Our verdict on Upshift
7.3/10Upshift suits DeFi users who want strategist-managed vaults for stablecoins, BTC, ETH or XRP and are comfortable comparing risk across many options. Its strengths are a broad vault range, clear per-vault data and sizeable TVL. The main caveat is that returns depend on third-party strategists, some APYs are only targets, and fees are not published publicly. Treat the high-yield Enhanced vaults with extra caution.

What is Upshift?
Upshift is a yield platform that offers vaults for stablecoins, BTC, ETH and XRP. The homepage describes it as institutional DeFi yield, powered by August, and says it works with fintechs on custom yield products across DeFi and regulated strategies.
DefiLlama lists it as an onchain capital allocator, live since December 2024, with roughly $464M in TVL and a 5.1% rise over seven days. The homepage shows a higher total of about $573M deposited. The two figures come from different sources and methods.
The app lists 38 vaults across many chains, including Ethereum, Stellar, Flare, HyperEVM and Monad. The largest listed is Sentora USD at about $113M and a 7.50% 30-day APY. Other strategists include Gami Labs, Clearstar Labs, K3 Capital and RockawayX.
How Upshift works
Upshift packages yield strategies into vaults. A user deposits a token such as USDC, WETH or FXRP into a vault on a given chain. The vault's strategist then allocates the funds across DeFi protocols or regulated strategies and the user holds a share of the vault. Share price moves as the strategy earns, for example 1.0512 on the Sentora USD vault.
Each vault shows its APY, often as a 30-day or 7-day trailing figure, but some are targets. Deposit caps apply on some vaults, and the Flare XRP vault is shown 71% full against its cap.
DefiLlama classes Upshift as an onchain capital allocator. The homepage also says it works with fintechs on custom products, including regulated strategies such as tokenized T-bills.

Pros and cons
What we like
- Large listed TVL of about $464M on DefiLlama suggests meaningful use.
- Wide choice of 38 vaults covering stablecoins, BTC, ETH, XRP and HYPE.
- Vault pages show TVL, APY, deposit token, chain, cap and strategist.
- Two audits are listed on DefiLlama.
- Support for many chains, including Stellar, Flare and Monad.
- Cash, Core and Enhanced tiers make risk levels easier to compare.
Watch out for
- Vault APYs vary widely and some are labelled targets or indicative rather than realised, so headline numbers can mislead.
- Each vault relies on an outside strategist, so risk depends on who runs it and which strategies it uses.
- The project does not list fees, so cost per vault is unclear until you read the docs.
- The 25.75% and 15.30% vaults are shown without explanation of how that yield is produced.
- Some vaults have deposit caps or are withdraw-only, which limits access.
- The tokenized T-bill product is shown as indicative and requires getting in touch, so it is not a simple self-serve deposit.
Upshift fees
The project does not publish a fee schedule. Vault listings show APY, TVL and caps but not management, performance or withdrawal fees.
Users should check each vault's page and the docs for fees before depositing, and remember that network gas costs apply on each chain.
Is Upshift safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits for Upshift, but the project does not name the auditors, dates or findings. No hacks or incidents are mentioned publicly, though that does not rule out risk. Vault deposits depend on smart contracts and on the strategists who allocate the funds.
Some strategies may use regulated products such as tokenized T-bills, which add counterparty and issuer risk. The project does not state licensing or custody terms for Upshift. Check the docs for audit reports, custody setup and redemption terms before depositing.

Who Upshift is for
Upshift is for DeFi users and businesses who want ready-made yield vaults rather than managing strategies themselves. It suits people willing to read vault details and accept smart-contract and strategist risk. Fintechs may also use it to add yield products to their own apps.
Upshift FAQs

Upshift is a yield platform that offers vaults for stablecoins, BTC, ETH and XRP. Each vault is run by a named strategist and routes deposits into DeFi or regulated strategies. The homepage says it is powered by August.
What yields does Upshift show?
Public sources list 38 vaults, with APYs ranging from about 1.32% on the Flare XRP vault to 25.75% on the NEMO USDC Prime vault. Some figures are 30-day or 7-day trailing and others are targets. The project does not say whether any rate is guaranteed, and DeFi yields can change or fall.
Which chains does Upshift support?
Public sources say the app covers Ethereum, Stellar, Flare, HyperEVM, Monad, Solana, Avalanche, Base, Sui, Plasma, BNB Chain, Ink and others. Each vault is available on a specific chain, shown in its listing.
Does Upshift have a token?
DefiLlama shows no token for Upshift. The app does show Points, a Leaderboard, Referrals and reward multipliers on vaults, but the project does not explain how these convert to value.
Is Upshift safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits, but the project does not name the auditors or give their scope. Vault deposits also carry smart-contract and strategist risk. Read the audit reports in the docs and only deposit what you can afford to lose.
What do Core and Enhanced vaults mean?
Vaults are labelled Cash, Core (under 8%) or Enhanced (8% and above). Public sources say two vaults are withdraw-only and one is recently launched. Core and Enhanced are the labels shown, and Enhanced vaults typically take more risk for higher yield.
