake what you can afford to lose.
What is the difference between native staking and liquid staking?
Native staking means delegating directly to a validator, and your assets stay in your own wallet. Liquid staking issues a tradable token in exchange, which gives flexibility but adds contract and market risk. Marinade Liquid Staking and Phantom SOL both offer native and liquid options on Solana.
What are SSV Network and Obol, and how are they different from other staking dApps?
Distributed validator technology splits a validator's key across several operators, so one machine failing or misbehaving does not take the validator offline. SSV Network and Obol are the main examples in this list. They are infrastructure for stakers and operators, and they usually do not issue a token you hold as a receipt.
Can I stake Bitcoin with these dApps?
Yes. Babylon Protocol is built to let holders stake native BTC without wrapping or bridging it, and StackingDAO lets users stake STX or BTC on the Stacks network. These products work differently from Ethereum or Solana staking, so read how the rewards are generated before committing funds.
What is the largest staking dApp by TVL?
SSV Network is the largest staking dApp by total value locked, with $11.7B. It is followed by Binance staked ETH ($8.64B) and ether.fi Stake ($4.22B). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.
Which staking dApp has the highest DappsAtlas score?
Jito Liquid Staking has the highest score at 8.0/10, ahead of Marinade Liquid Staking (8.0) and ether.fi Stake (7.8). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.
How many staking dApps does DappsAtlas track?
DappsAtlas tracks 244 staking dApps. Of these, 244 have a full review and 159 report value locked, $36.3B in total.
What chains do most staking dApps run on?
Which staking dApps grew the most this week?
Among staking dApps with at least $1M locked, SparkDEX stFLR had the biggest 7-day TVL gain (+44.2%) and Hubra Staked SOL the biggest drop (−19.9%). Combined TVL moved −2.2% over the same seven days.
What is the average score for staking dApps?
The 156 rated staking dApps average 6.0 out of 10. Of these, 2 score 8 or higher and 22 score below 5.
