ZetaChain is a Layer-1 blockchain designed to connect other networks rather than sit apart from them. It is EVM-compatible and proof-of-stake, so Ethereum-style wallets and Solidity contracts work on it. Its main selling point is omnichain smart contracts: an app on ZetaChain can send messages and move assets across chains, including Bitcoin, which has no smart contracts of its own.

The native token is ZETA. It is used to pay network fees, to stake with validators, and in governance. Fees are paid in ZETA, so you need a small balance to do anything on the chain. Zetahub, the official portal, covers claiming, swapping, bridging, staking and voting in one place.

The ecosystem is small. DeFi TVL was about $278,079 at the time of writing, and many apps on our list, such as Gate, SushiSwap and Symbiosis, are multi-chain products rather than ZetaChain natives. Native and ZetaChain-linked projects include the DEXes iZiSwap, AbstraDEX and Omnidrome, the liquidity manager Skate Fi, the lenders Accumulated Finance Lending and AImstrong, the liquid staking protocol Zearn Protocol, the naming service ZNS Connect, and the memecoin Calories Cash. Expect thin liquidity and early-stage risk on many of them.

Frequently asked questions

What is ZetaChain?

ZetaChain is a Layer-1 blockchain built for omnichain interoperability. It lets smart contracts and messages work across different networks, including chains like Bitcoin that have no smart contracts of their own. It is EVM-compatible, so Ethereum-style tooling works on it.

What is the ZETA token used for?

ZETA is the native token. It is used for network fees and staking, and it is tied to governance of the chain. Liquid staking options such as Zearn Protocol, which issues stZETA, build on top of it.

Is ZetaChain EVM-compatible?

Yes. ZetaChain is EVM-compatible, so Solidity contracts and common Ethereum wallets and developer tools generally work. Its distinguishing feature is cross-chain messaging, which goes beyond what a typical EVM chain offers.

How much value is locked in ZetaChain DeFi?

The DeFi TVL on ZetaChain is small, at about $278,079 at the time of writing. Most listed apps here are multi-chain, and many have little or no liquidity on ZetaChain itself. Check each app's ZetaChain pool depth before using it.

Which dApps can I use on ZetaChain?

Our list includes iZiSwap, AbstraDEX and Omnidrome for swapping, Skate Fi for liquidity management, Accumulated Finance Lending and AImstrong for lending, and Zearn Protocol for staking. Zetahub is the official portal for claiming, swapping, bridging, staking and voting. Liquidity varies a lot between them.

Is it risky to use ZetaChain dApps?

Many of the apps are small, early-stage or thinly funded, and some carry smart-contract and bridge risks. Cross-chain activity adds more points of failure than staying on one network. Use only what you can afford to lose, start with small amounts, and keep your own wallet secure.

What is the largest dApp on Zetachain by TVL?

Gate is the largest dApp on Zetachain by total value locked, with $5.91B across all the chains it supports. It is followed by Bedrock uniBTC ($324M) and Gate US ($53.9M). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.

Which dApp on Zetachain has the highest DappsAtlas score?

vfat.io has the highest score at 7.8/10, ahead of Gate (7.7) and SushiSwap (7.4). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.

How many dApps are on Zetachain?

DappsAtlas tracks 27 dApps on Zetachain. Of these, 27 have a full review and 23 report value locked, $6.42B in total, counting value on every chain they support.

What are the most common types of dApps on Zetachain?

DEXes (7), Lending (3) and Liquidity Manager (3) are the largest categories on Zetachain, by number of projects.

Which dApps on Zetachain grew the most this week?

Among dApps with at least $1M locked, SushiSwap V3 had the biggest 7-day TVL gain (+4.2%) and DyorSwap AMM the biggest drop (−8.7%). Combined TVL moved −2.8% over the same seven days.

What is the average score for dApps on Zetachain?

The 21 rated dApps on Zetachain average 5.9 out of 10. Of these, 0 score 8 or higher and 5 score below 5.
