Our verdict on Spectra V2
6.5/10Spectra V2 suits DeFi users who want to lock in a fixed yield or trade future yield, and who are comfortable with PT and YT mechanics. Its main strength is a broad product set across 13 chains, now including curated MetaVaults with automated rollovers. The main caveat is that DefiLlama lists no audits and fees are not published publicly, so newcomers should read the documentation and start small.

What is Spectra V2?
Spectra V2 is a DeFi protocol that describes its purpose as securing future yield at a fixed rate. DefiLlama lists it under Yield, and it is on 13 chains, including Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism and Flare. It has been listed since June 2024 and shows roughly $10.35M in TVL.
The app offers fixed-rate positions through Principal Tokens, leveraged yield exposure through Yield Tokens, liquidity pools, limit orders and OTC trading. The current homepage focuses on MetaVaults, which are curated vaults with automated rollovers. Listings shown include Gami Spectra USDC on Base, vbUSDC on Katana and Flare XRP Yield Prime on Flare.
The protocol has its own token, SPECTRA, and a governance area with proposals, delegates and veSPECTRA. DefiLlama lists no audits, and the project does not otherwise describe security reviews, so users should check the documentation themselves.
How Spectra V2 works
Spectra splits a yield-bearing asset into two parts. A Principal Token (PT) represents the underlying asset at maturity, and a Yield Token (YT) represents the yield earned until then. Buying PT at a discount lets a user lock in a fixed rate, while buying YT gives leveraged exposure to variable yield.
The app also offers liquidity pools, where users provide liquidity to PT and YT markets and earn from trading activity. Limit orders and OTC tools let users trade at chosen prices.
MetaVaults are the newer product shown on the homepage. They are curated vaults with automated rollovers, so a curator manages positions as they mature and moves funds into new ones. Each listed vault shows a maximum APY, TVL and chain.
7 features
Key features
01
Fixed rates (PT)
Principal Tokens let users fix a rate on a yield-bearing asset ahead of time, in line with the protocol's stated aim of securing future yield at a fixed rate.
02
Yield leverage (YT)
Yield Tokens let users take leveraged exposure to the yield an asset generates, rather than locking it in.
03
MetaVaults
Curated vaults with automated rollovers, run by curators such as Gami Labs and Clearstar. Users can also create their own MetaVault.
04
Liquidity pools
Users can provide liquidity to pools to earn on LP positions, and the app lists a dedicated Liquidity section.
05
Limit orders and OTC
The app menu includes limit orders and an OTC section for trading Spectra positions.
06
veSPECTRA governance
veSPECTRA, governance proposals and delegates are listed in the menu, so token holders can take part in protocol decisions.
07
Multi-chain deployment
The protocol runs on 13 chains, including Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, Sonic and Flare.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Offers fixed-rate positions, which are uncommon compared with variable-rate DeFi products.
- Broad multi-chain support across 13 networks, including Ethereum, Base and Arbitrum.
- Product range covers PT, YT, liquidity pools, limit orders, OTC and MetaVaults.
- MetaVaults automate rollovers, so users do not need to manage positions manually at each maturity.
- Listed since June 2024 and holds roughly $10.35M in TVL, with a stable 7-day change of 0.1%.
- Token governance through veSPECTRA gives holders a vote.
Watch out for
- DefiLlama lists no audits for Spectra V2, and the project does not describe any audit reports.
- Fixed-rate and yield-token products are harder for beginners than a plain deposit or swap.
- MetaVault returns depend on curators, and the project does not explain how curators are chosen or vetted.
- Support spans 13 chains, which adds bridge, wallet and per-chain smart-contract risk.
- Fees are not published publicly, so users cannot check costs before connecting a wallet.
- Advertised APYs on the homepage are maximums and can change; they are not guaranteed returns.
Spectra V2 fees
Spectra V2's fee schedule is not public. The homepage shows maximum APY and TVL for each MetaVault but does not list management, performance or swap fees.
Users should check each vault or market in the app and the official docs for fees before depositing. Network gas fees on the chosen chain also apply.
Is Spectra V2 safe?
DefiLlama shows no audits listed for Spectra V2. The project does not mention bug bounties, insurance or past incidents, so none can be assumed. Users interact through their own wallet, but deposits are held in smart contracts, which carry code risk.
MetaVaults add curator risk, because vault performance depends on the choices of the named curators. Multi-chain deployment adds per-chain and bridge exposure. Fixed-rate returns also depend on the underlying yield-bearing asset holding its value. The project does not provide information about regulatory status.
6 steps
How to get started with Spectra V2
- 1
Review the official documentation to understand PT, YT and MetaVaults before depositing.
- 2
Check that online DeFi use is legal where you live, and use only the official app address.
- 3
Connect a compatible wallet and choose a network, such as Base, Ethereum or Arbitrum.
- 4
Pick a product: Fixed Rate (PT) for a known yield, or a MetaVault for curated, automated rollovers.
- 5
Compare APY, TVL, maturity and curator for each option, remembering that APY figures are maximums.
- 6
Start with a small deposit and keep a record of the maturity dates and positions in the Portfolio page.
Who Spectra V2 is for
Spectra V2 is for intermediate DeFi users who want predictable yield or are comfortable trading yield exposure. MetaVaults may appeal to those who prefer a curator to manage rollovers. It is less suited to beginners or anyone who needs audited, insured products.

Spectra is a DeFi protocol that lets users lock in a fixed rate on yield-bearing assets by using Principal Tokens (PT). It also offers Yield Tokens (YT) for leveraged yield exposure, liquidity pools, limit orders, OTC trading and curated MetaVaults.
What are Spectra MetaVaults?
A MetaVault is a curated vault with automated rollovers, according to the homepage. Vaults are run by named curators, such as Gami Labs and Clearstar in the listings shown, and display a maximum APY, TVL and chain.
Does Spectra have a token?
Spectra V2 has a token called SPECTRA. The app menu also lists governance proposals, delegates and veSPECTRA, which points to a vote-escrow governance model. The project does not give token supply or emissions details.
Which chains does Spectra support?
DefiLlama lists Spectra V2 on Flare, Stellar, Ethereum, Base, Katana, Sonic, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Hyperliquid, Hemi, Optimism, Arbitrum and Monad. Available markets differ by chain.
Is Spectra V2 safe?
No protocol that handles funds is risk-free. DefiLlama shows zero audits listed for Spectra V2, and the project does not mention insurance. Users face smart-contract, curator, and underlying-asset risk, so they should read the documentation and use only funds they can afford to lose.
