High Risk is our category for dApps where the chance of losing your whole deposit is well above that of mainstream DeFi. It covers referral-based matrix and binary plans, fixed-return investment programs, countdown games, token ecosystems with paid packages and meme launchpads. Many run on smart contracts on chains like BNB Chain, Ethereum and Tron, but being on-chain says nothing about whether the model is sound.
Most of these projects make money by taking a cut, a tax or an entry fee, and by paying earlier users with funds from newer ones. Turbo Loop offers fixed-term USDT plans with a deep referral system, Doubleway charges a 0.08 ETH entry and rewards recruiting, and Utopia applies a 5% buy and sell tax. Fomo3D rewards key holders from a pot that depends on fresh buyers. CoPump is different, a no-code meme token launcher, but its income and your returns still depend on speculative trading. When payouts rely on new money arriving, late participants usually bear the losses.
When comparing entries, start with where the yield comes from and whether that source is explained clearly. Then look at the track record: Forsage and Bigwhale are listed mainly as cautionary cases, given the charges and collapse linked to them. Compare TVL at the time of writing, though Turbo Loop's roughly $4.1M and Fomo3D's roughly $2.9M say little about safety. Also weigh team transparency, contract audits, how much control admins keep, and the legal status where you live. You must be 18 or older, or 21 where required, and should confirm that online gambling or investment schemes are legal in your jurisdiction before taking part.

Frequently asked questions
What does a High Risk dApp mean?
It is our label for dApps where the business model, contract design or track record carries a much higher chance of losing your whole deposit than ordinary DeFi. The group includes referral-driven schemes, fixed-return investment plans, countdown games and meme token launchpads. A listing here is a warning flag and not an endorsement.
Are high-risk dApps just Ponzi schemes?
Not always, but several traits overlap with Ponzi and pyramid structures: fixed daily or monthly returns, payouts that depend on new deposits, and income tied to recruiting others. Bigwhale was widely reported as a Ponzi scheme that collapsed in October 2023, and US authorities have charged Forsage's founders over an alleged $340 million Ponzi scheme. Treat any dApp with these traits with great caution.
Does running on a smart contract make a dApp safe?
Yes. A smart contract can run exactly as written and still be built so that late joiners fund earlier ones. Code being public does not mean the economics are sound, and an audit, if one exists, only checks the code, not whether the model is sustainable. Contracts can also contain bugs or admin controls that put funds at risk.
What are the warning signs to look for?
Look for guaranteed or fixed returns, multi-level referral rewards, pressure to bring in friends, anonymous teams, vague documentation and a reliance on a native token for payouts. Check whether the yield comes from a clear source such as trading fees or interest paid by borrowers. If you cannot explain where the money comes from, assume the risk is high.
Is Fomo3D a game or an investment?
Fomo3D is a game where players buy keys and a countdown timer decides when the round ends, so the outcome depends on other players continuing to enter. Most participants should expect that they may lose money, and the pot is not guaranteed to grow. It is a gamble in practice and should only involve money you can afford to lose.
Is it legal to use these dApps?
Gambling-style dApps are for adults only: you must be at least 18, or 21 where local law requires it. Online gambling and some investment schemes are restricted or banned in many places, so check the rules where you live before connecting a wallet. Do not try to get around geo-restrictions, age checks or identity checks.
Can I use a high-risk dApp safely?
Some users interact with them anyway, usually with small amounts they can lose entirely. If you do, use a separate wallet, never grant unlimited token approvals, and do not borrow money or recruit others. Reading the contract details and the project's history first matters more than any headline return.
