AI dApps are products that combine artificial intelligence with blockchain tools or crypto payments. In this category you will find decentralized compute and inference networks, on-chain AI agents that handle DeFi tasks, privacy-focused AI platforms, agent payment systems, and a few ordinary AI software products that sit close to the crypto space. The group is broad, so two entries can have very little in common beyond the AI label.
The business models differ by type. Compute networks such as Chutes, io.net, Golem and Salad connect developers who need GPUs or inference with suppliers who rent out hardware, and they earn through usage fees, often with token rewards for suppliers. Agent and vault products like ZyFAI, Velvet and HeyElsa automate DeFi actions and typically take fees on managed funds or activity. Platforms such as Venice and OpenArt sell access through subscriptions, credits or a token tied to API use. Network-level projects like MorpheusAI pay out token emissions to contributors, which is a different thing from customer revenue.
When comparing, start with what the product actually does and who pays for it. Check whether it is custodial, what permissions an agent needs, and which chains it runs on. For compute networks, look at pricing, API compatibility and how supplier rewards are funded. For TVL-based products, weigh the amount locked against how long the contracts have operated and whether they have been audited. Leaders by score on our list include OpenArt, Venice, Salad, ZyFAI, Chutes and MorpheusAI, but a high score is not a guarantee. Any product involving trading or tokens carries risk, and readers must be 18 or older (21 where required) and check the rules where they live.

10 AI Crypto Tokens to Know in 2026AI crypto tokens can be tied to compute, data, agents, or AI infrastructure—but a project’s purpose does not guarantee its token has lasting utility. Here are 10 tokens to research, what their projects do, and what to check before taking any risk.

Content Authenticity in the AI Era: How to Verify What You SeeContent authenticity is the question of whether a piece of media, text or data is what it claims to be, and who made it. AI tools make that question harder to answer by eye, so readers need a few stable checks and an understanding of what each check can and cannot prove.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as an AI dApp?
On this page it covers a mix of things: decentralized GPU and inference networks (Chutes, io.net, Golem, Salad), AI agents that act on-chain (ZyFAI, HeyElsa, Velvet), privacy and payment layers for agents (Venice, Mind Network, Kite), and ordinary AI software such as OpenArt. Not every entry uses a blockchain, and some have no token at all.
Do all of these AI projects run on a blockchain?
No. Several entries, including OpenArt, Klavis AI, Hue and Micdrop, are conventional software products with subscriptions or business pricing and no on-chain component. We list them because they sit close to the crypto-AI space, but you should check each one's own pricing and terms.
How do AI dApps make money?
Mostly through usage fees and token incentives. Compute and inference networks charge developers per token or per GPU hour and pay suppliers, often partly in a native token. Agent and vault products usually take a fee on managed funds or trades. Subscription tools like OpenArt charge monthly credits. Token emissions can also fund rewards, which is not the same as real revenue.
Is it safe to let an AI agent trade or move my crypto?
Not automatically. Self-custodial products such as ZyFAI and Velvet are described as non-custodial, which means you keep control of your keys, but smart contract bugs, bad agent decisions and faulty price data can still cause losses. Start with small amounts, read what permissions you are granting a wallet, and be wary of any agent that asks for broad spending approval.
Does TVL matter for AI dApps?
No. TVL measures assets locked in a protocol's contracts and only applies to products that hold deposits, such as yield agents or vaults. Chutes and Morpheus show TVL figures at the time of writing, but GPU networks, subscription tools and B2B software often show none. A high TVL does not prove a product is useful or safe.
Do I need to buy a token to use these services?
Not directly. Tokens like MOR, VVV, IO, GLM or FHE are tied to network incentives or access, and their prices can swing sharply and may not reflect how much the service is actually used. Diem is one example of a token designed to represent API capacity rather than pure speculation. This page is not financial advice, so research any token carefully before buying.
What is the largest AI dApp by TVL?
Chutes is the largest AI dApp by total value locked, with $44.1M. It is followed by MorpheusAI ($11.4M) and ZyFAI ($8.63M). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.
Which AI dApp has the highest DappsAtlas score?
How many AI dApps does DappsAtlas track?
DappsAtlas tracks 223 AI dApps. Of these, 223 have a full review and 12 report value locked, $74.6M in total.
What chains do most AI dApps run on?
Which AI dApps grew the most this week?
Among AI dApps with at least $1M locked, MorpheusAI the biggest drop (−32.1%). Combined TVL moved −12.1% over the same seven days.
What is the average score for AI dApps?
The 115 rated AI dApps average 6.0 out of 10. Of these, 0 score 8 or higher and 11 score below 5.
