Velocimeter V2 Review 2026: Twin-AMM DEX With FLOW Bribes

Velocimeter V2 is a small decentralized exchange that pairs StableSwap pools with standard pools and routes trading fees to people who lock its FLOW token. Liquidity is very low and no audits are listed, so it suits only experienced users who accept that risk.

Our verdict on Velocimeter V2

4.3/10

Velocimeter V2 suits experienced DeFi users who already understand vote-escrow and bribe-driven DEXs and want exposure to a small protocol on Base, Mantle, Pulse or Canto. Its main strength is a clear design that sends all trading fees to FLOW lockers. The main caveat is size and transparency: TVL is only about $24,654, no audits are listed, and fee levels and team details are not published. Treat it as a high-risk, small-position venue.

What is Velocimeter V2?

Velocimeter V2 is a decentralized exchange listed on Base, Pulse, Mantle and Canto. It describes a twin-AMM design that combines StableSwap pools with standard 'kxy' liquidity pools. It has been tracked since March 2023.

The model centers on its emission token, FLOW. Trading fees go to vote-escrowers, meaning holders who lock FLOW, and these lockers earn through trade fees plus internal and external bribes from candidate pools.

The protocol is small. Total value locked is about $24,654, with a modest weekly gain of 2.9%, and no audits are listed. The homepage details, team, and fee levels are not published in the sources reviewed, so users need to verify the official site and pool terms themselves.

How Velocimeter V2 works

Velocimeter V2 is an automated market maker (AMM). Instead of an order book, users trade against pools of tokens funded by liquidity providers. The protocol runs two pool types: StableSwap pools, built for assets that should trade near the same price, and standard 'kxy' pools for other pairs.

The FLOW token is the emission token. To earn from the protocol, holders lock FLOW and become vote-escrowers. Locking gives them votes on which pools receive emissions, and the trading fees collected go to those lockers.

Pools compete for those votes through bribes. Lockers can receive trade fees from the pools they back, internal bribes, and external bribes added by projects that want liquidity. The more attractive the bribes, the more votes a pool tends to attract.

5 features

Key features

01

Twin-AMM design

Combines StableSwap pools for correlated assets with standard 'kxy' pools for other pairs, so both types of trading share one venue.

02

Fees to vote-escrowers

Trading fees go to holders who lock FLOW, rather than being paid out to all token holders without commitment.

03

Triple bribe rewards

Lockers can earn from three sources: trade fees, internal bribes and external bribes tied to the pools they vote for.

04

Multi-chain deployment

The protocol is listed on Base, Pulse, Mantle and Canto, giving users a choice of networks.

05

Emission voting

FLOW emissions are directed by locker votes, which lets pools and projects compete for incentives.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Clear fee model: all trading fees go to FLOW lockers
  • Two pool types cover both correlated assets and general pairs
  • Bribe system lets pools and projects compete for liquidity
  • Deployed on several chains, including Base and Mantle
  • Self-custody trading with no account required

Watch out for

  • Total value locked is only about $24,654, so liquidity is thin and larger trades may see heavy slippage
  • No audits are listed for the protocol
  • The team, governance process and fee percentages are not published in the sources reviewed
  • Returns for lockers depend on bribes from other projects, which can shrink or vanish
  • Emission-token models like FLOW tend to put selling pressure on the token and need continued demand
  • Spread across four chains, including some with limited activity, which fragments liquidity

Velocimeter V2 fees

The sources reviewed do not publish swap fee percentages for Velocimeter V2. Users would see the fee for a given pool in the swap or liquidity interface before confirming a trade or deposit, and should expect to pay network gas on whichever chain they use.

The protocol's stated design sends all trading fees to vote-escrowers of FLOW rather than to a separate treasury. Liquidity providers and lockers should check pool-level numbers and the current bribe amounts in the app before committing funds.

Is Velocimeter V2 safe?

No audits are listed for Velocimeter V2, and the team and security practices are not published in the sources reviewed. As with any DEX, the main risks are smart-contract bugs, thin liquidity, token price swings and phishing sites that imitate the app. Funds stay in your own wallet except when deposited into pools or locked.

Locking FLOW commits tokens for a period, so a price drop while locked cannot be avoided. Liquidity providers also face impermanent loss, especially in standard pools with volatile pairs. Verify the official site, check contract addresses, and use small amounts first. Nothing here is financial advice.

6 steps

How to get started with Velocimeter V2

  1. 1

Decide which supported chain you want to use: Base, Pulse, Mantle or Canto.

  2. 2

Set up a self-custody wallet that supports that network and fund it with the chain's gas token.

  3. 3

Open the official Velocimeter app from a source you have verified, and connect the wallet.

  4. 4

Start with a small swap to see the fee, slippage and price impact on the pool you pick.

  5. 5

If you want to earn, review the pool details before adding liquidity, and note that FLOW must be locked to receive fees and bribes.

  6. 6

Check the lock terms and unlock conditions before locking any FLOW, as locked tokens cannot be sold freely.

Who Velocimeter V2 is for

Velocimeter V2 is for experienced DeFi users who understand liquidity pools, token locking and bribe markets, and who accept the risk of a low-liquidity protocol with no listed audits. It is not a good fit for beginners or for anyone who needs deep liquidity for large trades.

Velocimeter V2 FAQs

What is Velocimeter V2?

Velocimeter V2 is a decentralized exchange (DEX) with a twin-AMM design. It combines StableSwap pools for similar-priced assets with standard 'kxy' pools for other pairs. It is listed on Base, Pulse, Mantle and Canto.

What is the FLOW token used for?

FLOW is the emission token. It has to be locked to earn rewards, and lockers receive trading fees and bribes from candidate pools. Locking gives voting power over where emissions go.

How do vote-escrowers earn?

The protocol describes three streams: trade fees, internal bribes and external bribes. Trade fees come from the pools, and bribes are incentives that projects or pools offer to attract votes. The size of each stream is not published in the sources reviewed.

Is Velocimeter V2 audited?

No audits are listed for the protocol, and total value locked is small at roughly $24,654. That does not mean the contracts are unsafe, but it means there is less independent review and less liquidity than at larger DEXs. Only commit funds you can afford to lose.

Which blockchains does it support?

The protocol is listed on Base, Pulse, Mantle and Canto. Pool availability and depth can differ between them. Check the chain you plan to use in the app before depositing.

What are the fees?

The fee percentages for each pool type are not published in the sources reviewed. Users would see the fee for a pool in the swap or liquidity interface before confirming. You also pay network gas on the chain you use.
