ActivePWN Review 2026: Oracle-less P2P Lending, Small TVL
PWN is a peer-to-peer, oracle-less lending protocol where users set their own loan terms against almost any collateral. Its design avoids price liquidations, but current on-chain TVL is very small.

Our verdict on PWN
6.3/10PWN suits experienced DeFi users who want fixed-rate, negotiated loans against varied collateral, including NFTs, without price-based liquidation. Its main strength is the oracle-less, isolated-loan design with flexible terms. The main caveat is scale: DefiLlama shows only about $22K TVL, and peer-to-peer matching and default risk mean it is less convenient than pooled lenders. Beginners should read the docs and audits and start small.

What is PWN?
PWN is a peer-to-peer permissionless lending protocol listed on DefiLlama since August 2023. Users can borrow against or lend using almost any asset in their wallet, including ERC-20 tokens, NFTs and bundles of both, with full control over LTV, duration and APY.
The site offers three tiers: Hedge Notes for simple fixed-rate loans backed by ETH or BTC, Curated Markets with terms preset by curators, and the Universal Bazaar for fully custom deals. It also describes a PWN DAO, launched in December 2024, which governs the protocol and treasury.
The homepage claims over $10M transacted, a 10.5% average APY and 5K+ users. These are self-reported. DefiLlama currently shows TVL of about $22K, which is small, so liquidity depth is a real consideration.
How PWN works
PWN is a peer-to-peer lending protocol. A lender or borrower proposes loan terms, including collateral, amount, duration and interest rate, and a counterparty accepts them. Each loan is isolated, so one loan going wrong does not affect another.
There are no price oracles. Traditional lending protocols liquidate a borrower when collateral value drops below a threshold. PWN instead fixes the terms up front: if the borrower repays by the deadline they get their collateral back, and if they default the lender takes the collateral.
Lenders can also source liquidity from pools such as Aave, Morpho, Euler or Compound, so funds already earning variable yield can back a fixed-rate PWN loan. Collateral can be tokens, NFTs or a bundle of both.
7 features
Key features
01
Flexible collateral
Borrow against or lend using ERC-20 tokens, NFTs or bundles of both, with no fixed collateral whitelist.
02
Custom loan terms
Lenders and borrowers negotiate LTV, duration and interest rate directly, which the site calls the Universal Bazaar.
03
Oracle-less, no liquidations
The protocol has no price oracles, so loans are protected from price-based liquidations. Collateral is lost only on default.
04
Hedge Notes
Fixed-rate, short-term loans of up to 90 days backed by ETH or BTC, with convertible notes at 65-70% LTV and a listed 8.75% rate.
05
Curated markets
Pre-set deals from curators using more advanced collateral, aimed at users who want less setup.
06
Pool liquidity integration
Lending liquidity can be drawn from pools such as Aave, Morpho, Euler or Compound, letting lenders upgrade yield on existing supply.
07
DAO governance
PWN DAO steers the protocol and treasury, with governance participation and a reputation system.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Oracle-less design removes price-based liquidations; collateral is lost only on default.
- Accepts a wide range of collateral, including NFTs and bundles of assets.
- Fully customisable loan terms with fixed rates.
- Available on many EVM chains per DefiLlama.
- Two audits are listed on DefiLlama, and the site has an Audits page.
- Homepage advertises zero fees and fixed terms.
Watch out for
- TVL is about $22K per DefiLlama, very small for a lending protocol, so liquidity may be thin.
- Peer-to-peer matching means a loan only happens if someone accepts your terms; there is no pooled liquidity guaranteeing a fill.
- Custom terms and unusual collateral (NFTs, bundles) require the user to judge risk and pricing without an oracle.
- Losing collateral on default is the only risk mechanism, so borrowers who miss repayment lose their collateral outright.
- Homepage figures (volume, average APY, users) are self-reported and cannot be verified from public sources.
- No native token is listed, and governance sits with a relatively new DAO launched in December 2024.
PWN fees
The homepage advertises zero fees and fixed rates, but the project does not describe a fee schedule in detail. Interest rates are set by the loan terms agreed between lender and borrower, and the Hedge Notes product shows an 8.75% rate.
Network gas costs apply on every chain used and are not published as a PWN figure. Users should check the documentation and the app's confirmation screen before signing any loan.
Is PWN safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits and the site links an Audits page, but the project does not name the auditors or findings, so readers should review the reports directly. The homepage describes the protocol as permissionless, immutable and composable, which means no admin can easily change loans, but also that bugs are harder to fix.
Main risks are smart-contract risk, losing collateral by defaulting, and counterparty or valuation risk when taking unusual collateral without oracles. TVL of about $22K suggests a small footprint. No hacks or incidents appear. This is not financial advice; only commit funds you can afford to lose.
5 steps
How to get started with PWN
- 1
Read the user documentation and the Audits page on the official site to understand loan mechanics and risks.
- 2
Connect a compatible EVM wallet to the app on a supported network such as Ethereum, Arbitrum or Base.
- 3
Pick a path: Hedge Notes for simple fixed-rate loans, Curated Markets for pre-set deals, or Universal Bazaar for custom terms.
- 4
Review LTV, duration, interest rate and default conditions before signing, and note the repayment deadline.
- 5
Start with a small amount, given the low TVL and peer-to-peer matching, and track the loan until repayment.
Who PWN is for
PWN is for experienced DeFi users comfortable setting loan terms and judging collateral value themselves, such as borrowers wanting fixed rates without liquidation risk or lenders seeking negotiated fixed yield. It is less suited to beginners or anyone who needs deep, instant pooled liquidity.
PWN FAQs
What is PWN?
PWN is a peer-to-peer permissionless lending protocol. Users can lend or borrow against ERC-20 tokens, NFTs or bundles of both, and agree their own terms such as LTV, duration and interest rate.
Does PWN liquidate loans?
No. PWN does not use price oracles, so loans are not liquidated when collateral prices move. The documented way to lose collateral is to default on the loan, meaning not repaying by the agreed deadline.
Does PWN charge fees?
The homepage advertises zero fees. Check the documentation and the app's transaction screen for gas costs and any other charges before confirming a loan, since network fees still apply on every chain.
Which networks does PWN support?
DefiLlama lists Polygon, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Unichain, Optimism, Base, Gnosis, Cronos, Linea, BNB Chain, World Chain and Mantle. The protocol description itself refers to seven EVM networks, so confirm current availability in the app.
Does PWN have a token?
DefiLlama shows no token for PWN. The homepage describes a PWN DAO that governs the protocol and a reputation system, but the project does not name a tradable governance token.
Is PWN audited?
DefiLlama lists two audits, and the site has an Audits page. Read the reports yourself, and remember that audits reduce but do not remove smart-contract risk, especially with TVL this low.
