Our verdict on YieldNest
7.1/10YieldNest suits DeFi users who want ETH, USD or real-world-asset yield through single tokens instead of managing several protocols themselves. Its main strengths are the bundled strategies, two listed audits and an independent risk team. The main caveat is stacked smart-contract and counterparty risk, along with unpublished fees and incomplete APY figures on the homepage. Read the audits and docs, and start with a small amount.

What is YieldNest?
YieldNest is a DeFi protocol that describes itself as a liquid restaking platform with simple, risk-adjusted strategies. Instead of managing many positions, users stake into a single token that bundles several strategies. DefiLlama lists it as an onchain capital allocator on Ethereum and BNB Chain, with about $23.9 million in total value locked and a listing date of May 2024.
The current lineup on the homepage includes ynETHx for ETH, ynUSDx for USD, ynRWAx for real-world-asset yield and a StakeDAO Combo for Curve LP tokens. Earlier products, such as the EigenLayer-based ynLSDe, appear in press coverage. In 2024 the project also reported raising $5.2 million in a contribution round.
The homepage names many ecosystem partners, advisors and backers, including figures linked to Frax, Curve, Convex, Kyber Network and Yearn. The project does not specify the terms of these relationships, so treat the list as the project's own description. The protocol has a token, YND.
How YieldNest works
You deposit an asset such as ETH or a USD stablecoin and receive a yn-prefixed token in return. That token represents your share of a vault and earns rewards that compound automatically, according to the homepage.
Behind each token, MAX Vaults pool deposits and spread them across restaking and other DeFi strategies. The protocol says it rebalances positions and uses L1 settlement to pick risk-adjusted options. Restaking means reusing staked ETH to help secure other networks or services, such as through EigenLayer, in exchange for extra rewards.
Because the yn tokens stay liquid, holders can use them in other DeFi apps for lending, liquidity or further yield. The RWA product adds exposure to real-world yields, while the USD token targets dollar-denominated earnings.
7 features
Key features
01
MAX Vaults
MAX Vaults merge several DeFi strategies into one dynamic asset. They use rebalancing and L1 settlement to select risk-adjusted strategies across DeFi.
02
ETH restaking token
ynETHx is a liquid token earning rewards on ETH through restaking protocols. Holders keep a tradable token while the underlying ETH works.
03
Real-world-asset yield
ynRWAx offers USD-denominated earnings from real-world-asset products. The homepage shows an 11% APY for it.
04
USD yield token
ynUSDx is a liquid token earning rewards on USD, with its APY listed as to be determined.
05
StakeDAO LP combo
The StakeDAO Combo lets users stake ynRWAx/ynUSDx Curve LP tokens via StakeDAO for an additional layer of yield.
06
Independent risk team
A risk and research team operated by LlamaRisk reviews strategies, and an Immunefi bug bounty program is listed.
07
Composable tokens
ynTokens can be used across DeFi after staking, for example in lending or liquidity pools with protocols listed as partners.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Bundles several DeFi and restaking strategies into one token, reducing the need to manage positions.
- Two audits are listed, with security partners named on the homepage and an Immunefi bug bounty.
- Independent risk and research team operated by LlamaRisk.
- Covers ETH, USD and real-world-asset yield products rather than a single strategy.
- Tokens stay liquid and can be used in other DeFi protocols.
Watch out for
- Smart-contract risk is layered: users depend on YieldNest's vaults plus every underlying restaking and DeFi protocol they route into.
- Advertised APY figures on the homepage are partial: one product shows 11%, another shows no figure and another says TBD, so returns are hard to compare.
- Fees are not stated on the homepage, so users cannot see what the protocol keeps before depositing.
- Liquid restaking tokens can trade away from the value of what backs them, especially in stressed markets.
- Airdrop-style points programmes, such as the Seeds points mentioned in press coverage, give no guaranteed value.
- Exposure to real-world-asset products adds issuer and off-chain counterparty risk that onchain audits do not cover.
YieldNest fees
The homepage does not publish a fee schedule. Protocols of this type often take a share of yield or charge withdrawal fees, but YieldNest's specific figures are not stated in the material reviewed.
Users would normally see any vault fees in the app and the official docs before depositing. Network gas on Ethereum or BNB Chain is paid separately.
Is YieldNest safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits, and the homepage names ChainSecurity and Zokyo among security partners, with audit reports linked from the site. It also lists an Immunefi bug bounty and an independent risk team run by LlamaRisk. The reports' findings are not summarised in the material reviewed, so read them before depositing.
Risk remains at several levels. Users rely on YieldNest's vault contracts, plus every restaking protocol, DEX, oracle and RWA issuer those vaults connect to. Liquid tokens can also lose their peg to underlying value in stressed markets. Funds are held in smart contracts rather than by a custodian, so there is no deposit insurance. The material reviewed does not mention a hack of the protocol, but check the project's channels for current incident reports. Only deposit what you can afford to lose and check local regulations for your area.
6 steps
How to get started with YieldNest
- 1
Install a Web3 wallet and fund it with a supported asset such as ETH or a USD stablecoin on Ethereum or BNB Chain.
- 2
Open the official YieldNest site and use the Go to App button, checking you are on the correct address.
- 3
Read the docs and the audit reports for the product you plan to use, and review the fee and withdrawal terms.
- 4
Choose a product, such as ynETHx, ynUSDx or ynRWAx, and stake a small amount first.
- 5
Receive the matching yn token in your wallet and confirm it appears correctly.
- 6
Decide whether to hold it or use it in a partner DeFi protocol, and monitor rates and risks over time.
Who YieldNest is for
YieldNest is for crypto holders comfortable with DeFi wallets who want passive yield on ETH or stablecoins without picking individual strategies. It suits users who accept smart-contract risk and want tokens they can reuse in other DeFi apps. It is a poor fit for anyone who needs guaranteed returns or insured funds.
