infiniFi Review 2026: Staked and Locked iUSD Yield

infiniFi is an on-chain, fractional-reserve style stablecoin protocol that mints iUSD from deposits and pays yield on liquid or locked positions. Its pitch is higher yield without leverage, but returns depend on several underlying strategies.

Our verdict on infiniFi

7.2/10

infiniFi suits experienced stablecoin holders who want more yield than basic lending and accept some strategy and liquidity risk. Its main strength is a simple choice between withdraw-anytime staking and higher-yield locking, backed by audits and a transparency dashboard. The main caveat is that advertised yields are projections or maximums, and returns depend on DeFi, credit and real-world-asset strategies. The protocol is also relatively new, so size positions carefully.

What is infiniFi?

infiniFi is a stablecoin yield protocol on Ethereum, Base and Monad. Users deposit stablecoins to mint iUSD, then stake or lock it to earn yield from strategies the protocol manages. DefiLlama lists it in its Yield category with about $70.2 million in TVL and a listing date of May 2025.

The project presents itself as a bank rebuilt on-chain. Its argument is that individual DeFi users cannot easily reach the higher yields available in CeFi and TradFi, and that matching liquid and locked deposits lets it close that gap. The homepage advertises up to 8% APY for staking and up to 12% APY for locking, and compares a 7.4% projected liquid return with Aave, Ethena and Pendle.

DefiLlama lists two audits and no token. The homepage promotes an INFI airdrop registration and a points program, so a token may be planned, but the project does not confirm details.

How infiniFi works

You deposit stablecoins, mainly USDC, and receive iUSD, a receipt token. The protocol puts the deposits to work across yield strategies, including DeFi protocols, tokenized credit and real-world assets, and shares the yield among depositors.

You choose how liquid you want to be. Staking iUSD lets you withdraw at any time and is backed by liquid strategies. Locking iUSD for a chosen period earns more, because locked funds can support longer-term, higher-yield positions.

This resembles fractional-reserve banking: not every deposit is held as instantly available cash, and the locked portion lets the protocol hold less liquid assets. The project says it does this with transparent reserves and no leverage.

7 features

Key features

01

iUSD receipt token

Deposit stablecoins to mint iUSD, a receipt token that represents your position in the protocol. It can be used in the app and across supported DeFi markets.

02

Liquid staking mode

Staked iUSD earns yield from liquid strategies and can be withdrawn at any time. The homepage advertises up to 8% APY.

03

Locked yield mode

Locking iUSD for a chosen duration earns higher yield in exchange for a slower exit. The homepage advertises up to 12% APY.

04

Diversified strategies

Capital is allocated across DeFi protocols, tokenized credit and real-world assets, with yield shared among depositors.

05

Duration-based design

Locked users fund longer-term, higher-yield positions, while liquid users keep funds available. This is the protocol's way of managing the duration gap in banking.

06

Transparency dashboard

A public dashboard tracks protocol TVL, yield accrual and USDC reserves. The site also links to security and audit information and a risk framework.

07

Integrations and points

The project says it integrates with protocols such as Aave, Pendle and Ethena. It also runs a points program and an airdrop registration.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Clear choice between withdraw-anytime staking and higher-yield locking.
  • Homepage states no leverage is used.
  • Yield is spread across DeFi, tokenized credit and real-world assets rather than one source.
  • DefiLlama lists two audits, and the site links to security, audit and risk framework pages.
  • A public transparency dashboard tracks TVL, yield and reserves.
  • Roughly $70 million in TVL suggests meaningful use.

Watch out for

  • The yield figures on the homepage are projections or maximums ("up to" 8% and 12% APY) and can change, so they are not guaranteed.
  • Locking iUSD for higher yield means a slower exit, which reduces flexibility during market stress.
  • Yield comes from a mix of DeFi protocols, tokenized credit and real-world assets, which adds smart-contract, credit and counterparty risk beyond a plain stablecoin deposit.
  • The fractional-reserve design means not all deposits sit in instantly liquid form, so redemption depends on how liquid the strategies are.
  • The protocol is young: DefiLlama lists it since May 2025, so its track record through a full market cycle is short.
  • No fee schedule is shown on the homepage, so users cannot easily judge net returns before depositing.

infiniFi fees

The project does not include a fee schedule. The homepage does not state deposit, withdrawal or performance fees, so net yield may differ from the advertised APY figures.

Users should check the official docs and the app before depositing. Network gas fees on Ethereum, Base or Monad also apply to transactions.

Is infiniFi safe?

DefiLlama lists two audits, and the homepage links to security and audits and a risk framework page. A security contest listing on Cantina also appears in public reporting. The project does not name the auditors or give findings, so read the reports directly.

Deposits are exposed to smart-contract risk, the risk of the underlying DeFi protocols, and credit and counterparty risk from tokenized credit and real-world assets. Because the design is fractional-reserve, redemption speed depends on how liquid the strategies are. The project does not mention any incidents or regulatory status.

6 steps

How to get started with infiniFi

  1. 1

Read the docs, the risk framework and the security and audit pages on the official site.

  2. 2

Check that the app address is the official one linked from the homepage, and connect a compatible wallet.

  3. 3

Deposit stablecoins, such as USDC, to mint iUSD.

  4. 4

Choose to stake iUSD for withdraw-anytime yield or lock it for a set period for higher yield.

  5. 5

Review the transparency dashboard to see TVL, reserves and yield accrual.

  6. 6

Start with an amount you can afford to leave in a smart-contract protocol.

Who infiniFi is for

infiniFi is aimed at stablecoin holders comfortable with DeFi who want higher yield than simple lending and understand the tradeoffs between liquidity and lock-up. It is less suited to anyone who needs a guaranteed return or treats a stablecoin deposit as a bank account.

infiniFi FAQs

What is infiniFi?

infiniFi is a DeFi protocol where users deposit stablecoins such as USDC to mint iUSD, a receipt token. The protocol allocates the deposits across yield strategies and shares the yield among depositors. It describes itself as an on-chain version of a bank built for stablecoins.

What is iUSD?

iUSD is the receipt token minted when you deposit stablecoins. You can stake it to earn yield and withdraw at any time, or lock it for a set duration to earn more. It is not a separate governance token.

What yields does infiniFi advertise?

The homepage says staking earns up to 8% APY and locking earns up to 12% APY. It also shows a projected fully liquid return of 7.4%. These are stated by the project, vary over time and are not guarantees.

Is infiniFi safe?

Not in the sense of being risk-free. The homepage says the protocol uses no leverage, and DefiLlama lists two audits. Funds are still exposed to smart-contract risk, strategy risk and the risks of tokenized credit and real-world assets.

Which chains does infiniFi support?

DefiLlama lists infiniFi on Ethereum, Monad and Base. Check the app to see which chain a given deposit or feature uses.

Does infiniFi have a token?

DefiLlama shows no token for infiniFi. The homepage mentions an INFI airdrop registration and a points program, so a token may be planned. The project does not give details, so check the official docs.
