opBNB is a layer-2 network built for BNB Smart Chain using the OP Stack, the open-source framework behind Optimism. It is an optimistic rollup: transactions are executed off the main chain, then bundled into batches and posted back to BNB Smart Chain as data. It is EVM-compatible, so Solidity contracts and familiar wallets and tooling carry over, and its large block capacity is meant to keep costs low during busy periods.
opBNB has no native token of its own. Users pay gas in BNB, and fees are typically a small fraction of what a transaction might cost on a congested layer 1, though they still depend on demand and on the cost of publishing data to BNB Smart Chain. Moving funds in usually means bridging from BNB Chain, which adds a step and some bridge risk.
The ecosystem is small. DeFi TVL on the chain was about $1.1M at the time of writing, and our directory lists 30 dApps with opBNB support. Many are multi-chain projects that added it as one of several networks. The listings include lending from Segment Finance and Kinza Finance, perpetual futures on KiloEx, bridge routes such as APX Bridge, and consumer apps like the social chat dApp Friend3, the Aria Game play-and-earn title and the Alphaorbeta polling network.

Frequently asked questions
What is opBNB?
opBNB is a layer-2 network for BNB Smart Chain built on the OP Stack. It runs as an optimistic rollup, processing transactions off-chain and posting the data back to BNB Smart Chain, so it aims to offer cheaper and faster transactions than the main chain.
Is opBNB compatible with the EVM?
Yes. opBNB is EVM-compatible, so Solidity smart contracts and common Ethereum-style wallets and developer tools generally work with it. Developers can often redeploy contracts from BNB Chain or other EVM networks with few changes.
What token do I use to pay fees on opBNB?
opBNB uses BNB as its gas token, so there is no separate native token for the network. Fees are typically very low because of the large block capacity, but they can vary with network demand and the cost of posting data to the layer 1.
How do I get funds onto opBNB?
You generally bridge assets from BNB Smart Chain to opBNB using a supported bridge, then add the network to your wallet. Always check the official network details and the bridge's reputation first, and start with a small test amount. Bridges are a common target for exploits.
Which dApps are available on opBNB?
Our listings include lending protocols such as Segment Finance and Kinza Finance, the perpetuals exchange KiloEx, the social dApp Friend3, the game Aria Game, and the polling network Alphaorbeta. Several bridges, including APX Bridge, also list opBNB support.
Is opBNB safe to use?
No. Fees are low and the chain is tied to BNB Smart Chain, but it still carries smart-contract, bridge and sequencer risks. Total value locked is small, at about $1.1M at the time of writing, so liquidity can be thin. Do your own research and only commit what you can afford to lose.
What is the largest dApp on Op_Bnb by TVL?
Binance CEX is the largest dApp on Op_Bnb by total value locked, with $127B across all the chains it supports. It is followed by LayerZero V2 ($17.9B) and Gate ($5.91B). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.
Which dApp on Op_Bnb has the highest DappsAtlas score?
LayerZero V2 has the highest score at 8.0/10, ahead of PancakeSwap AMM V3 (7.8) and Gate (7.7). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.
How many dApps are on Op_Bnb?
DappsAtlas tracks 37 dApps on Op_Bnb. Of these, 37 have a full review and 26 report value locked, $152B in total, counting value on every chain they support.
What are the most common types of dApps on Op_Bnb?
DEXes (10), Bridge (3) and Centralized Exchanges (3) are the largest categories on Op_Bnb, by number of projects.
Which dApps on Op_Bnb grew the most this week?
Among dApps with at least $1M locked, LayerZero V2 had the biggest 7-day TVL gain (+10.6%) and APX Bridge the biggest drop (−93.1%). Combined TVL moved −4.2% over the same seven days.
What is the average score for dApps on Op_Bnb?
The 26 rated dApps on Op_Bnb average 6.3 out of 10. Of these, 1 score 8 or higher and 3 score below 5.
