What Yellow is

Yellow is a Web3 infrastructure project that aims to handle clearing, settlement and cross-chain coordination for financial activity. Its backers describe it as a Layer-3 design: Ethereum provides final settlement, while most activity runs off-chain in state channels. A state channel lets participants exchange signed updates with each other directly and only touch the blockchain when they open a channel, close it, or settle a dispute.

The software layer is called Nitrolite. Off-chain transactions are co-signed by the participants, and smart contracts on-chain can enforce the final outcome if someone disagrees. In each channel at least one participant acts as a clearnode, which routes liquidity and hides some of the differences between supported networks.

The wider Yellow Network is meant to link brokers, decentralized applications, liquidity providers and node operators under one clearing framework. A Yellow SDK is also offered so developers can build on it without managing channel infrastructure themselves. YELLOW is the ecosystem's token, and it is an ERC-20 asset on Ethereum.

What the token is used for

The project's public description says YELLOW is the ERC-20 token that sits at the base of the ecosystem, with the Nitrolite state-channel protocol deployed on top. The material we have does not spell out every function of the token, such as exact staking terms, fee mechanics or collateral requirements for clearnode operators, so we will not guess at them.

What can be said is that the network has several kinds of participants: brokers, applications, liquidity providers and node operators. Any token role would most plausibly relate to coordinating those groups, but readers should treat that as an inference, not a confirmed design. The project's own documentation and token materials are the right place to check current utility, any lock-up or staking features, and how fees are handled.

Be careful with names. Public reporting for the word Yellow also surface unrelated businesses, including an African exchange called Yellow Card, which has no connection to this token. Confirm the contract address from official project channels before interacting with anything.

Supply and tokenomics

YELLOW has a fixed maximum supply of 10 billion tokens, and the total supply matches that figure. About 913 million were circulating as of 2026-11-05, which is roughly 9% of the maximum. That gap matters for valuation: the market capitalization was about $123.9 million, while the fully diluted valuation, which assumes all 10 billion tokens exist at today's price, was about $1.36 billion.

A low circulating share usually means a large amount is still locked, vesting or held by the team, investors, treasury or ecosystem programs. When those tokens are released, supply on the market can rise considerably. The data here does not include the allocation breakdown or unlock schedule, so readers should look up the official tokenomics documentation to see who holds what and when releases occur.

At the time of writing the price was about $0.136, and the token ranked around 232 by market capitalization. Its recorded all-time high was about $0.209 on 2026-10-25, and its all-time low about $0.017 on 2026-07-23. Those figures change constantly and are not a forecast.

Chains, holding and trading

YELLOW is issued on Ethereum as an ERC-20 token. It is not the native coin of its own blockchain, so it is held in any wallet that supports Ethereum tokens, and moving it requires ETH to pay network fees. The project's settlement layer is also Ethereum, while the off-chain channels are meant to connect to several supported networks.

Trading is generally done in two ways. Decentralized exchanges such as Uniswap let you swap from your own wallet against liquidity pools, and some centralized exchanges may list the token too. Availability differs by region and by platform, and it can change. At the time of writing, 24-hour trading volume was about $4.5 million, which is modest compared with the roughly $124 million market cap. Lower volume can mean wider spreads and more price slippage on larger orders.

The token showed a decline of about 5.8% over the previous seven days. No one-year change is available, which fits with a fairly young market history. The launch date was not given in the data we have.

History and notable events

Public sources we have give only a partial history. The recorded low of about $0.017 was on 2026-07-23 and the high of about $0.209 came on 2026-10-25, so the price moved by more than a factor of ten within roughly three months. That kind of range is typical of newer, thinly traded tokens and tells you more about volatility than about the project's fundamentals.

Search snippets about the project refer to a token sale and to a listing service for token creators, as well as describing the network as a peer-to-peer financial information exchange built on state channels. The wording in those snippets is promotional, and we have not verified the claims, so they should be checked against official documentation.

The project's own description presents Yellow as a clearing and settlement layer for exchanges, brokers and, in some descriptions, AI agents. We have no confirmed launch date, audit list or partnership list in our data, and we avoid naming any. Check official announcements for the dates of mainnet releases, token generation and exchange listings.

Risks to understand

Several risks apply. First is market risk: YELLOW is volatile, and a fully diluted valuation roughly eleven times the current market cap implies heavy future supply to be absorbed. Second is smart contract risk. State-channel systems rely on on-chain contracts for dispute resolution, and a bug in those contracts or in the Nitrolite software could put funds at risk. Third is operational risk around clearnodes and brokers: if the network depends on a limited set of operators, outages or misconduct could affect users.

Adoption is another unknown. Clearing infrastructure is only valuable if exchanges, brokers and applications actually use it, and competing approaches to cross-chain settlement exist. Regulatory treatment of clearing and settlement services may also vary by country.

Finally there is impersonation risk. The name Yellow is shared with unrelated companies, and scam tokens often copy popular names. Verify the contract address through official channels, be wary of unsolicited links and airdrops, and only commit money you can afford to lose. This page is general information, not financial advice.

How to store YELLOW safely

Because YELLOW is a standard ERC-20 token, you can keep it in any wallet that supports Ethereum. For anything beyond a small amount, a hardware wallet gives stronger protection than a browser extension or a mobile app, because your private keys stay on a separate device. Write down the recovery phrase on paper, keep it offline, and never type it into a website or share it with anyone, including people claiming to be support staff.

Before sending tokens, copy the contract address from official project channels and check it against what your wallet shows. Send a small test transaction first. Keep some ETH in the same wallet to cover gas fees when you want to move the tokens later.

Be careful when approving smart contracts. Token approvals can let a contract spend your balance, so review each request, and revoke permissions you no longer need. Leaving tokens on an exchange is convenient for trading, but it means trusting the exchange with custody. If you take part in any staking or channel features, read the terms and lock-up rules first.

By the numbers

Yellow in numbers

Yellow (YELLOW) is ranked #224 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $128M and a price of $0.1405 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $1.41B, so roughly 9% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was up 5.3% over 7 days, up 279% over 30 days. It trades about 33% below its all-time high of $0.2087, set on Oct 25, 2026.

About 913.12M YELLOW are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 10B (9% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $6.10M, or 4.8% of its market cap: moderate turnover.

YELLOW has token contracts on Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
