What Ether.fi (ETHFI) is

Ether.fi is a crypto platform that began as a liquid staking and restaking protocol on Ethereum and now describes itself as a crypto neobank. ETHFI is its token. The project says users can save, grow and spend crypto from one connected experience, with non-custodial infrastructure that leaves users in control of their assets.

The product is split into a few parts. Stake gives access to Ethereum staking while keeping the position liquid and usable elsewhere. Liquid runs automated onchain strategies that aim to produce variable yield on eligible assets. Cash covers card spending and payments. The platform also offers trading, transfers and collateralized borrowing, so users can get liquidity without selling their holdings.

The project states that it holds more than $3 billion in assets across the platform. That is a figure the team reports and it can change, so treat it as a snapshot. ETHFI is a separate asset from the staked or liquid ETH products. Owning the token does not mean you hold a staking position, and the reverse is also true.

What the token is used for

The project does not spell out every use of ETHFI, so this section stays short. The token is classed in the liquid restaking governance token category, which points to a governance role: holders may take part in decisions about how the protocol is run, within whatever voting process the project operates at a given time.

It is worth separating the token from the products. Staking ETH, using the Liquid vaults, or spending through the Cash card does not require you to hold ETHFI, based on the project description. The description does not say that the token is needed for any of these.

If you are considering ETHFI for a specific purpose, such as voting, rewards or fee-related features, check the project's official documentation and governance forum for the current rules. Token roles can change through votes, and any benefits described in older articles may no longer apply. Nothing here should be read as a promise of yield or revenue to holders.

Supply and tokenomics

ETHFI has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. At the time of writing, as of 2026-11-05, about 998.5 million are circulating and the total supply is the same figure, so nearly the whole supply is already in the market. Because of that, the fully diluted valuation is about the same as the market cap, roughly $580.5 million.

This matters because many tokens carry large future unlocks that can add selling pressure. Based on the supply data given here, ETHFI is close to the end of that process. The data does not include allocation percentages, vesting schedules or any buyback or burn mechanism, so those are not covered here. Check the project's published tokenomics before drawing conclusions.

Market figures as of 2026-11-05: a price of about $0.58, a market cap rank near 96, and 24-hour trading volume of about $27.4 million. The all-time high was about $8.53 on 2024-03-27, and the all-time low was about $0.27 on 2026-06-05. These numbers move constantly and are context, not a forecast.

Chains, holding and trading

ETHFI is issued on four networks: Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base and Scroll. It is not the native token of any blockchain, so it does not pay for transaction fees on those networks. You would still need the native gas token of whichever chain you use, such as ETH, to move it.

As a standard token, ETHFI can be held in any wallet that supports the network it sits on. Ethereum-compatible software wallets and hardware wallets generally handle this. Holders usually trade it in two ways: on centralized exchanges, where you deposit and withdraw through an account, or on decentralized exchanges, where you swap from your own wallet.

Because the token exists on several chains, check which network a balance is on before sending. Sending tokens to an address on the wrong network, or using an unofficial contract, can cause permanent loss. Always confirm the contract address through the project's official channels and not through a search result or a message from a stranger. Bridging between chains adds its own technical risk, so fewer hops is usually safer.

History and notable events

Ether.fi grew as part of the liquid restaking wave on Ethereum, where staked ETH is reused to secure additional services in exchange for extra yield. The project is tagged in the Restaking and Liquid Restaking Governance Tokens categories. It has also been listed under categories tied to Binance Launchpool, and its backers include investors associated with Consensys and OKX Ventures, according to those category tags.

The launch date is not given in the data, so it is not stated here. Market history is clearer. ETHFI reached its all-time high of about $8.53 on 2024-03-27, and its all-time low of about $0.27 came much later, on 2026-06-05. As of 2026-11-05 the price sits far below the peak. The change was about -10% over the past seven days and about -30% over the past year.

The project's own messaging has also shifted from a staking protocol toward a consumer finance platform, with a card and payments. That is a change in positioning, and whether it works out is not something this page can judge.

Risks to understand

ETHFI is volatile. A fall of roughly 30% over a year and a drop of about 90% from the all-time high show how far the price can move. Past moves say nothing about the future, and this page does not offer buy or sell advice.

Smart contract risk applies to the products around the token. Staking, restaking and vault strategies depend on code and on other protocols, and a bug or exploit in any of them could cause losses. Restaking can also expose staked ETH to extra penalties if a service it secures misbehaves, depending on the setup.

Other risks include governance outcomes you disagree with, thinner liquidity on smaller venues, and concentration among large holders. The neobank side adds regulatory and counterparty considerations, since card issuers, fiat on and off ramps and payment partners operate under their own rules and may restrict access by region. Eligibility and available features can differ by country, and you should follow the local rules and any identity checks that apply to you.

Finally, the project's reported $3 billion in assets is self-reported and does not guarantee safety.

How to store ETHFI safely

For long-term holding, a self-custody wallet gives you control of your keys. A hardware wallet is the usual choice for larger amounts because the private key stays on a separate device. Write your recovery phrase on paper or metal, keep it offline, and never type it into a website or share it with anyone, including people who claim to be support staff.

Before interacting with any app, make sure you are on the official site by checking it against the project's verified social accounts. Phishing sites that copy crypto platforms are common. When a wallet asks you to sign a transaction or approve a token spend, read what you are approving. Unlimited approvals can be revoked later with an approvals tool, and it is sensible to do so for apps you no longer use.

If you leave tokens on an exchange, you rely on that company's security and solvency, and you do not control the keys. Consider using a separate wallet for experimenting with dApps and keeping long-term holdings in another one. Send a small test amount first when moving funds between chains.

By the numbers

Ether.fi in numbers

Ether.fi (ETHFI) is ranked #97 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $571M and a price of $0.5716 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($571M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 5.4% over 7 days, down 24.7% over 30 days, down 32.9% over the past year. It trades about 93% below its all-time high of $8.53, set on Mar 27, 2024.

About 998.54M ETHFI are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (100% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $53.9M, or 9.4% of its market cap: high turnover.

ETHFI has token contracts on 4 chains we track, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Scroll. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

ETHFI is linked to Etherfi, which we cover in our Liquid Restaking rankings. See our Etherfi page for how the protocol works and how we score it.
