What Enjin Coin is
Enjin Coin (ENJ) is the token tied to Enjin, a blockchain ecosystem focused on games and digital collectibles. Enjin began in 2009 as a community gaming platform, founded by Maxim Blagov and Witek Radomski. It moved toward blockchain in 2017 and became known as an early NFT project. It also helped develop the ERC-1155 token standard on Ethereum, which lets one smart contract handle many kinds of assets, such as fungible items and unique ones.
Over time Enjin grew from a single token into a set of products. These include the Enjin Blockchain, a Substrate-based proof-of-stake network built for NFTs and other digital assets. They also include the Enjin Wallet, a mobile wallet for cryptocurrencies and NFTs, and the NFT.io marketplace. For developers there is the Enjin Platform, an API and SDK toolkit meant to help games and apps add blockchain assets without building everything from scratch.
ENJ sits at the centre of this setup. It began life as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, and the project's own network now uses it too. Data providers classify it under gaming, NFT, metaverse and layer 1 tokens, which reflects how many roles the project covers.
What the token is used for
The publicly described uses of ENJ fall into three groups. The first is creating digital assets. Developers use ENJ when they mint NFTs and other tokens for games, apps and virtual items on Enjin's tools. Enjin has long described ENJ as a way to give those assets a value tied to the coin.
The second use is network participation. On the Enjin Blockchain, holders can stake ENJ in nomination pools, which feed into the selection and oversight of validators. That ties the token to the security of the chain and to its governance.
The third use is governance itself. Holders can take part in votes on network proposals. Recent coverage mentions that the deposit needed to submit a proposal was raised to 1,000 ENJ, along with new features such as fixed-term NFT loans and scheduled token expiry. Treat those details as reported by third parties and check the project's own documentation for the current rules.
ENJ is also traded as an ordinary asset on exchanges, and many holders never use it for any of the functions above. Having a use case does not guarantee demand for the token, and usage varies a lot between games and applications.
Supply and tokenomics
At the time of writing, as of 2026-11-05, about 2.01 billion ENJ were circulating, with a total supply of about 2.04 billion. The data lists no fixed maximum supply, so the total can change over time. Third-party tokenomics reports describe the supply as largely unlocked, and note that part of it is inflationary in order to pay for network security and validators. The Enjin Blockchain went through a consolidation in which the Efinity network and its EFI token were folded into the ENJ system, which affected how supply and staking are described.
A large share of ENJ has been reported as staked. One report from late 2024 put it at around 42 percent, but that figure moves and is out of date, so check a current source before relying on it.
On market size, ENJ ranked around 451 by market capitalisation as of 2026-11-05. Its market cap was about $49.3 million, with a fully diluted value of about $49.8 million. Daily trading volume was about $2.5 million, which is modest. These are small numbers for a project of this age, so prices can move sharply on relatively little trading.
Chains, holding and trading
ENJ was issued on Ethereum as an ERC-20 token, and that remains its best-known form. It is also issued on Harmony, a separate network. Enjin's own chain, the Enjin Blockchain, is a Substrate-based network, and ENJ is used there for staking, fees and governance. The data lists no chain for which ENJ is the native token, so the picture is mixed: it exists as a token on other chains and has a role on the project's own network.
Most people hold ENJ in one of three ways. They may keep it on a centralised exchange, in a self-custody wallet that supports Ethereum tokens, or in the Enjin Wallet, which the project provides. Which version of ENJ you hold matters. A token on Ethereum, a token on Harmony and a token on the Enjin Blockchain are not interchangeable without a bridge or exchange step, and sending to the wrong network can mean lost funds.
ENJ trades against major assets and stablecoins on a number of exchanges. Liquidity differs between venues, and thin order books can make larger trades more expensive than the quoted price suggests.
History and notable events
ENJ launched on 2017-10-02, during the wave of token sales that year, and the project soon became linked with gaming NFTs. Its work on the ERC-1155 standard was an important contribution, because the standard is now widely used for game items and collectibles across Ethereum-based projects.
