What Amp is

Amp (AMP) is a token built to act as collateral. Its project description calls it a digital collateral token that gives instant, verifiable assurances for value transfers. The idea is that a payment or other transfer can be backed by locked assets, so the receiving party does not have to wait for a slow settlement process to feel safe.

The design uses two main pieces. Collateral partitions are slices of a token balance that can be assigned to back an account, an application or even a single transaction. Their balances can be checked directly on the Ethereum blockchain. Collateral managers are smart contracts that lock, release or redirect the collateral in those partitions as needed.

Amp also describes predefined partition strategies. One of these allows a model in which tokens are staked without leaving their original address. This is a project claim about the design, not something this page has verified.

Amp is best understood as infrastructure for other networks, not as a standalone app. The Flexa payment network is the best-known example of a network that uses it.

What AMP is used for

The main use of AMP is as collateral. Public descriptions say it works as escrow-style backing for the Flexa payment network. When a payment is made, collateral held in the system stands behind it, so the transaction can be treated as secure quickly and cannot be easily reversed.

Beyond payments, the project says the collateral system can support other asset-related activity, such as exchanges or loan distributions, anywhere a party wants verifiable backing for a transfer. The details of each integration depend on the network using it.

People who hold AMP can generally lock it as collateral through the apps and contracts that support it. What they receive in return, and under what conditions, is set by those platforms and can change. This page does not state any yield or reward rate, because such figures vary and are not part of the verified data.

AMP is not the gas token of a blockchain. It is a token that runs on existing chains and gets its demand mainly from how much collateral the systems built on it need.

Supply and tokenomics

AMP has a maximum supply of 100 billion tokens. As of 2026-11-05, about 89.8 billion were in circulation and the total supply was about 99.7 billion. That means most of the supply is already circulating, and the gap between market cap and fully diluted value is small.

At the time of writing, the price was about $0.00067. The market cap was about $60.3 million and the fully diluted valuation about $66.9 million. The token ranked around 391 by market cap, with roughly $3.4 million in 24-hour trading volume. These numbers move constantly, so treat them as a snapshot.

The large unit supply explains the very small per-token price. A low price per coin does not mean a token is cheap or expensive. Market cap, which multiplies price by circulating supply, is the more useful comparison.

the public information available here do not describe vesting schedules, burn mechanics or inflation, so this page does not make claims about them. Anyone researching the token should read the official documentation and check the contract data directly for current supply figures.

Chains, holding and trading

AMP is issued on Ethereum, where it exists as an ERC-20 token, and on Near. It is not the native token of any blockchain. The Ethereum version is the one tied to the collateral partition design described in the project's own material, since those balances are verifiable on that chain.

In general terms, people hold AMP in self-custody wallets that support the chain the token lives on, or leave it on an exchange account. Because it is an ERC-20 token, an Ethereum wallet can display it once the correct contract is added. Sending it requires a small amount of ETH to pay network fees.

Trading happens in two broad ways. Centralized exchanges list the token and let users trade it through an account. Decentralized exchanges let wallet holders swap tokens directly through smart contracts. Availability changes over time and depends on your region, so check which venues are open to you and what their rules are.

The Near version should be treated as a separate token representation. Confirm which chain a deposit address belongs to before sending, as sending to the wrong network can mean lost funds.

History and notable events

The launch date is not given in the data used for this page, so it is left out here. What is clear from market records is the price path. AMP reached an all-time high of about $0.1208 on 2021-06-16. At the time of writing it traded far below that level.

The token also set an all-time low of about $0.000356 on 2026-08-19. As of 2026-11-05 it had recovered somewhat from that low but remained down about 70.6% over the previous year. The seven-day change was roughly flat, at about -0.6%.

The project is associated with the Flexa payment network, and the token's story is closely linked to it. Market-data categories also place AMP in DeFi, payments, and the Ethereum and Near ecosystems. One of those categories is a label reading alleged SEC securities, which is a classification used by a data provider and not a ruling stated on this page. Pantera Capital appears in the portfolio tagging as well.

This page does not claim specific partnerships, integrations or events beyond what the project description and the data above support.

Risks to understand

Price risk comes first. A drop of about 70.6% in a year shows how volatile the token has been, and an all-time high far above the current price is no guide to where it goes next. Nothing here is a prediction or a recommendation to buy or sell.

Smart contract risk matters because AMP's purpose is to lock collateral inside contracts. A bug, an exploit or a flaw in a collateral manager could affect funds that are locked. Using a platform that builds on the token adds that platform's own risks on top.

Dependence on one ecosystem is another factor. The token's demand is tied largely to the networks that use it as collateral, so changes in how those networks operate could affect it.

Regulatory uncertainty is a further point, given the alleged securities label in some market-data categories. Rules differ by country and can change.

Liquidity can also be thin at times. Daily volume of a few million dollars means large orders may move the price. Finally, fake tokens and scam sites copy popular names, so always verify the contract address from an official source.

How to store AMP safely

Because AMP is an ERC-20 token, any Ethereum-compatible wallet can hold it. For anything beyond a small amount, a hardware wallet keeps the private keys offline and is generally considered safer than keeping tokens in a browser or phone wallet.

Write your recovery phrase on paper or metal and store it somewhere private. Never type it into a website, share it in a chat, or photograph it. No genuine support team will ask for it.

Before adding the token, check the contract address against the project's official documentation, and be wary of tokens that appear in your wallet unprompted, as these are often scams. Do not approve contract permissions you do not understand, and review and revoke old approvals from time to time.

If you lock AMP as collateral through an app, remember that tokens in a smart contract are exposed to that contract's risks. Read what the platform requires, how and when you can withdraw, and any lock-up conditions first. Test with a small transfer before moving a larger amount, and always confirm you are sending to the right network.

By the numbers

Amp in numbers

Amp (AMP) is ranked #396 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $57.8M and a price of $0.0006433 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $64.1M, so roughly 90% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was up 0.6% over 7 days, up 7.9% over 30 days, down 72.5% over the past year. It trades about 99% below its all-time high of $0.1208, set on Jun 16, 2021.

About 89.78B AMP are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 100B (90% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $5.30M, or 9.2% of its market cap: high turnover.

AMP has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, Near. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
