Hatom Liquid Staking Review 2026: sEGLD on MultiversX

Hatom Liquid Staking lets EGLD holders stake on MultiversX and receive sEGLD, a liquid token, instead of locking funds. It is a small but heavily audited module within the wider Hatom suite.

By the DappsAtlas editorial team · Updated

Our verdict on Hatom Liquid Staking

7.0/10

Hatom Liquid Staking suits EGLD holders on MultiversX who want to earn staking rewards while keeping a liquid token, sEGLD. Its main strength is the long audit list across the module and the wider Hatom suite. The main caveat is the small TVL of about $2.9 million and the lack of published fee and yield figures reviewed. Check rates and unstaking terms in the app and start small.

What is Hatom Liquid Staking?

Hatom Liquid Staking is a module of the Hatom protocol on MultiversX. It lets users stake EGLD and receive Staked EGLD (sEGLD), so the value of their stake is not locked up.

DefiLlama has tracked it since July 2023 and shows about $2.9 million in TVL on MultiversX. Hatom also runs a lending protocol, an isolated protocol, USH lending, a stablecoin facilitator, a TAO bridge and an HTM booster, and its token is HTM.

The site lists multiple audits for the liquid staking module, including Runtime Verification, CertiK and Arda, plus penetration testing from Halborn and CertiK. Reward rates and fees are not given publicly reviewed.

How Hatom Liquid Staking works

Staking EGLD on MultiversX normally ties up the tokens. Hatom's liquid staking module takes EGLD from users and issues sEGLD in return, a token that represents the staked position.

Because sEGLD is a normal token, holders can in principle keep it, trade it or use it in DeFi while the underlying EGLD continues to be staked. The project does not detail which uses are supported or how rewards are reflected in the token.

Hatom also runs a lending protocol on the same app, so sEGLD may interact with other Hatom products. The project does not confirm this, so check the app.

6 features

Key features

01

EGLD liquid staking

Users stake EGLD and receive sEGLD, so the staked value is not locked up.

02

Part of Hatom suite

The module sits inside the Hatom app, alongside a lending protocol, an isolated protocol and USH lending.

03

Multiple audits

The app lists audits from Runtime Verification, CertiK and Arda for liquid staking, plus penetration testing and DevSecOps coverage.

04

Lending integration

The Hatom lending app offers supply and borrow markets and a USH pool, which is a related product rather than staking itself.

05

USH stablecoin

Hatom describes USH as an over-collateralized stablecoin pegged to USD, with a minting market in the USH pool.

06

Multi-language interface

The interface offers English, French, Chinese, Spanish, Korean, Romanian and Portuguese, plus a devnet mode.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Lets EGLD holders stake without locking up the value of their tokens
  • Several audits and penetration tests listed for the liquid staking module
  • Part of an established MultiversX DeFi suite with lending and a stablecoin
  • Listed on DefiLlama since July 2023
  • Interface available in seven languages

Watch out for

  • TVL of about $2.9 million is small, so liquidity for sEGLD may be limited
  • Exposure is concentrated on a single chain, MultiversX, and a single staked asset, EGLD
  • Fee, commission and APY figures are not shown
  • Smart-contract risk remains despite the audits, especially where sEGLD is reused in the lending protocol
  • Homepage is mostly interface labels, so documentation on unstaking terms is not confirmed here

Hatom Liquid Staking fees

Fees are not published publicly available for this review. That includes any staking commission, reward rate and unstaking costs.

Users should check the Hatom app for current rates and terms, and expect to pay normal MultiversX network transaction fees.

Is Hatom Liquid Staking safe?

The liquid staking module lists smart-contract audits from Runtime Verification, CertiK and Arda, penetration testing from Halborn and CertiK, and DevSecOps from CertiK. The wider Hatom suite lists further audits from firms such as Peckshield, ABDK, Hacken, Halborn and Astrarizon. Audits reduce risk but do not guarantee safety.

Users still face smart-contract risk, risk that sEGLD trades below the value of EGLD, and risk tied to MultiversX itself. The project does not mention any incidents, and they do not describe governance or admin controls.

Who Hatom Liquid Staking is for

This is for existing EGLD holders in the MultiversX ecosystem who want staking exposure without locking funds, and who are comfortable with DeFi smart-contract risk. It is less relevant to people who do not hold EGLD.
