Scroll is a layer-2 network built on Ethereum. It is a zk-rollup: transactions are executed and batched off the main chain, then a zero-knowledge proof is posted to Ethereum to show the batch is valid. The design splits the work into layers for settlement on Ethereum, transaction ordering and execution, and proof generation. Scroll is built to be EVM-compatible, so Solidity contracts and standard Ethereum wallets and tooling work with few changes.

SCR is the network's native token, mainly tied to governance. Everyday transaction fees on Scroll are generally paid in ETH, and they are typically lower than on Ethereum mainnet because many transactions share the cost of one proof. At the time of writing, DeFi TVL on Scroll is about $7.1 million, so activity here is small compared with larger layer-2 networks.

The Scroll ecosystem is best known for ether.fi products, including ether.fi Stake for liquid staking, EtherFi Borrowing Market for borrowing against crypto, and EtherFi Cash Liquid, a Visa card for spending crypto. Aster Bridge handles deposits for the Aster perpetuals exchange. This page also lists multichain names such as Aave V3, Uniswap V3, SushiSwap, LayerZero V2 and Stargate V2, which operate across many networks, so check each listing to see what is available on Scroll. We list 91 dApps in total.

Frequently asked questions

What is Scroll?

Scroll is a layer-2 network that runs on top of Ethereum. It batches transactions off the main chain and posts them to Ethereum with zero-knowledge proofs, which aims to lower fees and speed up confirmations while relying on Ethereum for security.

Is Scroll compatible with Ethereum and the EVM?

Yes, Scroll is designed so that Ethereum smart contracts and developer tools work with little or no change. Wallets and apps built for Ethereum generally work on Scroll, though you need to bridge assets over first.

What is the SCR token used for?

SCR is Scroll's native token, mainly associated with governance of the network. Transaction fees on Scroll are generally paid in ETH, so you will want a small ETH balance on Scroll to use apps.

How do I get funds onto Scroll?

Mostly by bridging assets from Ethereum or another supported network. Bridges such as Aster Bridge are listed on this page, and multichain options like Stargate V2 and Hyperlane may also be relevant. Check each listing for current Scroll support before sending funds.

Is it safe to use dApps on Scroll?

Yes, there is real risk. Smart contract bugs, bridge failures, and changes to the rollup's own infrastructure can all lead to losses. Start with small amounts, use well-known apps, and remember that nothing here is financial advice.

Why do some listed apps have huge TVL when Scroll's DeFi TVL is small?

Centralized exchanges such as Binance, OKX, Bitget and Gate are listed because they support many networks. Their large TVL figures reflect exchange reserves across all chains, not activity on Scroll, which had about $7.1 million in DeFi TVL at the time of writing.

What is the largest dApp on Scroll by TVL?

Binance CEX is the largest dApp on Scroll by total value locked, with $127B across all the chains it supports. It is followed by OKX ($28.4B) and LayerZero V2 ($16.7B). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.

Which dApp on Scroll has the highest DappsAtlas score?

Aave V3 has the highest score at 8.6/10, ahead of Uniswap V3 (8.4) and OKX (8.0). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.

How many dApps are on Scroll?

DappsAtlas tracks 99 dApps on Scroll. Of these, 99 have a full review and 85 report value locked, $222B in total, counting value on every chain they support.

What are the most common types of dApps on Scroll?

DEXes (25), Lending (10) and Centralized Exchanges (9) are the largest categories on Scroll, by number of projects.

Which dApps on Scroll grew the most this week?

Among dApps with at least $1M locked, Hotcoin had the biggest 7-day TVL gain (+419%) and PoolTogether V5 the biggest drop (−21.9%). Combined TVL moved −3.1% over the same seven days.

What is the average score for dApps on Scroll?

The 83 rated dApps on Scroll average 6.3 out of 10. Of these, 7 score 8 or higher and 11 score below 5.
