Hundred Finance Review 2026: Compound Fork After the 2023 Exploit
Hundred Finance is a multi-chain lending and borrowing protocol forked from Compound V2. A roughly $7.4 million exploit in 2023 and a tiny remaining TVL make it a high-risk place to deposit funds.

Our verdict on Hundred Finance
3.0/10Hundred Finance is a standard Compound V2-style lending protocol across eight chains, now best understood as a case study in fork risk. The design is familiar and uses Chainlink oracles, but the $7.4 million exploit in 2023, a TVL of about $68,000 and unclear current maintenance weigh heavily. It suits experienced DeFi users researching the protocol or its history. It is a poor fit for anyone looking for a safe place to earn yield or borrow.

What is Hundred Finance?
Hundred Finance is a decentralized lending and borrowing protocol. It is described as a community-owned fork of Compound Finance that uses Chainlink oracles, and as the successor to Percent Finance. It is listed on eight networks: Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Gnosis, Fantom, Harmony and Moonriver.
The project's defining event is the April 16, 2023 attack, which caused a loss of about $7.4 million. Analysts have since grouped it with other Compound V2 fork exploits from that period. Total value locked is now only about $68,000, a small fraction of what a functioning money market usually holds.
The native token is HND, with a listed maximum supply of 100 million. It trades at roughly half a cent, and some trackers show a circulating supply of zero. Two audits are listed for the protocol, but the reports, the team, and the current state of development are not published in the sources available.
How Hundred Finance works
Hundred Finance works like Compound V2. Depositors supply tokens to a shared pool and receive receipt tokens that represent their share plus accrued interest. Borrowers lock collateral in the same system and can then borrow other assets up to a set collateral factor.
Interest rates move with how much of each pool is borrowed. If a borrower's collateral value falls too far relative to their debt, other users can liquidate part of the position for a bonus. Chainlink oracles supply the prices used for these checks.
This design depends on code correctness and on markets with enough liquidity. Compound V2 forks have been exposed to specific attack patterns, particularly in newly listed or low-liquidity markets, and Hundred Finance was one such case in 2023.

Key features
01
Pooled lending markets
Users deposit crypto into pooled markets and earn interest from borrowers, following the Compound V2 model.
02
Overcollateralised borrowing
Borrowers lock collateral and can borrow other supported assets against it, subject to collateral limits and liquidation rules.
03
Chainlink oracles
The protocol uses Chainlink price feeds to value collateral and debt, a standard choice for Compound-style markets.
04
Multi-chain deployment
Deployments are listed across eight networks, including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Gnosis, Fantom, Harmony and Moonriver.
05
HND token
HND is the native token, with a listed maximum supply of 100 million.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Follows the well-understood Compound V2 pooled-lending model, so the mechanics are easy to understand
- Uses Chainlink price oracles for collateral and debt valuation
- Deployed on eight networks, giving a wide historical footprint
- Two audits are listed for the protocol
- Has a native token, HND, with a stated maximum supply of 100 million
Watch out for
- Lost about $7.4 million in an April 2023 attack on its Compound V2 codebase, a major track-record problem
- TVL is now only about $68,000, far below what a lending market needs for deep liquidity
- Spread across eight chains, so users must track many separate deployments, some on little-used networks
- The HND token trades at a fraction of a cent and its circulating supply is listed as zero by some trackers
- The official website could not be confirmed, so current maintenance and support status is unclear
- Team, fee schedule and audit details are not published
Hundred Finance fees
Hundred Finance does not publish a fee schedule in the sources available. As with other Compound V2 forks, the main costs are likely to be the borrow interest rate, which floats with market utilisation, and network gas on whichever chain is used. Users would see current rates on the market pages inside the app.
The interest rate paid to depositors and charged to borrowers is not stated, and neither are liquidation penalties or any protocol reserve factor. Check these in the app before using it.
Is Hundred Finance safe?
The main safety fact is the April 2023 exploit, which cost about $7.4 million. That incident shows the protocol's smart contracts and market configuration were vulnerable despite listed audits. Audits reduce risk but do not remove it, and the audit reports are not published in the sources available.
Lending protocols carry smart-contract risk, oracle risk, liquidity risk and, on small deployments, the risk that governance or maintenance has stopped. With TVL around $68,000, withdrawals and liquidations may not work as expected. Regulatory status is not stated. Treat any deposit as high risk and verify current official channels before connecting a wallet.
6 steps
How to get started with Hundred Finance
- 1
Confirm the project's current official channels, since the homepage could not be verified and the protocol was exploited in 2023.
- 2
Decide whether you accept the risk of total loss, and only consider amounts you could lose entirely.
- 3
Pick one of the supported networks and set up a wallet that works on it, with enough native token for gas.
- 4
Review the current market pages for supply and borrow rates, collateral factors and available liquidity.
- 5
If you proceed, start with a small test deposit and check that you can withdraw it before committing more.
- 6
Monitor your positions and collateral ratio to avoid liquidation if you borrow.
Who Hundred Finance is for
Hundred Finance is mainly relevant to experienced DeFi users, researchers and former depositors who want to understand the protocol's history or check old positions. It is not a good fit for beginners or for anyone seeking a lending venue with deep liquidity and a clean security record.
Hundred Finance FAQs
What is Hundred Finance?
Hundred Finance is a decentralized lending and borrowing protocol. It is a community-owned fork of Compound Finance and uses Chainlink price oracles. It is the successor to Percent Finance.
Was Hundred Finance hacked?
Yes. On April 16, 2023, Hundred Finance was attacked and lost about $7.4 million. The incident is widely cited as one of several attacks on Compound V2 forks that year.
Which blockchains does Hundred Finance run on?
Deposits are listed on Arbitrum, Fantom, Polygon, Gnosis, Optimism, Ethereum, Harmony and Moonriver. Activity on most of these chains may be minimal today.
What is the HND token?
HND is the protocol's native token, with a listed maximum supply of 100 million. It trades at roughly half a cent per token on some trackers, and its use as a governance and incentive token depends on a protocol with very little activity left.
Is Hundred Finance safe to use in 2026?
There is no basis to call it safe. It suffered a major exploit, its TVL is small, and the team's current activity is not confirmed. Anyone considering it should assume a real risk of total loss and check the latest official channels first.
How do borrowing and interest rates work?
Borrowers post collateral and borrow other assets, paying interest set by pool utilisation, as in Compound V2. The fee and interest parameters are not published, so check the app's market pages directly.
