What Magma Finance is

Magma Finance is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol built on the Sui blockchain. Public descriptions also say it targets MOVE-based blockchains more broadly. At its core it is a liquidity and trading venue, a type of automated market maker (AMM), where users swap tokens against pools of assets supplied by other users rather than against an order book.

Public summaries say Magma uses an Adaptive Liquidity Market Maker design, often shortened to ALMM. The documentation is described as covering two liquidity systems, including a concentrated liquidity market maker. Concentrated liquidity lets providers place their funds inside chosen price ranges instead of spreading them across every possible price. The aim is better capital efficiency, meaning deeper trading for the same amount of money.

MAGMA is the protocol's token. At the time of writing it ranks around 330th by market capitalization, and data aggregators group it under DeFi, AMM and Sui ecosystem tokens. It has also appeared on a Binance Alpha spotlight list, which is a discovery feature rather than a sign of quality or endorsement.

What MAGMA is used for

Descriptions from several sources point to three roles for MAGMA. The first is governance: holders are said to be able to propose and vote on changes such as new features and upgrades. The second is liquidity incentives, where the token is used to reward people who supply assets to the protocol's pools. The third is a general application utility role, covering transaction-related incentives inside the protocol.

These are typical functions for a DeFi exchange token, and the exact mechanics matter more than the labels. For example, how much voting power a holder gets, whether tokens must be locked to vote, and how rewards are split between pools are all details set by the protocol's own documentation and may change over time. Anyone considering using the token should read the current official documentation rather than rely on summaries.

The project does not describe fee-sharing or buyback arrangements, so this page does not claim any.

Supply and tokenomics

The token's maximum and total supply are both 1 billion MAGMA, so no further issuance beyond that cap is indicated. About 190 million tokens, roughly 19%, were circulating as of 2026-11-05.

That gap matters. At roughly $0.39 per token, the market capitalization was about $74.9 million, while the fully diluted valuation, which assumes all 1 billion tokens exist at the same price, was about $394.3 million. The remaining 81% of supply is not yet circulating, and tokens released later can add selling pressure if demand does not keep up.

Public sources do not include the allocation split between team, investors, community and ecosystem, nor the unlock schedule. Public explainers mention an airdrop and tokenomics, but readers should check the project's official tokenomics documentation for allocation and vesting details before drawing conclusions.

Chains and how it is traded

MAGMA is issued on Sui and is not the native coin of any chain. Holding it requires a Sui-compatible wallet, and transactions on Sui are paid for in SUI, so a small SUI balance is needed to move or swap the token.

The token can be traded on centralized exchanges that list it and on decentralized venues on Sui, including Magma Finance's own pools. Which platforms are available depends on your region and the exchange's current listings, which change often. As of 2026-11-05, 24-hour trading volume was about $3.6 million, which is modest relative to the market cap, so large orders can move the price noticeably.

When swapping on a decentralized exchange, check the token's contract address against the official project sources. Fake tokens with the same name and ticker are a common problem across new ecosystems.

History and notable events

Public sources describe MAGMA as launched in 2025, although the exact date is not given in the data used here. Its price history is short and volatile. The recorded all-time low was about $0.07 on 2026-04-02, and the all-time high was about $0.81 on 2026-07-04. As of 2026-11-05 the price was about $0.39, roughly half of that peak, after a gain of about 40% over the previous seven days.

Such swings are normal for a young, mid-cap DeFi token. A one-year change figure is not available. Articles from late 2025 and 2026 cover its airdrop and its Adaptive Liquidity Market Maker design, and a listing on the Binance Alpha spotlight also shows in its category tags. Funding round information is listed on a few data sites, but the amounts and investors are not confirmed here, so none are stated.

Risks to understand

Several risks apply. Price volatility is high, and the token has moved sharply in both directions within months. Dilution is a second concern, since only about 19% of the total supply circulates and later unlocks could add supply. Liquidity is a third: moderate daily volume means exiting a large position may be costly.

Smart contract risk is inherent to any AMM. Bugs, exploits or flawed pricing logic can lead to loss of user funds, and newer protocols have less time-tested code. Liquidity providers also face impermanent loss, where the value of their deposited assets can lag behind simply holding them, and concentrated liquidity positions can magnify this when prices leave the chosen range.

Finally, governance and incentive tokens depend on continued usage of the protocol. If trading activity or rewards decline, the token's role may weaken. This page is informational and not financial advice.

How to store MAGMA safely

For a token on Sui, a self-custody wallet that supports Sui gives you control of your keys. Write down the recovery phrase offline, never store it in a screenshot, cloud note or chat, and never share it with anyone, including people claiming to be support staff. For larger holdings, a hardware wallet that supports Sui adds protection against malware.

Keep a small SUI balance for fees. Before approving any transaction, check what the wallet says it will do, and be cautious with unfamiliar sites asking you to connect or sign. Airdrop claims are a frequent phishing route, so reach claim pages only through the project's verified channels.

If you leave tokens on an exchange, you rely on that company's security and solvency. Enable two-factor authentication with an authenticator app and use withdrawal allowlists where offered. If you provide liquidity, remember that funds placed in a pool are held by smart contracts, not by your wallet, and carry the contract risks described above.

By the numbers

Magma Finance in numbers

Magma Finance (MAGMA) is ranked #401 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $55.7M and a price of $0.2931 as of Nov 7, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $293M, so roughly 19% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 23.4% over 7 days, up 31.5% over 30 days. It trades about 64% below its all-time high of $0.8082, set on Jul 4, 2026.

About 190M MAGMA are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (19% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $12.2M, or 22% of its market cap: high turnover.

MAGMA has token contracts on Sui. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

MAGMA is the token of Magma Finance, a DeFi protocol on the Sui blockchain. Public sources describe it as used for governance votes, liquidity rewards and incentives within the protocol.

Which blockchain does MAGMA run on?

MAGMA is issued on the Sui network. It is not the native coin of its own blockchain, and you need a Sui wallet and a little SUI to pay transaction fees.

What is the supply of MAGMA?

The maximum and total supply are both 1 billion tokens. About 190 million, roughly 19%, were circulating as of 2026-11-05, so more supply may enter the market as the rest is released.
