GUNZ is a Layer 1 blockchain made by Gunzilla Games, a German AAA game studio. It was built specifically for gaming rather than as a general-purpose network, and it launched to support the player-driven economy of Off The Grid, a large AAA title in Web3. The chain's job is to give players true ownership of in-game assets: loot found in the game can optionally be turned into NFTs and traded.
