What Kamino and KMNO are
Kamino (KMNO) is the token of Kamino Finance, a DeFi protocol on Solana. The project began as a way to make providing liquidity and earning yield easier. Its one-click, auto-compounding concentrated liquidity strategies became popular LP products on Solana, and that product line is the base of what the protocol is today.
Kamino now describes itself as a suite that combines three things: lending, liquidity and leverage. Users can borrow and lend crypto assets, take leveraged positions on staking yield, and provide liquidity to decentralized exchanges with automated management. Kamino Lend, the lending side, is a peer-to-pool market. Depositors earn interest, and borrowers take loans against crypto collateral.
KMNO is separate from those products. It is the protocol's own token, not the asset people deposit or borrow. At the time of writing it ranks around 161st by market capitalization, so it is a mid-sized token rather than a major one.
What the token is used for
Public sources describe KMNO mainly as a governance and incentive token. Holders can take part in votes on protocol matters such as risk settings. Incentive programs have also used the token to reward people who contribute liquidity or otherwise participate in the protocol.
Some sources mention possible future uses, such as fee discounts and staking. Those are described as potential utilities, so treat them as unconfirmed unless the project's own documentation says they are live. Check the current docs before assuming a feature exists.
Holding KMNO does not give you a claim on protocol revenue or on the assets deposited in Kamino's markets. Using Kamino's lending or liquidity products does not require owning KMNO.
Supply and tokenomics
KMNO has a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens. About 9.99 billion have been issued in total, and roughly 5.92 billion are circulating, which is around 59% of the maximum. The gap between circulating and total supply means more tokens can still unlock over time, which can add selling pressure.
As of 2026-11-05 the price was about $0.036. That gives a market cap of roughly $212 million and a fully diluted valuation of around $359 million. Daily trading volume was about $18 million.
Kamino's documentation says 7.5% of total supply was distributed at launch to existing platform users as a genesis allocation, part of a larger community and grants bucket. Sources say the token launched through an airdrop in April 2024. This page does not cover the full allocation table, so check the official tokenomics docs for vesting schedules and team or investor shares.
Chains and how it is held and traded
KMNO is issued on Solana as an SPL token. You can hold it in a Solana-compatible wallet, and it trades on centralized exchanges and on Solana-based decentralized exchanges. The token is listed in CoinGecko-style categories such as DeFi, lending and borrowing, and the Solana ecosystem. It has also appeared in a Binance Alpha program.
If you trade on a decentralized exchange, confirm the token's mint address from the project's official channels. Copycat tokens with the same name or ticker are common on Solana. On a centralized exchange, check that you are depositing or withdrawing on the Solana network.
History and notable events
Kamino started in 2022 as a tool for managing liquidity positions on Solana DEXs, and later expanded into lending and leverage products. The KMNO airdrop in April 2024 marked the start of the token.
The token hit an all-time high of about $0.248 on 2024-12-15. It later fell to an all-time low of about $0.0134 on 2026-06-06. At the time of writing the price is down about 39% over the past year and about 3% over the past week. Those figures show how large the swings have been, and they are not a forecast.
Risks
KMNO carries the usual risks of a DeFi token. Its price can move sharply, as the history above shows. Further unlocks could add supply. Governance power depends on how many tokens you hold, so large holders have more influence.
There is also protocol risk. Kamino's lending and liquidity products rely on smart contracts, price oracles and liquidation mechanics. A bug, an oracle failure or a market crash can cause losses for users and may hurt confidence in the token. Leveraged products add risk of liquidation.
The token's utility is limited compared with the size of the protocol, and some of the proposed uses are not confirmed. Do your own research, and never put in money you cannot afford to lose. This page is information only and is not financial advice.
How to store it safely
Use a self-custody Solana wallet, ideally a hardware wallet, if you plan to hold KMNO for a long time. Write your recovery phrase down offline and never share it or type it into a website. No legitimate team will ask for it.
Before signing any transaction, check that you are on the correct site, since phishing clones of DeFi apps are common. Verify the token's mint address against official sources. Review which apps have permission to spend your tokens, and revoke old approvals you no longer need. Keeping a small balance in a connected hot wallet and the rest in cold storage limits the damage if something goes wrong.
If you leave tokens on an exchange, you rely on that exchange's security and withdrawal policies. Enable two-factor authentication and use a unique password.
By the numbers
Kamino in numbers
Kamino (KMNO) is ranked #160 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $202M and a price of $0.0342 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $342M, so roughly 59% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was up 0.2% over 7 days, down 12.7% over 30 days, down 43.4% over the past year. It trades about 86% below its all-time high of $0.2478, set on Dec 15, 2024.
About 5.92B KMNO are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 10B (59% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $9.94M, or 4.9% of its market cap: moderate turnover.
KMNO has token contracts on Solana. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
KMNO is linked to Kamino, which we cover in our Lending rankings. See our Kamino page for how the protocol works and how we score it.
