What NEXO is

NEXO is the native token of Nexo, a company that runs a crypto wealth platform. Nexo says it has operated since 2018 and serves clients in more than 200 jurisdictions. The platform offers interest-bearing savings (flexible and fixed-term), loans backed by crypto collateral, an exchange and trading tools, and a crypto debit/credit card.

The NEXO token sits on top of that business as a loyalty and account-benefit token. It is not the gas token of its own blockchain. Our data lists no chain where NEXO is the native coin, and it exists as a token issued on existing networks.

Because the token's value is closely tied to one company's products, it is usually grouped with exchange-style tokens. Its usefulness depends on Nexo continuing to operate, keeping its programs running, and not changing the benefits attached to the token. At the time of writing it ranks around 85th by market capitalization, so it is a mid-sized asset rather than a top-tier one.

What the token is used for

According to the project, holding NEXO unlocks perks inside a Nexo account. The headline benefit is interest of up to 12% a year on NEXO held in the Savings and Credit Line wallets. Holding the token also gives access to the Nexo Loyalty Program, where higher tiers are described as bringing better terms.

The project lists these loyalty benefits:

  • Higher yields on other digital assets
  • Up to 0.5% crypto cashback on purchases or swaps made through the Nexo Exchange
  • Borrowing rates starting from 2.9% annual interest
  • Up to 2% crypto cashback when using the Nexo card

All of these are the platform's own terms. Rates, tier requirements and eligibility can differ by country and account type, and Nexo can change them. Check the current rules inside the Nexo app before relying on any figure.

Outside the platform, NEXO is mostly something people trade. There is no widely known use of the token in third-party dApps that this page can confirm, so its practical utility is tied to Nexo's own services.

Supply and tokenomics

NEXO has a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. In our data the circulating, total and maximum supply all show the same 1 billion figure, which also means the fully diluted valuation equals the market capitalization.

As of 2026-11-05, the price was about $0.76, giving a market cap of roughly $763.8M. Reported 24-hour trading volume was about $4.6M, which is small relative to the market cap. Over the prior seven days the price had moved about -4.1%, and over one year about -27.4%.

The all-time high was about $4.07 on 2021-05-12, and the all-time low was about $0.045 on 2018-09-12.

The data we have does not describe how the original supply was allocated, nor does it detail any burn, buyback or vesting schedule. If those mechanics matter to you, read the project's own documentation and recent announcements rather than relying on third-party summaries. Nothing here is a forecast of future price.

Chains, holding and trading

NEXO is issued on Ethereum, Fantom and Polygon. Ethereum is the original and most commonly used home for the token, while the other two are alternative networks. Make sure you know which network a given address or exchange deposit uses before sending funds, because tokens sent on the wrong network can be lost.

There are two broad ways people hold NEXO. One is inside a Nexo account, where the token sits in the platform's custody and earns the benefits described above. The other is in a personal wallet that supports the relevant network, where you control the keys but do not automatically get account perks.

For trading, NEXO is listed on several centralized exchanges, and the project points to Binance as the most active venue, with NEXO/USDT as the main pair. Availability depends on your country and the exchange's own rules, so check what is permitted where you live.

Nexo also runs a multichain bridge for top-ups and withdrawals. The project says it is fee-free for Gold and Platinum loyalty tiers on networks such as Algorand, Arbitrum and Avalanche.

History and market context

Nexo launched its platform in 2018, and the all-time low in our data falls in that year. The token's price peaked in May 2021 during the broad crypto bull market, at about $4.07. Since then it has traded far below that level and, as of 2026-11-05, sat roughly 80% beneath the peak.

Our data does not give a specific token launch date, so none is stated here. It also does not detail the company's milestones, so this page does not recount them.

One thing worth knowing is classification. Some data aggregators tag NEXO as an alleged securities token, a label that reflects ongoing regulatory debate in some markets rather than a court finding in every jurisdiction. It is also tagged as a crypto card issuer token and an exchange-based token.

For current news, such as changes to loyalty tiers, supported regions or regulatory matters, rely on the company's official announcements and regulators' public statements rather than social media threads.

Risks to understand

The main risk is concentration. NEXO's utility depends on one company. If Nexo changes its rates, tiers or product availability, the benefits that give the token its purpose can shrink without any change to the token itself.

Counterparty risk matters too. Assets held in a custodial platform are not in your own wallet. Withdrawals, interest payments and loan terms depend on the company's solvency, controls and legal standing. Past failures of other crypto lenders show that this risk is real.

Other risks to weigh:

  • Regulation: Rules for lending, interest products and tokens labeled as securities vary by country and can change, which may limit access.
  • Liquidity: Daily volume is modest compared with the market cap, so large orders can move the price.
  • Volatility: The token has fallen substantially from its 2021 high and over the past year.
  • Rate changes: Advertised yields are maximums that depend on tier and conditions and are not guaranteed.

How to store NEXO safely

Where you keep NEXO depends on what you want from it. If you want the loyalty benefits, the token has to be held in a Nexo account, which means trusting the company with custody. Protect that account with a strong unique password, an authenticator app rather than SMS where possible, and any withdrawal whitelisting or extra security options the platform offers.

If you only want to hold the token, a self-custody wallet on Ethereum, Polygon or Fantom is an option. A hardware wallet adds protection for larger amounts. Write down your recovery phrase offline, never type it into a website or share it, and store a backup somewhere safe.

Before moving any meaningful amount, send a small test transaction and confirm the network matches on both sides. Be wary of fake support accounts, phishing emails and look-alike sites that imitate Nexo, and check approvals you grant to smart contracts. Keep exchange balances to what you actively need, since an exchange account is not the same as holding your own keys.

By the numbers

NEXO in numbers

NEXO (NEXO) is ranked #85 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $726M and a price of $0.7262 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($726M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.

The price was down 4.3% over 7 days, down 13.1% over 30 days, down 31.8% over the past year. It trades about 82% below its all-time high of $4.07, set on May 12, 2021.

About 1B NEXO are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (100% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $5.97M, or 0.8% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

NEXO has token contracts on 3 chains we track, including Ethereum, Fantom, Polygon. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
