Symbiosis Review 2026: Cross-Chain Swaps Across 50+ Networks

Symbiosis is a cross-chain swap and bridge protocol that routes trades across 50+ networks, including Bitcoin, Solana, TON and Tron. It offers wide coverage and says it is non-custodial and audited, but as with any bridge, users take on smart-contract risk.

Good

Our verdict on Symbiosis

7.2/10

Symbiosis suits users who need to move value between unusual pairs of chains, such as Bitcoin, Solana, TON or Tron, in one step, and developers who want a cross-chain swap API. Its main strengths are broad coverage and route comparison. The main caveat is the usual bridge risk: only two audits are listed, TVL is modest, and fees are not published, so check each quote, start small and read the audit reports before using larger amounts.

What is Symbiosis?

Symbiosis is a cross-chain bridge, swap and liquidity protocol. The homepage says it has been live since 2021 and connects Bitcoin, Solana, Tron, TON and 50+ EVM and non-EVM networks. DefiLlama lists it since March 2022 under cross-chain bridges.

The pitch is that users can swap any supported token for another on a different chain in one flow, with routing that compares options and shows the best amount received. The project reports about $10B in total volume, 5M transactions and 855K unique addresses. These are self-reported figures and were not independently verified here.

DefiLlama shows about $8.6 million in TVL, down roughly 1.9% over seven days, and lists the SIS token and two audits. The listed chain count is large, which is the product's main draw and also its main source of complexity.

How Symbiosis works

Symbiosis acts as a routing layer for cross-chain trades. When you request a swap, it checks different routes and liquidity sources, including partner protocols, and compares them by the amount you would receive. You can pick a route or let the system choose.

Under the hood, the protocol aggregates decentralized exchange liquidity and uses liquidity pools to move value between networks, rather than only wrapping tokens. Liquidity providers supply the pools and, according to a post from the project, earn from the swaps that pass through them.

The same infrastructure is exposed to developers through an API, a JavaScript SDK and an MCP interface, so other apps and AI agents can offer cross-chain swaps without building their own routing.

6 features

Key features

01

Single-step bridge and swap

Move or swap supported tokens across 50+ chains in one step instead of bridging and then swapping separately.

02

Smart routing

Each quote compares routes and liquidity sources, ranks them by amount received, and lets users pick a route or leave the choice to Symbiosis.

03

Non-EVM and Bitcoin support

The homepage lists native BTC support, alongside chains such as Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Zcash and XRP Ledger.

04

Partner liquidity

Partners listed include Chainflip, Socket, 1inch, 0x, LI.FI and Kyber, which widen the available routes.

05

API, SDK and MCP

Developers can add cross-chain swaps through a REST API, JS SDK or MCP for apps and AI agents.

06

Liquidity provider rewards

Liquidity providers earn from swaps routed through the protocol, so yield depends on volume.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Very broad network coverage, including Bitcoin, Solana, TON, Tron and many EVM chains
  • Single-step swap and bridge with route comparison by amount received
  • Self-described as non-custodial, with two audits listed on DefiLlama
  • Homepage metadata says no KYC is needed
  • Developer tools (API, SDK, MCP) and integrations with partners such as LI.FI and Socket
  • Operating since 2021 according to the project, with a multi-year track record

Watch out for

  • TVL listed on DefiLlama is about $8.6 million, modest for a protocol that reports $10B in cumulative volume
  • Bridges carry smart-contract and routing risk, and only two audits are listed in the data
  • Fee levels are not published, so total cost is only visible at quote time
  • Many supported networks and routes mean more moving parts and more places for something to go wrong
  • The SIS token has a small market cap (ranked around #1710 in one listing), so it is a thinly followed asset
  • Partner-liquidity routes depend on third-party protocols, adding exposure beyond Symbiosis itself

Symbiosis fees

Symbiosis does not publish a fee schedule in the material reviewed. The homepage describes the service as having low fees and the best available rates, but gives no figures.

In practice, the cost of a cross-chain swap usually combines a protocol or routing fee, liquidity provider share, and gas on the source and destination chains. Users would see the expected amount received in the quote inside the app before confirming, and should compare that against alternatives.

Is Symbiosis safe?

Symbiosis describes itself as non-custodial and audited, and DefiLlama lists two audits. Public sources reviewed do not include audit firms, findings, bug bounty details or an incident history, so readers should check the official documentation for these.

Bridges concentrate risk in smart contracts, cross-chain messaging and liquidity pools, and the sector has a history of large exploits. Using many chains and partner liquidity sources adds to that surface. Move only what you can afford to lose, test with small amounts, and verify the website address before connecting a wallet. Regulatory status is not described publicly.

6 steps

How to get started with Symbiosis

  1. 1

Open the official Symbiosis app from the official website and check you are on the right domain.

  2. 2

Connect a wallet that supports your source network, such as an EVM wallet, a Solana wallet or a TON wallet.

  3. 3

Pick the source chain and token, then the destination chain and token.

  4. 4

Review the quote and available routes, noting the amount you will receive and any network fees.

  5. 5

Start with a small test transfer before moving larger amounts.

  6. 6

Confirm in your wallet and track the transaction until funds arrive on the destination chain.

Who Symbiosis is for

Symbiosis is for DeFi users who regularly move assets between different blockchains, including non-EVM networks like Bitcoin, Solana and TON, and for developers who want to embed cross-chain swaps through an API or SDK. It is less suited to beginners who do not yet understand bridge risk.

Symbiosis FAQs

What is Symbiosis?

Symbiosis is a cross-chain liquidity protocol that aggregates decentralized exchange liquidity across EVM and some non-EVM networks. Users can swap a token on one chain for a token on another in a single flow. DefiLlama files it under cross-chain bridges.

Is Symbiosis safe?

The homepage describes it as non-custodial and audited, and DefiLlama lists two audits. That does not remove risk. Bridges rely on smart contracts and cross-chain messaging, so only move amounts you can afford to lose and read the audit reports yourself.

Does Symbiosis require KYC?

The homepage metadata says no KYC. Rules can still apply to you depending on where you live, and some partner front ends or wallets may have their own requirements. Check local regulations before using it.

Which blockchains does Symbiosis support?

The homepage lists 50+ networks. Named examples include Ethereum, Solana, BNB, Tron, Base, Arbitrum, TON, Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Monero, XRP Ledger, Zcash, Hyperliquid, Optimism, Polygon and Avalanche. Support for a specific token on a specific chain should be confirmed in the app.

What is the SIS token?

SIS is the protocol's token according to DefiLlama. the public information available here do not detail its full utility, so check the official documentation for how it is used before buying it.

How much does Symbiosis cost?

Fees are not detailed. The homepage claims low fees and best rates, and the app compares routes by amount received. The quote shown before you confirm is the reliable guide to cost.
