Taiko is a Layer 2 network on Ethereum that works as a based rollup and aims to be Ethereum-equivalent through a ZK-EVM design. Instead of relying on a single centralized sequencer, it leans on Ethereum's own validators to order transactions, and results are settled back to Ethereum. Because it is EVM-equivalent, Solidity contracts and familiar wallets and developer tools should carry over with little change.
The native token is TAIKO, which is linked to the Taiko DAO and protocol governance. As an Ethereum rollup, Taiko is meant to offer lower fees than Ethereum mainnet, with gas paid in ETH as on Ethereum. Fees vary with network and Ethereum activity, so check the cost in your wallet before confirming a transaction.
The ecosystem on Taiko is small. At the time of writing, DeFi TVL is about $207,631, and many of the 29 dApps we list are multichain protocols that added Taiko as one deployment among several. Examples include KiloEx for perpetual futures, Loopring for zkRollup trading, Symmetric as a small DEX, and Everclear and CrossCurve for cross-chain transfers. Minterest has closed, and CrossCurve reported an exploit in early 2026, so read each dApp's page and risk notes before using it.

Taiko FAQs
What is Taiko?
Taiko is an Ethereum Layer 2 network built as a based rollup with a ZK-EVM design. Transactions are processed on Taiko and settled to Ethereum, and the project aims to keep Ethereum's security and behavior while making use cheaper.
Is Taiko EVM compatible?
Yes, Taiko aims to be Ethereum-equivalent, so Solidity contracts and standard Ethereum tooling should work with little or no change. This is why multichain apps such as KiloEx, Loopring and Everclear can list Taiko alongside other networks.
What is the TAIKO token used for?
TAIKO is the network's native token and is associated with the Taiko DAO and protocol governance. Check the project's current documentation for exactly how it is used, since token roles can change over time.
Which dApps are available on Taiko?
Our site lists 29 dApps on Taiko, including KiloEx, Loopring, Symmetric, Minterest, CrossCurve, Everclear and Copump. Several are multichain protocols that deploy on Taiko as one of many networks, so the range of apps is narrower than on larger chains.
How much value is locked in Taiko DeFi?
At the time of writing, DeFi TVL on Taiko is about $207,631, which is small. Some dApps on this page show much larger TVL figures, but those numbers cover all the chains the protocol runs on, not Taiko alone.
Are dApps on Taiko safe to use?
Treat each dApp separately and check its status first. Minterest has permanently closed and only allows withdrawals, CrossCurve had a bridge exploit in early 2026, and Copump is a high-risk meme launchpad. Low-liquidity venues and bridges carry extra risk, so use only funds you can afford to lose.
What is the largest dApp on Taiko by TVL?
LayerZero V2 is the largest dApp on Taiko by total value locked, with $16.7B across all the chains it supports. It is followed by Gate ($5.84B) and Uniswap V3 ($1.51B). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.
Which dApp on Taiko has the highest DappsAtlas score?
Uniswap V3 has the highest score at 8.4/10, ahead of LayerZero V2 (8.0) and Gate (7.7). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.
How many dApps are on Taiko?
DappsAtlas tracks 31 dApps on Taiko. Of these, 31 have a full review and 25 report value locked, $24.6B in total, counting value on every chain they support.
What are the most common types of dApps on Taiko?
DEXes (8), Cross Chain Bridge (4) and Lending (4) are the largest categories on Taiko, by number of projects.
Which dApps on Taiko grew the most this week?
Among dApps with at least $1M locked, LayerZero V2 had the biggest 7-day TVL gain (+8.9%) and Bitrue the biggest drop (−8.0%). Combined TVL moved +4.3% over the same seven days.
What is the average score for dApps on Taiko?
The 26 rated dApps on Taiko average 6.0 out of 10. Of these, 2 score 8 or higher and 5 score below 5.
