Our verdict on Autofarm

6.0/10

Autofarm suits experienced DeFi users who want automated vault yields and a DEX aggregator across many chains. Its strengths are broad network coverage, auto-compounding and listed audits. The main caveat is that public sources are dated: the homepage could not be fetched, fees are unpublished, and the continued maintenance of products is unclear. Check the official site and current activity first, and only risk money you can afford to lose.

What is Autofarm?

Autofarm describes itself as a one-stop DeFi suite. It aggregates yield opportunities through vaults and offers a DEX aggregator called AutoSwap. DefiLlama files it under Yield Aggregator.

The project is listed on 20 chains, including BNB Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Fantom, Cronos and Moonriver. DefiLlama shows TVL of about $6.0M, down 2.4% over seven days, and an AUTO token. Two audits are listed.

The homepage could not be fetched and no public reporting were available. The description comes from 2021 and mentions further products, such as AutoAnalytics, AutoTrade and AutoPortfolio, that were planned. Whether they exist today is not established, so treat the product details as dated.

How Autofarm works

A yield aggregator takes deposits from many users into a vault. The vault's strategy stakes or farms in underlying protocols, collects reward tokens, sells them and reinvests, which is known as auto-compounding. Users hold a share of the vault and the value of that share is meant to grow as rewards are reinvested.

Autofarm also offers AutoSwap, a DEX aggregator. Aggregators compare quotes across exchanges and route a trade to get a better rate than a single venue might give.

Returns depend on the underlying farms and the price of reward tokens, so they can change quickly and are not guaranteed.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Yield vaults automate compounding so users do not have to harvest by hand.
  • Includes a built-in DEX aggregator, AutoSwap, alongside the vaults.
  • Listed across 20 chains, giving wide network choice.
  • DefiLlama lists two audits.
  • Still shows roughly $6.0M in TVL, which indicates some remaining capital.

Watch out for

  • The homepage could not be fetched and no public reporting were available, so current product status could not be confirmed from public sources.
  • The listed description dates from 2021 and mentions products as 'set to go live later in 2021' that are not confirmed as launched.
  • Supports many chains, including some legacy ones such as Heco, which raises the risk of stale or lightly used vaults.
  • TVL moved -2.4% over seven days, and no longer-term trend is given publicly.
  • Fee levels are not published publicly, so users must check each vault.
  • Only two audits are listed, with no auditor names or scope.

Autofarm fees

Fee details are not public. Yield aggregators commonly charge a performance fee on harvested rewards and sometimes deposit or withdrawal fees, but the specific rates for Autofarm are not published here.

Users would see vault-level fees on the Autofarm app and in its documentation before depositing. Network gas on each chain and swap costs on AutoSwap are also separate costs.

Is Autofarm safe?

DefiLlama lists two audits, but the project does not name the auditors, give dates or describe findings. Vault funds sit in smart contracts, so bugs, strategy failures or problems in the underlying farms could lead to losses. Public sources report no incidents, but that does not mean none occurred.

The project is non-custodial in the usual sense for vaults, though users depend on the contracts and any admin controls. Many of the listed chains are small or legacy networks, which adds bridge and chain risk. Regulatory status is not stated. This is research from listed data, not hands-on testing, so verify everything on the official site.

6 steps

How to get started with Autofarm

  1. 1

Find the official Autofarm site through its verified social account and avoid links from unsolicited messages.

  2. 2

Confirm the project is still maintained by checking recent announcements and current TVL.

  3. 3

Install a compatible wallet and connect it to a supported network, such as BNB Chain or Polygon.

  4. 4

Review the vault's strategy, fees, and the audit information before choosing one.

  5. 5

Start with a small deposit and keep some of the native gas token for transactions.

  6. 6

Monitor positions and withdraw if strategy rewards or the project's status change.

Who Autofarm is for

Autofarm is aimed at DeFi users who are comfortable with wallets, gas fees and smart-contract risk, and who want to compare yield vaults across several chains. It is not suited to beginners or to anyone who needs guaranteed returns.

Autofarm FAQs

What is Autofarm?

Autofarm is a yield aggregator. Its vaults pool user deposits and put them into farming opportunities, and it also offers a DEX aggregator called AutoSwap for finding swap rates.

Does Autofarm have a token?

DefiLlama lists the AUTO token for Autofarm. The project does not describe its exact utility, so check the project's own documentation before buying or holding it.

Which blockchains does Autofarm support?

DefiLlama lists 20 chains, including BNB Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Fantom, Cronos, Celo, Gnosis, Moonbeam and Moonriver. Some of the listed networks, such as Heco, are legacy chains, so availability may vary.

Is Autofarm safe?

No. Yield vaults carry smart-contract risk, strategy risk and token price risk. DefiLlama lists two audits, but an audit does not guarantee safety, and public sources mention no insurance.

Is Autofarm still active?

Public sources show TVL of about $6.0M and a 2.4% seven-day decline, but they do not confirm that the app is fully maintained. Check recent official announcements and on-chain activity before depositing.
