Sablier Flow Review 2026: Constant-Rate Token Streaming

Sablier Flow lets a sender pay a recipient at a constant per-second rate and top up the balance over time. It suits recurring pay such as salaries and contributor budgets, but usage is still modest.

Our verdict on Sablier Flow

7.2/10

Sablier Flow is a good fit for DAOs, small businesses and contributors who want recurring onchain pay that accrues continuously and can be topped up as needed. Its strengths are the simple rate-based model, wide chain coverage and listed audits. The main caveats are modest usage, unpublished fee details and the need for senders to keep streams funded. Test with a small stream first and check each network's deployment before committing larger budgets.

What is Sablier Flow?

Sablier Flow is a payments product from Sablier, which describes itself as infrastructure for onchain token distribution used by DAOs and businesses for vesting, payroll and airdrops. Flow focuses on one job: paying at a constant rate, with the sender topping up the balance over time.

DefiLlama lists it under Payments, with about $542,000 in total value locked and a 7-day change of -4.2%. It has been tracked since April 2025, runs on more than 25 networks, and has no native token. Two audits are listed.

The model suits teams that pay contributors or staff continuously rather than in lump sums. The main trade-off is that the sender carries the job of keeping the stream funded, and the project does not publish fee details on its main pages.

How Sablier Flow works

Flow is built around a rate rather than a schedule. The sender chooses a token amount per unit of time, and the recipient's claimable balance grows every second at that rate. The sender deposits tokens into the stream so there is something to pay out.

Because there is no fixed end date, the stream is open-ended. The sender tops up the balance over time to keep it running. If the balance is not refilled, the stream can only pay out what has been deposited. This is different from a vesting schedule, where the full amount is locked up front and released on a fixed timetable.

The recipient can withdraw what has accrued to their wallet. Everything runs in smart contracts on the chosen network, so the app is an interface and the funds are held by the contracts rather than by Sablier as a company.

6 features

Key features

01

Constant-rate streaming

A sender sets a rate and the recipient's claimable balance grows continuously with time. No fixed end date or total amount is needed up front.

02

Top-up funding

The sender can add funds to a running stream whenever needed, keeping pay going without re-creating it.

03

Wide chain coverage

DefiLlama lists more than 25 networks, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, Polygon and several newer chains.

04

Part of a wider suite

The homepage describes Sablier as infrastructure for onchain token distribution, covering vesting, payroll and airdrops, so Flow sits alongside related tools.

05

Web app dashboard

Streams and balances are tracked through the Sablier app, which acts as a dashboard for senders and recipients.

06

Audited contracts

DefiLlama lists two audits for the project, which is a baseline signal for contract review.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Per-second payment rate gives recipients a continuously growing claimable balance.
  • Open-ended design suits ongoing pay without fixing a total amount or end date.
  • Available on more than 25 networks, including major Ethereum layer-2s.
  • No native token, so using it does not require buying into a governance asset.
  • Two audits are listed, and the product comes from an established token-distribution brand.

Watch out for

  • Total value locked is small (about $542,000), so it has limited usage compared with larger payment protocols.
  • Flow streams have no fixed end date, so the sender must keep topping them up or the stream runs dry.
  • The project does not publish a fee schedule for Flow on its main pages, so costs are unclear until you use the app.
  • Support spans more than 25 networks, which means more deployments for a user or treasury to verify and manage.
  • No native token, so there is no governance or incentive layer for users to take part in.
  • Only two audits are listed, and the project does not publish details of scope or findings in the places we reviewed.

Sablier Flow fees

The main pages do not publish a fee schedule for Flow. Users should expect to pay network gas on whichever chain they use, and any protocol-level charge would be shown in the app when creating or managing a stream.

One search snippet for a separate Sablier airdrop campaign shows a claim fee of $1.99, but that belongs to the airdrop product and should not be assumed to apply to Flow. Check the app's confirmation screen before signing.

Is Sablier Flow safe?

DefiLlama lists two audits for the project, though scope, auditors and findings are not detailed in the sources reviewed. Funds sit in smart contracts rather than with a custodian, so the main risks are contract bugs, wrong recipient addresses and running a stream out of funds. Verify the network and contract in the app before depositing.

The project does not publish regulatory status or team details on the pages reviewed. Treasuries sending significant sums should do their own review of the audit reports and consider starting with a small test stream.

6 steps

How to get started with Sablier Flow

  1. 1

Decide the token, the payment rate per period and who will receive the stream.

  2. 2

Open the Sablier app and connect a wallet on the network where your token lives.

  3. 3

Choose Flow when creating a stream and enter the recipient address and rate.

  4. 4

Deposit enough tokens to cover the period you want, and review gas and any fees shown.

  5. 5

Confirm the transaction, then monitor the stream's balance in the dashboard.

  6. 6

Top up before the balance runs out, or adjust the rate if the arrangement changes.

Who Sablier Flow is for

Flow suits DAOs, crypto-native companies and freelancers paid in tokens who want salary or budget payments to accrue second by second. It is less suited to anyone who needs a fixed vesting schedule with a locked total, or to users who want a protocol with a token and incentive programme.

Sablier Flow FAQs

What is Sablier Flow?

Sablier Flow is a product from Sablier for paying someone at a constant rate over time, with the sender topping up the balance as needed. It is aimed at recurring onchain payments such as payroll and contributor pay.

How does Sablier Flow differ from vesting?

Sablier's description is to pay at a constant rate and top up over time. A sender sets a rate, funds the stream, and the recipient can withdraw what has accrued. Unlike a fixed vesting schedule, it has no preset end date.

Does Sablier Flow have a token?

No. DefiLlama lists the token as none, and the project does not point to a native token for Flow. You pay and receive existing tokens that the stream supports.

Which networks does it run on?

DefiLlama lists Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, BNB Chain, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche, Gnosis, Linea, Scroll, Sonic, Unichain, zkSync Era, Sei and many others. Check the app for the current list before sending funds.

What does Sablier Flow cost?

The main pages do not publish a Flow fee schedule. Gas costs on the chosen network apply. One search snippet for a separate airdrop page shows a claim fee of $1.99, but that relates to airdrops, not to Flow streams.

Is Sablier Flow audited?

Two audits are listed for the project on DefiLlama. As with any smart contract, an audit reduces risk but does not remove it, so start with small amounts and read the audit reports yourself.
