Beets DEX V3 Review 2026: Balancer v3 and stS on Sonic

Beets DEX V3 is the Balancer v3-based exchange and liquid staking hub on the Sonic chain. It suits users who want to hold stS and LST pools on Sonic, but liquidity is small and it depends on a single chain.

Our verdict on Beets DEX V3

6.8/10

Beets DEX V3 is a focused option for users in the Sonic ecosystem who want to swap, provide liquidity in LST pools or stake S through stS. Its strengths are the Balancer v3 foundation, a clearly documented 10% staking fee and the maBEETS governance design. The main caveats are small liquidity, dependence on one chain and the fact that audit details must be checked on the project's own pages. It suits DeFi users who understand pool and smart-contract risk.

What is Beets DEX V3?

Beets DEX V3 is the Balancer v3 version of Beets, a decentralized exchange and liquid staking hub on the Sonic chain. The project describes itself as the flagship LST hub on Sonic, combining token swaps, liquidity pools focused on liquid-staked tokens, and its own liquid staking token, stS.

The app has pages for pools, swaps, portfolio, staking S and maBEETS. DefiLlama lists the V3 deployment on Sonic with about $811k in TVL, and it has been tracked since January 2025. The homepage shows higher platform-wide figures of $5.55m TVL, $100.52k 24h volume and $838.72 24h fees.

The BEETS token is used in governance through the maBEETS system. Terms of use, privacy, cookie and risk pages are linked from the site, and the team publishes docs and open-source code.

How Beets DEX V3 works

Beets is an automated market maker. Instead of an order book, users deposit tokens into liquidity pools and traders swap against those pools. Liquidity providers earn a share of swap fees and any incentives. Beets V3 runs on Balancer v3, which supports custom pool types, hooks that add pool logic, and boosted pools that route idle assets into lending markets.

For liquid staking, a user converts S to stS. The staking rewards accrue to the position while stS stays tradable and usable in other DeFi apps. Beets documentation says the stS contract is a single smart contract with minimal dependencies, and the protocol takes a 10% fee on rewards after validator fees.

Governance uses maBEETS. A user provides liquidity to the 80/20 BEETS/stS pool to get fBEETS, then deposits it to mint a maBEETS position linked to a relic NFT. Voting power and rewards rise with the position's maturity and size, and there is no hard lock-up.

Key features

01

Balancer v3 DEX

Swap tokens and add liquidity to pools on Sonic using Balancer v3 technology, which supports custom pools and a hooks framework for added pool logic.

02

stS liquid staking

Stake S to receive stS and earn network staking rewards while keeping the position liquid and usable elsewhere in DeFi.

03

LST-focused pools

Pools focus on liquid-staked tokens, aiming to earn yield from swap fees and incentives.

04

100% boosted pools

Boosted pools integrate lending opportunities so idle liquidity can earn extra yield, according to the homepage.

05

maBEETS governance

Deposit fBEETS into a maBEETS position tied to a relic NFT. Voting power and rewards grow as the position matures, without a lock-up.

06

Portfolio tracking

The app has a portfolio view to track pool and staking positions in one place.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Built on Balancer v3, which supports custom pools, hooks and boosted pools
  • Offers its own liquid staking token, stS, so users can stake S and keep the position usable in DeFi
  • Fee on stS is clearly documented: 10% of rewards after validator fees
  • maBEETS gives voting power that grows with maturity rather than requiring a hard lock-up
  • Open-source code, docs and a dedicated risks page are available
  • Focus on liquid-staked token pools gives a specific niche on Sonic

Watch out for

  • Small liquidity base: DefiLlama lists TVL of about $811k for the V3 deployment, and the homepage shows $5.55m across the platform, so large swaps may see price impact
  • Runs only on Sonic, so it is tied to one chain's health and activity
  • No audits are listed in DefiLlama's data; the homepage says code is audited but the audit reports are only reachable through a separate link
  • maBEETS involves a relic NFT and an 80/20 BEETS/stS pool position, which is harder for newcomers to understand
  • Liquid staking and boosted pools add smart-contract and lending-protocol risk on top of ordinary AMM risk
  • Daily volume and fees shown on the homepage ($100.52k and $838.72) are modest, so fee income for liquidity providers may be limited

Beets DEX V3 fees

Fees depend on the product. For stS liquid staking, Beets documentation says it takes a 10% protocol fee on staking rewards after validator fees. The APY shown in the interface is described as the APY the user receives, with all fees already deducted.

Swap fees vary by pool and are set per pool on Balancer v3. The homepage showed $838.72 of 24h fees on $100.52k of volume. A full fee schedule is not published on the homepage, so check each pool's page in the app before trading or depositing.

Is Beets DEX V3 safe?

Beets states that its contracts are audited, its code is open source and it monitors the ecosystem. DefiLlama lists no audits for this deployment, so verify the audit reports linked from the Beets site before depositing. The team's identities, a bug bounty and any past incidents are not covered in the material here.

Risks include smart-contract bugs in the Beets and Balancer v3 code, risk from lending markets used by boosted pools, impermanent loss for liquidity providers, and stS price drift from S during stress. Liquidity is modest, so thin pools can mean higher slippage. The site links a risks page that users should read.

The protocol is non-custodial: users keep their assets in their own wallet and interact via smart contracts. Check that using DeFi is legal where you live.

6 steps

How to get started with Beets DEX V3

  1. 1

Set up a wallet that supports the Sonic network and fund it with S for gas.

  2. 2

Open the Beets app and connect the wallet.

  3. 3

To stake, convert S to stS from the Stake S page and review the displayed APY.

  4. 4

To trade or earn fees, browse the pools page, check each pool's fee, TVL and tokens, then swap or add liquidity.

  5. 5

For governance, join the Fresh Beets Pool (80/20 BEETS/stS) to get fBEETS, then deposit it to mint a maBEETS position.

  6. 6

Use the portfolio page to monitor positions and read the audit and risk pages before committing larger amounts.

Who Beets DEX V3 is for

Beets suits DeFi users already on Sonic who want to stake S, trade LST pairs or earn swap fees and incentives through pools. It also fits governance-minded holders of BEETS who want maturity-based voting rights. Newcomers should start with small amounts and read the risks page, since pools, boosted positions and relic NFTs add complexity.

Beets DEX V3 FAQs

What is Beets DEX V3?

Beets DEX V3 is a decentralized exchange on the Sonic chain built on Balancer v3. It lets users swap tokens, provide liquidity to pools and stake S to receive the liquid staking token stS.

Which blockchain does Beets use?

The platform runs on Sonic. DefiLlama lists Sonic as its only chain.

What is the BEETS token used for?

BEETS is the protocol's token. Users can pair it with stS in the Fresh Beets Pool (80/20 BEETS/stS) to receive fBEETS, then deposit that into a maBEETS position for voting power and rewards.

What is stS?

stS is a liquid staking token for Sonic's S. You convert S to stS, earn staking yield, and can still use stS in liquidity pools and lending markets. Beets takes a 10% protocol fee on rewards after validator fees, according to its documentation.

Is Beets safe to use?

The homepage says the code is audited and open source, and DefiLlama lists no audits. Check the audit reports linked from the site yourself. Any DeFi protocol carries smart-contract risk, so only use funds you can afford to lose.

What are the fees for swapping on Beets?

The homepage shows 24h fees of $838.72 against $100.52k of volume. Each pool sets its own swap fee, which you can see in the app before adding liquidity or swapping.
