Cross-chain dApps help you move value or swap assets between blockchains that can't talk to each other on their own. Instead of selling a coin on one network and rebuying on another through a centralized exchange, you use an on-chain tool to do the conversion. This page covers three such projects: Emblem Vault, Pact Swap and Heroswap.

The mechanics differ. Some tools lock an asset on one chain and issue a wrapped version on another, and others use liquidity pools or matching to swap native assets directly. Emblem Vault wraps multichain assets into tradeable NFTs and has added an AI agent terminal and a Solana token. Pact Swap runs a cross-chain DEX on Coinweb and says it handles native swaps without bridges. Heroswap combines an exchange with an AMM and a HERO token. Revenue typically comes from swap or service fees, and in some cases from token-related incentives.

When comparing, start with which chains and assets are supported, since Heroswap lists Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin and Sui while Pact Swap focuses on Bitcoin-style native coins. Then look at the transfer method and what it means for custody risk, the full cost including network fees and slippage, and whether an audit or track record is publicly available. TVL is not available for these three at the time of writing, so treat any figures you find with caution and start small. This is general information, not financial advice, and you should check that a service is legal in your jurisdiction before using it.

Frequently asked questions

What is a cross-chain dApp?

A cross-chain dApp lets you move or swap assets between separate blockchains, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana, without selling into a centralized exchange. Some use bridges, some use swap pools or order matching, and some wrap assets into another format. The method matters because it determines who holds your funds during the transfer.

How is a cross-chain swap different from a bridge?

A bridge locks or burns an asset on one chain and releases or mints a version on another. A cross-chain swap exchanges one asset for a different native asset on another chain, often through a pool or counterparty. Pact Swap describes its approach as swapping native coins without bridges, while Emblem Vault wraps assets into NFTs.

Is it safe to use cross-chain dApps?

Cross-chain tools carry extra risks: smart contract bugs, compromised bridge keys, failed or stuck transfers and thin liquidity that causes poor pricing. Wrapped or vaulted assets also depend on the issuer or contract staying secure. Test with a small amount first and never move more than you can afford to lose.

What fees do cross-chain swaps involve?

Costs usually include network fees on both chains, a swap or service fee, and slippage from the price you get versus the quoted rate. Exact fees vary by dApp, route and congestion, so check the quote screen before confirming. Some tokens, like HERO on Heroswap, may also affect fee structures, so read the details.

Which cross-chain dApps support Bitcoin?

Heroswap lists no-signup swaps between assets on networks including Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin and Sui. Pact Swap focuses on native BTC, ETH, BNB, Tron, Litecoin and DOGE through Coinweb. Availability can depend on your region and on the dApp's own rules, so confirm the supported pairs before you start.

Do I need to worry about legality or KYC with these dApps?

Check the rules where you live, since crypto services are regulated differently across countries and some dApps restrict certain users. Do not try to get around geo-restrictions or identity checks. If a service asks for verification, follow its process or choose another option. Anything gambling-related is for adults only, 18+ or 21+ where required.

What is the largest cross chain by TVL?

Euclid Finance is the largest cross chain by total value locked, with $264K. It is followed by Gasp ($29.5K). TVL figures come from DefiLlama and change daily.

Which cross chain has the highest DappsAtlas score?

Emblem Vault has the highest score at 6.8/10, ahead of Pact Swap (6.0) and Euclid Finance (5.8). Scores weigh security, ease of use, fees and features, and are based only on facts we could verify.

How many cross chains does DappsAtlas track?

DappsAtlas tracks 15 cross chains. Of these, 15 have a full review and 2 report value locked, $294K in total.

What chains do most cross chains run on?

Ethereum is the most common, with 5 of 15 cross chains, followed by Solana (2) and Arbitrum (2). 63% are deployed on more than one chain.

What is the average score for cross chains?

The 6 rated cross chains average 5.9 out of 10. Of these, 0 score 8 or higher and 0 score below 5.
