ActiveFluid DEX Review 2026: Smart Collateral and Shared Liquidity
Fluid DEX is the trading layer of Fluid, Instadapp's DeFi protocol, which lets liquidity providers also use their positions as collateral. It holds about $221 million in TVL across five chains, but no audits are listed in the data we reviewed.

Good
Our verdict on Fluid DEX
7.2/10Fluid DEX suits experienced DeFi users who want to earn trading fees on liquidity while also using that position as collateral. Its main strength is the shared liquidity layer, which links swaps, lending and borrowing across five chains, backed by roughly $221 million in TVL. The main caveat is that no audits are listed in the data reviewed and the design is complex. Newcomers should confirm audits in the docs and start small.

What is Fluid DEX?
Fluid DEX is the exchange component of Fluid, a DeFi protocol from Instadapp. The homepage describes it as lending and a DEX on one liquidity layer, where users can earn yield on stablecoins and ETH, borrow against isolated vaults, and swap at the best price.
Its main idea is Smart Collateral. According to DefiLlama, liquidity providers can use their position as collateral in Fluid and also deploy it as AMM liquidity on the DEX, so one deposit does more than one job.
DefiLlama shows about $221 million in TVL across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Plasma and Polygon, with the entry listed since November 2024. The protocol has its own token, FLUID. A status page found in public reporting showed all services online, though the project does not give usage, volume or fee figures.
No audits are listed in the DefiLlama data, and that is the main gap in the information available here.
How Fluid DEX works
Fluid combines lending, borrowing and trading on a shared liquidity layer. Instead of every product holding its own pool, deposits sit in one layer that the vaults and the DEX can draw on. A search result describes the DEX as integrated with the liquidity and vault layers, so liquidity flows into trading without requiring separate pools.
The feature highlighted by DefiLlama is Smart Collateral. A liquidity provider deposits into a DEX pool and receives a position that earns trading fees. That position can then be used as collateral in Fluid, so the LP can borrow against it while the liquidity remains available to traders as AMM liquidity.
Borrowing happens in isolated vaults, according to the homepage. In an isolated design, each vault has its own collateral and debt settings, which limits how far a problem in one market spreads. Borrowers still face liquidation if their collateral value falls too far.

Key features
01
Unified liquidity layer
Lending, vaults and the DEX draw on one shared liquidity layer, so liquidity flows into trading without separate pools for each product.
02
Smart Collateral
LPs can use their liquidity position as collateral in Fluid while it also serves as AMM liquidity on the DEX.
03
Isolated borrowing vaults
The homepage describes borrowing against isolated vaults, which separates the risk of each vault from the others.
04
Lending yield
The homepage says users can earn yield on stablecoins and ETH through the lending side of the protocol.
05
1inch integration
Public reporting indicates Fluid DEX trades can be routed through 1inch, widening access to its liquidity for swappers.
06
Multi-chain deployment
DefiLlama lists deployments on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Plasma and Polygon.
07
Public status page
The project runs a public status page that showed all services online, including a lending API.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Combines lending, borrowing and trading on one liquidity layer, which can make capital use more efficient.
- Smart Collateral lets LP positions double as collateral instead of sitting idle.
- Runs on five chains: Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Plasma and Polygon.
- Reported TVL of about $221 million indicates meaningful deposits.
- Integration with the 1inch aggregator gives trades another route to its liquidity.
- A public status page makes service uptime visible.
Watch out for
- No audits are listed on DefiLlama for this entry, so readers must check the project's own documentation for audit reports.
- Shared liquidity across lending, vaults and the DEX means a flaw in one layer could affect the others.
- Smart Collateral and smart debt are more complex than a standard swap or lending position and are harder for beginners to assess.
- TVL fell 3.4% over seven days, a reminder that deposit levels move with the market.
- Fee levels for swaps, vaults and borrowing are not given publicly, so costs cannot be compared here.
- Some public reporting use the Fluid name for unrelated products, which can cause confusion when looking for the official site.
Fluid DEX fees
Swap fees, vault borrowing rates and lending yields are not published publicly we reviewed. Fees on DEXs like this are usually set per pool, so they can differ between trading pairs.
Users can see current rates, pool fees and slippage in the app or the project's documentation before confirming a transaction. Network gas fees also apply on each chain.
Is Fluid DEX safe?
DefiLlama lists no audits for Fluid DEX. That does not prove none exist, but this review cannot confirm any, so check the official documentation for audit reports and bug bounty details before depositing.
As a non-custodial DeFi protocol, users keep control of their funds through their own wallet, but they take on smart-contract risk. Shared liquidity and borrowing against LP positions add complexity, and borrowers can be liquidated if collateral values drop. Public sources mention no hacks or incidents. Regulatory status is not covered publicly.
6 steps
How to get started with Fluid DEX
- 1
Open the official Fluid site by typing the address from a trusted source and check that you are not on an unrelated product with a similar name.
- 2
Review the documentation and any published audit reports before depositing funds.
- 3
Connect a self-custody wallet and choose a supported network such as Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Plasma or Polygon.
- 4
Start with a small swap to see the quoted price, fee and slippage.
- 5
If you want to provide liquidity or borrow, read how Smart Collateral and isolated vaults work, and check liquidation terms.
- 6
Monitor your positions and keep some native token on the network for gas.
Who Fluid DEX is for
Fluid DEX is aimed at liquidity providers, borrowers and traders who are comfortable with DeFi mechanics and want capital-efficient positions. It is less suited to beginners who only need a simple swap and do not want to manage collateral, vault or liquidation risk.
Fluid DEX FAQs
What is Fluid DEX?
Fluid DEX is the exchange part of Fluid, a DeFi protocol from Instadapp. It shares one liquidity layer with Fluid's lending and vault products, so the same liquidity can support swaps, lending and borrowing.
What is Smart Collateral on Fluid?
Smart Collateral lets liquidity providers use their DEX liquidity position as collateral in Fluid while it is also deployed as AMM liquidity. The DefiLlama description presents this as letting LPs put the same capital to work in two ways.
Which chains does Fluid DEX support?
DefiLlama lists Fluid DEX on Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Plasma and Polygon. A community proposal found in public reporting also covers deploying Fluid DEX on Arbitrum as part of expansion across Layer 2s.
Does Fluid have a token?
Yes, its token is FLUID according to DefiLlama. The project does not describe the token's utility, supply or distribution, so check the project's documentation for those details.
Is Fluid DEX safe?
The DefiLlama entry lists no audits, so this review cannot confirm any. The project does not mention incidents either. Before depositing, look for audit reports in the official documentation and consider that DeFi smart contracts always carry risk.
Can I trade on Fluid through aggregators?
A search result states that Fluid DEX is integrated with the 1inch aggregator, so trades placed through 1inch can be routed via Fluid's Liquidity Layer. This is based on a social post quoted in public reporting.
