Our verdict on Hipo
7.4/10Hipo suits GRAM holders on TON who want staking rewards while keeping a liquid token they can use in TON DeFi. Its main strengths are the advertised 0% staking fee, a 16.71% recent yield and four published audits, including a 2025 Quantstamp review. The main caveat is that the yield is a recent snapshot and the fee is described as current, so neither is guaranteed. Smart-contract risk and a small HPO market cap also remain, so size your stake accordingly.

What is Hipo?
Hipo is a liquid staking protocol on the TON blockchain, listed on DefiLlama since October 2023. Users stake GRAM and receive hGRAM, a token that gains value against GRAM as validation rewards accrue. The project describes itself as open-source and community-owned.
The homepage reports about $11.7M staked (worth 9.95M GRAM), 23,225 stakers and yearly rewards of 16.71% over the last two rounds. It currently advertises a 0% staking fee. DefiLlama shows TVL of about $11.76M, down 8.1% over seven days.
Hipo also has its own token, HPO, positioned as a governance and profit-sharing token. Stakers can earn HPO through Hipo Club. Third-party results mention Hipo NFTs, a Hipo Gang community campaign and a $1M liquidity rewards program, but public information here do not detail how those work today.
How Hipo works
Hipo is a liquid staking protocol. Normally, staking locks your coins with validators so they can secure the network and earn rewards. With Hipo, you deposit GRAM and receive hGRAM in return, which represents your staked position and stays usable in your wallet.
Hipo does not pay rewards as separate tokens. Instead, hGRAM rises in value against GRAM as validation rewards accumulate, so each hGRAM redeems for more GRAM over time. When you unstake, you return hGRAM and receive GRAM plus your accumulated rewards.
Because hGRAM is a regular token, it can work across TON DeFi, for example in lending or liquidity pools. The site also mentions Hipo pools that can be accessed through decentralized exchanges. Stakers also earn HPO through Hipo Club, which is a separate incentive layer on top of the staking yield.

Pros and cons
What we like
- 0% staking fee advertised, so stakers keep all staking rewards
- Four published audits across v1 and v2 contracts, including Quantstamp for v2 in April 2025
- Liquid hGRAM token that can be used across TON DeFi
- Low entry point of 1 GRAM, with unstaking described as available any time
- Open-source code and extensive documentation, stats and multilingual support
- Operating since 2023 with roughly $11.7M staked
Watch out for
- Rewards figures such as 16.71% are backed by the last two rounds only and are not guaranteed to continue
- The advertised 0% staking fee is labelled as current ("is now 0%"), so it could change
- TVL fell 8.1% over seven days per DefiLlama, and the protocol is concentrated on a single chain
- HPO has a small market cap of about $215.3K, so the token is thinly valued and may be illiquid
- Smart-contract risk remains despite four audits, and hGRAM carries risk in any TON DeFi app where it is used
- Claims such as "most profitable" and "highest APY" come from the project itself and are not independently verified here
Hipo fees
The homepage states that the staking fee is now 0%, so stakers earn 100% of staking rewards. The site also links to a "Fees compared" page, which would be the place to see how Hipo stacks up against other TON staking options.
Network transaction fees on TON, any fees when swapping hGRAM or HPO on exchanges, and any costs for unstaking are not stated publicly. Check the app and docs before you confirm a transaction.
Is Hipo safe?
Hipo lists four smart-contract audits: Daniil Sedov and TonTech for v1 (October 2023), ProgramCrafter for v2 (March 2024) and Quantstamp for v2 (April 2025). The contracts are described as open-source with code on GitHub. Audits lower but do not remove the risk of bugs, and public information here do not describe any bug bounty or incident history.
Staking is non-custodial in the usual DeFi sense: you interact with smart contracts from your own wallet. You still carry smart-contract risk, validator and network risk on TON, and the market risk that hGRAM or HPO could trade at a discount in secondary markets. Hipo's regulatory status is not stated publicly, so check the rules where you live.
7 steps
How to get started with Hipo
- 1
Check that liquid staking and crypto services are permitted where you live.
- 2
Set up a TON-compatible wallet and fund it with GRAM, keeping a little extra for network transaction costs.
- 3
Open the Hipo app from the official site, and verify the address using the site's Verify page.
- 4
Connect your wallet and stake an amount of GRAM (the site says you can begin with 1 GRAM).
- 5
Receive hGRAM and watch its exchange rate against GRAM to track your rewards.
- 6
Read the Hipo Club and HPO pages if you want to earn the governance token.
- 7
Unstake by returning hGRAM when you want your GRAM and accumulated rewards back.
Who Hipo is for
Hipo is for existing GRAM holders who want to earn staking rewards without locking funds, and who are comfortable using a TON wallet and DeFi apps. It is less suited to anyone seeking guaranteed returns, or who wants exposure outside the TON ecosystem.
Hipo FAQs

What yield does Hipo offer?
The homepage shows yearly rewards of 16.71% based on the last two rounds. That is a recent snapshot rather than a promise, because staking rewards change with network conditions.
Does Hipo charge a staking fee?
The homepage says the staking fee is now 0%, so stakers keep 100% of staking rewards. Normal TON network transaction costs are not described publicly and should be checked in the app.
Has Hipo been audited?
Hipo lists four audit reports: TonTech and Daniil Sedov for v1 (October 2023), ProgramCrafter for v2 (March 2024) and Quantstamp for v2 (April 2025). Audits reduce risk but do not remove it.
Can I unstake at any time?
The site says you can return hGRAM whenever you want and receive GRAM plus accumulated rewards. Exact timing and any waiting period are not detailed publicly, so check the docs and FAQ before staking large amounts.
What is the HPO token?
HPO is Hipo's governance and profit-sharing token. Stakers also earn HPO through Hipo Club at no extra cost. The site lists a market cap of $215.3K, 48.1M circulating supply and 7.2K holders.
