FAssets Review 2026: Flare's Over-Collateralized XRP Bridge

FAssets is an over-collateralized bridge on Flare that lets holders of non-smart-contract assets such as XRP, BTC and DOGE mint wrapped versions for DeFi. DefiLlama shows about $197 million in TVL, but no audits are listed and fee details are not published publicly.

Good

Our verdict on FAssets

6.8/10

FAssets suits XRP, BTC and DOGE holders who want to use those assets in Flare DeFi without relying on a traditional custodial wrapper. Its main strengths are the over-collateralized design and a TVL near $197 million. The main caveats are that DefiLlama lists no audits, fees are not published publicly, and the protocol has a short track record since September 2025. Read the developer documentation and start small.

What is FAssets?

FAssets is a bridge protocol on Flare. It lets users mint wrapped versions of non-smart-contract assets, such as XRP, BTC and DOGE, so they can be used in DeFi. DefiLlama describes it as trustless and over-collateralized, backed by on-chain collateral and Flare's data oracles.

DefiLlama lists it under Bridge on the XRPL and Flare chains, with about $196.7 million in TVL and a 7-day change of -1.3%. It has been listed since 25 September 2025. The project's X account is FlareNetworks.

The homepage is titled Bring XRP into DeFi and has Mint, My Tags, Pools and Bridge sections, plus a dashboard for TVL, circulating supply, minting cap, core vault, minting limits and proof of reserve. In the scraped text the dashboard values show as zero, so live figures are not confirmed from the page.

How FAssets works

FAssets lets people bring assets from chains without smart contracts, such as XRP, into DeFi. A user locks the original asset with an agent and mints a wrapped version on Flare. That wrapped token can then be used in Flare's DeFi apps.

The system is over-collateralized. Agents back the minted tokens with on-chain collateral worth more than the assets they hold, and Flare's data oracles supply the price and state data the contracts use. If a user wants the original asset back, they redeem the wrapped token.

The homepage also shows minting limits (hourly and daily), a minting cap, a core vault and a proof-of-reserve panel comparing total supply to reserves. The exact mechanics of agents and the core vault are not detailed publicly, so check the developer documentation.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Brings non-smart-contract assets like XRP, BTC and DOGE into DeFi on Flare.
  • Over-collateralized design, backed by on-chain collateral.
  • Uses Flare's data oracles for pricing and state data.
  • Homepage shows a proof-of-reserve panel and minting limits.
  • DefiLlama TVL of about $197 million suggests meaningful usage.
  • Developer documentation is linked from the homepage.

Watch out for

  • DefiLlama lists no audits for the protocol, and public sources include no audit reports.
  • Wrapped assets rely on agent collateral and Flare's data oracles, so oracle or collateral failures are real risks.
  • Homepage dashboard figures showed placeholder zeros in the scraped text, so live stats could not be confirmed from the page itself.
  • The project does not state minting or redemption fees, or the agent fee model.
  • Only two chains are listed (XRPL and Flare), so the protocol is tied closely to Flare's ecosystem.
  • The protocol has been listed only since September 2025, so its track record is short.

FAssets fees

The project does not publish minting, redemption or agent fees. The homepage shows Mint and Pools sections, which is where users would likely see current terms before confirming a transaction.

As with any bridge, users should also expect network gas costs on Flare and on the origin chain. Check the Flare FAssets developer documentation for the fee model.

Is FAssets safe?

DefiLlama lists zero audits for FAssets, and public sources include no audit reports, so users cannot verify independent review from this data. The project does not name the team or describe incident history.

Bridge risk comes from smart contracts, oracle data and the collateral backing the wrapped tokens. Over-collateralization reduces but does not eliminate the chance of loss, for example if collateral values fall sharply. Only commit funds you can afford to lose, and check the official documentation for current security information.

6 steps

How to get started with FAssets

  1. 1

Read the Flare FAssets developer documentation to understand how minting and redemption work.

  2. 2

Check that you hold a supported underlying asset such as XRP, BTC or DOGE and a wallet that works with Flare.

  3. 3

Open the FAssets app and connect your wallet using the Connect Wallet button.

  4. 4

Review the Mint page for current limits, fees and agent or pool details before confirming.

  5. 5

Start with a small amount to learn the flow, then check My Tags for your positions.

  6. 6

Review the Proof of reserve section on the Home page to see supply against reserves.

Who FAssets is for

FAssets is for crypto users who hold XRP, BTC or DOGE and want to use them in DeFi on Flare. It also suits people comfortable with bridge and oracle risk who will read documentation before minting.

FAssets FAQs

What is FAssets?

FAssets is a bridge protocol on Flare that lets users mint wrapped versions of assets that lack smart contracts, such as XRP, BTC and DOGE. The wrapped tokens can then be used in DeFi on Flare. The system is backed by on-chain collateral and Flare's data oracles.

Is FAssets safe?

The description says it is trustless and over-collateralized, meaning minted tokens are backed by collateral worth more than the assets they represent. That does not remove risk. Users still depend on smart contracts, oracles and collateral values, and DefiLlama lists no audits for the protocol.

Which chains does FAssets use?

DefiLlama lists XRPL and Flare. Native assets such as XRP sit on the XRP Ledger, while the wrapped FAssets tokens are used on Flare.

Does FAssets have its own token?

No. DefiLlama lists token=none for FAssets. The project does not name a protocol token of its own.

What does it cost to mint FAssets?

The project does not publish fee figures. Users should check the Mint and Pools pages in the app and the Flare FAssets developer documentation before minting.

How do I use FAssets?

The homepage has a Connect Wallet button and Mint, My Tags, Pools and Bridge sections. You need a compatible wallet on Flare. The project does not name specific supported wallets.
