EOS is a layer 1 blockchain that now goes by the name Vaulta. It runs on delegated proof of stake, in which token holders vote for a limited set of block producers who validate transactions. Native smart contracts are not Ethereum-style EVM contracts, although the ecosystem also has an EVM-compatible environment. Instead of charging a gas fee on each action, the network relies on system resources: CPU, NET and RAM.

The resource model shapes how the chain is used. Holders stake or rent CPU and NET for processing power and bandwidth, and they buy RAM for on-chain storage. Vaulta REX, the Resource Exchange, lets holders lend tokens to earn system income and lets others rent CPU and NET. Vaulta RAM is a market for buying and selling RAM at an algorithmic price. At the time of writing, REX shows about $34 million in TVL on our data, the largest figure among the EOS-only apps listed here.

Beyond system tools, the ecosystem is known for decentralized exchanges and games. Alcor Exchange, DefiBox and 1DEX handle trading, and AtomicHub is a marketplace for NFTs, centered on WAX and EOS-family chains. Prospectors is a blockchain strategy game, Genpool covers block producer voting, and Chintai focuses on tokenized real-world assets. Gambling apps such as BetHash, SportBet and Deos Games are also present, and these are for adults only: you must be 18 or older (21 where required) and should confirm that online gambling is legal where you live. Large centralized exchanges like Bitget, Gate, HTX and Indodax also appear on this page because they support EOS among many networks.

Does TRON Have More dApps Than EOS? Why the Count Misleads

The question of whether TRON or EOS has more dApps sounds simple, but the answer depends on what you count, when you count it, and which activity you care about. This guide explains why a raw number misleads and how to compare the two chains on terms that matter.

Is EOS Game Over? Status of the EOS Blockchain in 2026

EOS is a layer-1 blockchain that has lost much of the attention it had in 2018, but being less popular is not the same as being shut down. This guide explains what EOS is, how to check whether its network is still running, what to do if you hold EOS or use apps on it, and how the separate game meaning of "EOS" (End of Service) differs.

Frequently asked questions

Is EOS the same thing as Vaulta?

EOS is a layer 1 blockchain that has been rebranded as Vaulta, and several dApps on this page use the Vaulta name, such as Vaulta REX and Vaulta RAM. Older projects like DefiBox, 1DEX and Prospectors still describe themselves as EOS-based.

How does EOS reach consensus?

EOS uses a delegated proof-of-stake model. Token holders vote for block producers, and Genpool is one example of a service built around that voting. Users generally hold stake-based resources instead of paying a fee on every transaction.

What are CPU, NET and RAM on EOS?

The network uses CPU, NET and RAM as system resources. CPU and NET cover processing and bandwidth, and RAM covers on-chain storage. Vaulta REX lets users rent CPU and NET or lend tokens, and Vaulta RAM is a market for buying and selling RAM.

Which DEXes can I use on EOS?

Alcor Exchange, DefiBox and 1DEX are decentralized exchanges on or connected to EOS. Alcor is non-custodial and also supports WAX, Telos and XPR Network. DefiBox adds a USN stablecoin and lending. 1DEX offers an order book with Passkey login. Check each platform's details before using it.

Why are centralized exchanges listed on an EOS page?

Bitget, Gate, HTX, Indodax and Latoken are centralized exchanges that support many networks, and EOS is one of them. Their listed TVL figures reflect exchange holdings across chains, not on-chain DeFi activity on EOS, so don't compare them directly with EOS-native protocols.

Are the gambling dApps on EOS safe and legal to use?

Gambling dApps on EOS include BetHash, SportBet, Sportbet One and Deos Games. You must be at least 18, or 21 where local law requires, and you should check that online gambling is legal where you live before signing up. Only play with money you can afford to lose, and respect any age or identity checks a site applies.

What is the largest dApp on EOS by TVL?

Bitget is the largest dApp on EOS by total value locked, with $5.93B across all the chains it supports. It is followed by Gate ($5.91B) and HTX ($3.93B). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.

Which dApp on EOS has the highest DappsAtlas score?

Gate has the highest score at 7.7/10, ahead of Bitget (7.6) and Indodax (7.0). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.

How many dApps are on EOS?

DappsAtlas tracks 59 dApps on EOS. Of these, 59 have a full review and 20 report value locked, $16.3B in total, counting value on every chain they support.

What are the most common types of dApps on EOS?

Crypto Gambling (19), DEXes (11) and Centralized Exchanges (6) are the largest categories on EOS, by number of projects.

Which dApps on EOS grew the most this week?

Among dApps with at least $1M locked, Bitget had the biggest 7-day TVL gain (+1.6%) and Zoomex the biggest drop (−20.5%). Combined TVL moved −1.1% over the same seven days.

What is the average score for dApps on EOS?

The 21 rated dApps on EOS average 5.7 out of 10. Of these, 0 score 8 or higher and 6 score below 5.
