Our verdict on Rigoblock
6.0/10RigoBlock suits technically comfortable DeFi users, strategy operators and developers building agent-driven trading who want non-custodial vaults with enforced limits. Its main strength is a clear safety design, including Scoped Delegation and Proof-of-Performance rewards instead of management fees. The main caveat is scale: TVL is around $16,000 and shrinking, no audits are listed on DefiLlama, and some shield features are scheduled for 2026. Treat it as an early-stage tool and verify audits and live features first.

What is Rigoblock?
RigoBlock is a DeFi protocol for creating and managing non-custodial smart vaults, also called smart pools. DefiLlama lists it as an onchain capital allocator, and it has been tracked since May 2023. The project roadmap dates its mainnet launch to Q4 2018.
The current homepage frames RigoBlock as vault infrastructure for the agentic era. It offers built-in protections called Swap Shield, NAV Shield and Scoped Delegation, so both human operators and AI agents can run strategies within protocol-enforced limits.
The network runs on Arbitrum, Optimism, Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, Unichain and Hyperliquid, according to DefiLlama. The GRG token governs the protocol and pays vault operators through Proof-of-Performance.
Scale is modest. DefiLlama shows TVL of about $16,200 after a 39% drop over seven days, so this is an infrastructure project with limited capital rather than a major platform.
How Rigoblock works
A RigoBlock vault is a smart contract that holds assets on-chain. An operator, which can be a person or an AI agent, trades or manages those assets through the vault, while the contract enforces rules on what is allowed. Depositors keep their funds in the contract rather than handing them to a custodian.
The protocol adds guardrails. Swap Shield uses oracle-protected swaps, NAV Shield provides downside protection on vault value, and Scoped Delegation limits what a delegate can do. The project says vaults also avoid unnecessary token approvals.
Incentives work through Proof-of-Performance. Instead of fixed management and performance fees, GRG is distributed by an on-chain algorithm to operators in proportion to the stake their vaults own. GRG holders can back operators and share in the earnings, and staked GRG also carries governance votes.
8 features
Key features
01
Non-custodial smart vaults
Operators deploy vaults permissionlessly. Funds stay in the vault contract rather than with a custodian.
02
Swap and NAV Shield
Swap Shield and NAV Shield are described as protocol-enforced limits, including oracle-protected swaps and downside protection.
03
Scoped Delegation for agents
Operators can give AI agents limited permissions, with human-in-the-loop or fully autonomous modes.
04
Agent-native API
An X402 API is listed for agent-driven access, alongside developer docs.
05
Proof-of-Performance rewards
Vault operators earn GRG in proportion to the stake their vaults own, instead of charging management or performance fees.
06
Multi-chain strategies
Vaults can operate on several chains in parallel, with swaps, liquidity provision and hedging.
07
GRG on-chain governance
Staked GRG gives voting power over parameters, adapter whitelisting and implementation upgrades.
08
Open source and transparent
The project states that its code is 100% open source and that vault operations and incentives are publicly verifiable.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Non-custodial design: vault assets stay in smart contracts rather than with a custodian
- Specific safety features: Swap Shield, NAV Shield and Scoped Delegation limit what operators and agents can do
- Proof-of-Performance replaces management and performance fees with on-chain GRG rewards
- Long history, with a roadmap beginning at a Q4 2018 mainnet launch
- Open source, permissionless vault deployment and on-chain governance through staked GRG
- Multi-chain coverage across seven networks, and a developer-facing API for agents
Watch out for
- Very small TVL of about $16,200 on DefiLlama, with a 39% drop over seven days, so there is little proof of sustained usage
- No audits are listed on DefiLlama; the project says it has two full-scope audits but the project does not name the auditors or reports
- Swap Shield and NAV Shield are shown on the roadmap for 2026, so some protections may still be rolling out
- The GRG token has a small market cap, so governance and incentive rewards depend on a thin market
- Operators and stakers must understand vaults, staking and delegation; this is not a one-click product for beginners
- Team members, fee levels for swaps and no-fee claims are not detailed on the homepage
Rigoblock fees
RigoBlock does not publish a fee schedule on its homepage. Instead of management and performance fees, it says Proof-of-Performance rewards operators with GRG according to the stake their vaults hold.
Users should still expect network gas costs and any swap costs on the underlying venues. Details would appear in the app when deploying or transacting, and in the developer docs.
Is Rigoblock safe?
RigoBlock says it is non-custodial, 100% open source and subject to continuous code reviews, with two full-scope audits. DefiLlama lists no audits for it, and the auditors and reports are not named publicly, so readers should look for the audit documents themselves before depositing.
Smart-contract risk, oracle risk and operator risk apply to any vault. Protections such as Swap Shield and NAV Shield are described as protocol-enforced, but the roadmap places NAV Shield in Q1 2026 and Swap Shield in Q2 2026, so confirm which are live on the chain you use.
The site carries legal and memorandum pages. No regulatory licence is stated. Small TVL and a small token market cap mean thin liquidity. This is not financial advice.
6 steps
How to get started with Rigoblock
- 1
Read the whitepaper, bluepaper and FAQ on the project site to understand how vaults and Proof-of-Performance work.
- 2
Check the developer docs and the on-chain contracts for the chain you plan to use.
- 3
Open the app and connect a self-custody wallet on a supported chain.
- 4
Browse existing vaults or deploy your own, and review its rules and permissions.
- 5
Start with a small amount while you learn how swaps, NAV and delegation behave.
- 6
If you want governance rights or rewards, stake GRG through the staking page.
Who Rigoblock is for
RigoBlock is for strategy managers, DAO treasuries and developers who want to run on-chain strategies in a vault with hard limits, including those building AI agents that trade. It also suits GRG holders interested in staking and governance. Beginners who only want simple yield or swaps will find easier options.
Rigoblock FAQs
What is RigoBlock?
RigoBlock is a protocol for creating non-custodial smart pools, also called smart vaults, where an operator runs an onchain strategy. It supports swaps, liquidity provision and hedging across several chains. The homepage now also positions it for autonomous AI agents.
What is the GRG token used for?
GRG is the governance and incentive token of the network. It is distributed algorithmically to vault operators and stakers through Proof-of-Performance, and staked GRG carries voting power over protocol parameters, adapter whitelisting and upgrades.
Does RigoBlock charge management or performance fees?
The project says Proof-of-Performance replaces management and performance fees with an on-chain GRG reward algorithm. It does not publish a full fee table on the homepage, so check the app and the developer docs for swap costs and gas before depositing.
Is RigoBlock safe?
It is described as non-custodial, and the homepage says vaults remove unnecessary token approvals and block rogue transactions by design. Smart-contract risk still applies, and DefiLlama lists no audits even though the project claims two full-scope audits.
Which blockchains does RigoBlock support?
DefiLlama lists Arbitrum, Optimism, Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, Unichain and Hyperliquid. Third-party app pages also show token pages on other networks, but availability is best confirmed in the app.
What are Swap Shield, NAV Shield and Scoped Delegation?
Swap Shield and NAV Shield are built-in protections that limit what a vault operator or agent can do. Scoped Delegation lets an operator grant an agent limited permissions. Together they are meant to keep vaults from being drained, even when an agent trades autonomously.
