Soneium is an Ethereum Layer 2 network created by Sony Block Solutions Labs with Startale, the team behind Astar Network. It is built on the OP Stack, so it is EVM-compatible: it batches transactions off Ethereum's main chain and posts the data back to Ethereum for security. Sony has positioned it as a bridge between Web2 and Web3 audiences, with a focus on creators, fans, gaming and entertainment.
Soneium does not have a native token in our data, and fees are paid in ETH as on other OP Stack rollups. Costs are generally lower than on Ethereum's main chain, though they vary with network use. Our data puts DeFi TVL on Soneium at about $8.9 million at the time of writing, which makes it a small ecosystem for now.
The 33 dApps we list here are a mix of multichain protocols and a few native projects. Velodrome V2 and V3 and QuickSwap provide established DEX liquidity, while Kyo Finance, SoneFi AMM and Sonex are Soneium-native exchanges. For lending there are Sake Finance and Untitled Bank, and Yay! is a social app from nanameue. Bridges like LayerZero V2, Stargate V2 and Across help with moving assets. Many of the native apps are early-stage, so read each review and check audits before depositing.

Frequently asked questions
What is Soneium?
Soneium is an Ethereum Layer 2 network developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs together with Startale. It is built on the OP Stack and is aimed at entertainment, creators, fans and community use cases as well as DeFi.
Is Soneium compatible with Ethereum and the EVM?
Yes. Soneium is built on the OP Stack and is EVM-compatible, so Ethereum smart contracts and wallets generally work with it. Developers can reuse Solidity code, and users interact with it much like other Ethereum rollups.
Does Soneium have its own token, and what do I pay fees in?
Soneium has no native token of its own listed in our data. Fees are paid in ETH, as is typical for OP Stack rollups. Check the current fee setup in your wallet before sending a transaction, since costs can change.
How big is the Soneium DeFi ecosystem?
Our data shows the chain's DeFi TVL at about $8.9 million at the time of writing, which is small next to major Layer 2s. Much of the activity comes from multichain protocols like Velodrome and QuickSwap, plus a few native apps such as Kyo Finance and Sake Finance.
Which dApps can I use on Soneium?
Native options in our list include Kyo Finance, SoneFi AMM and Sonex for swaps, Sake Finance and Untitled Bank for lending, and waveX for perpetuals. Velodrome V2 and V3 and QuickSwap also support the chain. Most native apps are small and early-stage, so check each one's audits and liquidity first.
How do I move funds to Soneium?
Cross-chain protocols such as LayerZero V2, Stargate V2, Across and Symbiosis list many networks, but you should confirm in each app that Soneium is currently supported. Always verify the official site and the contract addresses before approving a transfer, and start with a small amount.
What are the risks of using Soneium dApps?
Smart contract bugs, thin liquidity and bridge risk all apply, and the smaller Soneium-native apps carry more of them. Some projects have very low TVL or no listed audits. Only use funds you can afford to lose, and this page is not financial advice.
What is the largest dApp on Soneium by TVL?
LayerZero V2 is the largest dApp on Soneium by total value locked, with $17.9B across all the chains it supports. It is followed by Aave V3 ($15.8B) and Morpho Blue ($10.9B). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.
Which dApp on Soneium has the highest DappsAtlas score?
Aave V3 has the highest score at 8.6/10, ahead of Uniswap V4 (8.5) and LayerZero V2 (8.0). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.
How many dApps are on Soneium?
DappsAtlas tracks 38 dApps on Soneium. Of these, 38 have a full review and 25 report value locked, $46.1B in total, counting value on every chain they support.
What are the most common types of dApps on Soneium?
DEXes (10), Lending (4) and Cross Chain Bridge (3) are the largest categories on Soneium, by number of projects.
Which dApps on Soneium grew the most this week?
Among dApps with at least $1M locked, LayerZero V2 had the biggest 7-day TVL gain (+10.6%) and Quickswap V4 the biggest drop (−9.7%). Combined TVL moved +5.6% over the same seven days.
What is the average score for dApps on Soneium?
The 32 rated dApps on Soneium average 6.3 out of 10. Of these, 5 score 8 or higher and 3 score below 5.
