Flare is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain that treats data as a core feature. Protocols such as the Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO) are built into the network. They bring prices and other off-chain information on-chain, so apps do not have to depend only on outside oracle services. Because it is EVM-compatible, Solidity contracts and familiar Ethereum-style wallets and tools work on it.

FLR is the native token. It is used to pay transaction fees and can be staked, and several liquid staking apps issue receipt tokens against it. Fee levels and token prices change, so check them live before you transact. A distinctive feature is FAssets, an over-collateralized bridge that lets XRP, BTC and DOGE holders bring those assets into Flare DeFi as wrapped tokens.

At the time of writing, Flare's DeFi TVL is about $174.3 million, and we list 39 dApps for it. Native apps include the SparkDEX and Enosys DEXes, the Kinetic and Mystic Finance Lending markets, and Sceptre Liquid for staking. Firelight offers FXRP-backed cover. Vault and yield tools such as Upshift, Clearstar, Spectra and Steer Protocol also operate on Flare alongside other chains. Review each app's risks before depositing, because smart contracts can fail and wrapped or bridged assets add their own risks.

Frequently asked questions

What is Flare?

Flare is an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain built around data. It has protocols built into the network that bring in prices and other off-chain information, such as the Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO). The aim is for apps to use data from other chains and the wider internet.

Is Flare compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine?

Yes. Flare is EVM-compatible, so developers can use Solidity smart contracts and Ethereum-style tools. Users generally connect with the same kinds of wallets they use for other EVM chains. Check the official Flare documentation for the current network settings.

What is the FLR token used for?

FLR is Flare's native token and is used to pay network fees. It can also be staked, and apps such as Sceptre Liquid and SparkDEX stFLR offer liquid staking receipts for it. Prices change constantly, so check a live market source rather than relying on a fixed figure.

What are FAssets on Flare?

FAssets is an over-collateralized bridge on Flare. It lets holders of XRP, BTC and DOGE mint wrapped versions of those assets to use in Flare DeFi. Related apps on the chain include Firelight, which uses staked FXRP for cover, and Enosys Loans, which accepts XRP-backed collateral.

Which dApps are the main ones on Flare?

Flare-native apps include SparkDEX (V4 and V3.1) and Enosys AMM V3 for trading, Kinetic and Mystic Finance Lending for lending, and Sceptre Liquid for staking. Firelight offers insurance, and Upshift and Clearstar offer vault and risk-curation products. LayerZero V2, Morpho Blue and USDT0 appear in some rankings, but they run on many chains, so their large TVL figures are not Flare-only.

How big is the Flare DeFi ecosystem?

At the time of writing, DeFi TVL on Flare is about $174.3 million, spread across the 39 dApps we list. That is a small ecosystem next to the largest chains. It is concentrated in a few areas: FAssets, lending, liquid staking, and DEXes. TVL moves daily, so treat it as a snapshot.

What is the largest dApp on Flare by TVL?

LayerZero V2 is the largest dApp on Flare by total value locked, with $17.9B across all the chains it supports. It is followed by Morpho Blue ($10.9B) and Gate ($5.91B). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.

Which dApp on Flare has the highest DappsAtlas score?

LayerZero V2 has the highest score at 8.0/10, ahead of Morpho Blue (8.0) and Team Finance (7.8). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.

How many dApps are on Flare?

DappsAtlas tracks 41 dApps on Flare. Of these, 41 have a full review and 38 report value locked, $39.5B in total, counting value on every chain they support.

What are the most common types of dApps on Flare?

DEXes (7), Lending (4) and Centralized Exchanges (4) are the largest categories on Flare, by number of projects.

Which dApps on Flare grew the most this week?

Among dApps with at least $1M locked, SparkDEX stFLR had the biggest 7-day TVL gain (+41.7%) and Clearpool TPOOL the biggest drop (−24.5%). Combined TVL moved +4.6% over the same seven days.

What is the average score for dApps on Flare?

The 36 rated dApps on Flare average 6.6 out of 10. Of these, 2 score 8 or higher and 0 score below 5.
