ActiveWanLend Review 2026: Small Cross-Chain Lending on Wanchain
WanLend is a pool-based lending and borrowing protocol on the Wanchain network, with a small TVL and a limited track record. It suits Wanchain users who want yield on their assets, not those who need deep liquidity.

Our verdict on WanLend
4.7/10WanLend is a straightforward pool-based lending market for the Wanchain ecosystem, with cross-chain asset support in V2 and a long operating history. It may suit Wanchain users who want to earn interest on assets like wanBTC and accept small-protocol risk. The main caveats are very low TVL, no listed audits in the tracker data, unpublished fees and an illiquid WAND token. Read the audit documentation and start small.

What is WanLend?
WanLend is a decentralized lending and borrowing platform on Wanchain. Its description says users can deposit crypto to earn interest, or borrow crypto and pay interest. The tracker has listed it since August 2022.
The project began as a Compound-style fork on Wanchain, according to an early blog post. WanLend V2 was later announced as a cross-chain lending protocol built by the WanLend team on Wanchain's multi-chain mechanism, alongside a WAND token launch. WanSwap's integration material also lists WanLend as the ecosystem's lending and borrowing platform.
It is small. Total value locked is about $172,000, and the WAND token has a market cap of around $61,000 with minimal daily volume. Its homepage could not be read, and the page title appears as WanBank2. The project does not publish team, licence or fee details in the material reviewed.
How WanLend works
WanLend works like other pool-based lending markets. Suppliers deposit assets into a shared pool and receive a claim on that pool that grows as borrowers pay interest. Borrowers lock collateral, take a loan from the pool, and must keep the value of their collateral above a required threshold.
If the collateral value falls too far, the position can be liquidated by others to repay the debt. Interest rates normally rise when most of a pool is borrowed and fall when plenty of funds sit idle. This is the model of Compound, which an early blog post says the first WanLend version was based on.
WanLend V2 is described as using Wanchain's cross-chain infrastructure, so assets from other blockchains can be represented on Wanchain and used in the lending pools. This adds reliance on the bridge and wrapping layer as well as on the lending contracts.
6 features
Key features
01
Deposit to earn interest
Users supply assets to lending pools and earn interest paid by borrowers.
02
Pool-based borrowing
Users can borrow crypto from the pools against collateral and pay interest on the loan.
03
Cross-chain asset support
V2 is built on Wanchain's multi-chain mechanism, so assets such as wanBTC can be supplied from outside the native chain.
04
Wanchain wallet access
A guide describes connecting one of the wallets supported by the Wanchain ecosystem, including WanMask.
05
Documentation and governance links
The project links to governance and code audit pages from its documentation.
06
Compound-style design
A blog post describes the first version as a Compound-style fork on Wanchain, a familiar design for lending markets.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Clear, familiar pool-based lending model for depositors and borrowers.
- Cross-chain design in V2 allows assets such as wanBTC to be used as supply on Wanchain.
- Documentation includes a getting-started guide, governance and code audit pages.
- Listed since 2022, so it has operated for several years.
- Integrated into the wider Wanchain DeFi ecosystem alongside its swap and bridge products.
Watch out for
- Total value locked is only about $172,000, so liquidity is thin and large deposits or loans could move rates sharply.
- The project does not publish audit reports on its main listing, and no audits are recorded in the tracker data.
- Runs only on Wanchain, a small ecosystem with fewer users, wallets and integrations than Ethereum-based lenders.
- The WAND token has a market cap of roughly $61,000 and very low daily volume, so it is illiquid.
- Interest rates, collateral factors and fees are not stated on the pages reviewed.
- No team, licence or insurance information is published.
WanLend fees
WanLend does not publish a fee schedule on the pages reviewed. Interest rates for suppliers and borrowers are set by pool utilisation in this type of protocol, and users would see current rates in the markets view of the app.
On top of interest, users pay Wanchain network gas fees for deposits, borrows, repayments and withdrawals. Any protocol reserve factor or liquidation penalty is not stated in the material reviewed, so check the documentation before borrowing.
Is WanLend safe?
The tracker records no audits for WanLend, although the project's documentation links to a code audit page. Audit scope, auditor and findings are not covered in the material reviewed. Users should read the report and confirm it applies to the deployed V2 contracts.
Deposits sit in smart contracts, so bugs, oracle failures or bad-debt events could cause losses. Cross-chain assets add bridge and wrapping risk. With a TVL of roughly $172,000, a single large position could strain liquidity. The project does not publish a licence, insurance cover or team information. No hacks are noted publicly reviewed, but a lack of incidents is not proof of safety. Treat any deposit as high risk.
6 steps
How to get started with WanLend
- 1
Check that the official WanLend site and its documentation match, and read the code audit page.
- 2
Set up a Wanchain-compatible wallet, such as WanMask or another wallet the guide lists, and fund it with a small amount of WAN for gas.
- 3
Bring in the asset you want to supply, using Wanchain's cross-chain tools if it originates on another network.
- 4
Open the supply markets list in the app and choose an asset, for example wanBTC.
- 5
Deposit a small amount first and confirm that the interest rate and balance display as expected.
- 6
If borrowing, keep your loan well below the collateral limit and monitor prices to avoid liquidation.
Who WanLend is for
WanLend is for existing Wanchain users and DeFi participants comfortable with small, niche protocols who want to lend or borrow assets within that ecosystem. It is a poor fit for anyone needing deep liquidity, large loan sizes or an extensively audited protocol.
WanLend FAQs
What is WanLend?
WanLend is a decentralized lending and borrowing platform on Wanchain. Users deposit crypto into pools to earn interest, or borrow from those pools and pay interest. The second version, WanLend V2, is described as pool-based and built to use Wanchain's cross-chain mechanism.
Which blockchain does WanLend use?
WanLend runs on Wanchain. The tracker data lists no other networks. Assets from other chains can reach it as wrapped tokens, such as wanBTC, through Wanchain's cross-chain infrastructure.
Does WanLend have a token?
Yes. The project has a token called WAND, introduced alongside the V2 launch according to a Chinese-language announcement in public reporting. Market data shows a tiny market cap of roughly $61,000 and very low volume, so the token is illiquid.
Has WanLend been audited?
The project's documentation links to a code audit page, but the tracker data records no audits. The audit scope and auditor are not covered in the pages reviewed, so read the audit report yourself before depositing.
How big is WanLend?
Total value locked is about $172,000, down roughly 2.9% over the past week. That is small for a lending protocol, so liquidity for large withdrawals or loans may be limited.
Is WanLend safe to use?
Smart-contract bugs, liquidation of borrowers if collateral prices fall, thin liquidity and the small size of the Wanchain ecosystem are the main risks. Only deposit funds you can afford to lose.