The token reached an all-time high of about $4.82 on 2021-11-25, at the peak of the NFT and metaverse boom. After that, prices fell with the wider market and with weaker interest in blockchain gaming. The all-time low of about $0.0174 came on 2026-03-07, much later than the previous bear market, which shows how long the weakness has lasted. As of 2026-11-05 the price was about $0.0244, roughly 34 percent lower than a year earlier, and down about 1.5 percent over the past seven days.
On the technical side, Enjin built its own chain on Substrate and later merged the Efinity network into it, concentrating its activity around ENJ. The project has also released the Enjin Platform and the NFT.io marketplace, aiming to make NFT integration easier for developers. None of this guarantees adoption, and the figures above describe what happened, not what will happen.
Risks to understand
ENJ carries the usual risks of a small-cap crypto asset, plus some of its own.
Price and liquidity. The market cap is under $50 million, and the price is far below its 2021 peak. Smaller assets can swing widely and can be hard to sell in size without moving the price.
Sector risk. Demand for ENJ depends partly on whether game studios and brands actually build on Enjin's tools. Blockchain gaming has had a difficult stretch, and some projects have shut down or moved away from NFTs.
Competition. Many networks, including general-purpose chains and other gaming-focused ones, offer similar NFT tooling. Enjin has to keep winning developers.
Tokenomics changes. There is no fixed maximum supply, and rules for inflation, staking and governance can be altered by governance votes. Rewards from staking come from inflation and are not risk-free income.
Technical and custody risk. Bridges, wallets and smart contracts can fail or be attacked. Staking may involve lock-up or unbonding periods during which funds cannot be moved.
Confusion between versions. Having ENJ on Ethereum, Harmony and the Enjin Blockchain means mistakes are easy when transferring.

How to store ENJ safely
How you store ENJ depends on how much you hold and how you plan to use it. For small amounts you plan to trade soon, an exchange account may be convenient, but you rely on the exchange to hold your funds and stay solvent. Use a strong unique password and two-factor authentication through an authenticator app rather than SMS.
For longer-term holdings, a self-custody wallet gives you control of the keys. A hardware wallet that supports Ethereum tokens is generally considered the safer choice for larger balances, because the private keys never leave the device. The Enjin Wallet is an option if you want to hold ENJ alongside NFTs and use the project's own features, though you should read its current documentation first.
Some practical habits help. Write your recovery phrase on paper and keep it offline in a safe place, never in a photo, email or cloud note. Check which network a deposit address uses before sending, and send a small test amount first. Be careful with approvals you give to dApps and marketplaces, and revoke those you no longer need. Treat unsolicited messages, fake airdrops and support impersonators as scams. Nobody legitimate will ask for your recovery phrase.

ENJ FAQs
What is Enjin Coin used for?
ENJ is used to create and back NFTs and other digital assets built with Enjin's tools. It can also be staked on the Enjin Blockchain in nomination pools and used in network governance. Many holders simply trade it on exchanges.
What is the supply of ENJ?
No fixed maximum supply is listed in the data. As of 2026-11-05 about 2.01 billion ENJ were circulating, with a total supply of about 2.04 billion. Part of the supply is inflationary to fund network security, so totals can change.
Which blockchains does ENJ run on?
ENJ started as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and is also issued on Harmony. It has a role on the Enjin Blockchain, the project's own Substrate-based chain. Tokens on different networks are not interchangeable without a supported transfer method.
Why is ENJ far below its all-time high?
Reasons often cited are the end of the 2021 NFT and metaverse boom, weaker interest in blockchain gaming and the small size of the market today. ENJ reached about $4.82 on 2021-11-25. As of 2026-11-05 it traded near $0.024, after a low in March 2026.
Can I stake ENJ?
Holders can stake ENJ in nomination pools on the Enjin Blockchain, which supports validator selection and network oversight. Rewards come from network inflation and are not guaranteed, and staking can involve lock-up or unbonding periods. Check the current rules before staking.
How should I store ENJ?
A hardware wallet that supports Ethereum tokens is often chosen for larger amounts, since the keys stay offline. The Enjin Wallet is another option for ENJ and NFTs. Whatever you pick, keep your recovery phrase offline and confirm the network before every transfer.
What is the market cap of Enjin Coin?
