Our verdict on FinNexus
4.5/10FinNexus suits experienced DeFi users who want to study a small, older options protocol that uses pooled liquidity across Ethereum, BNB Chain and Wanchain. Its strengths are the range of supported assets and the two listed audits. The main caveat is the thin TVL of about $232K and the fact that its homepage could not be checked, which leaves its current status unclear. Verify activity on official channels first and keep any exposure small.

What is FinNexus?
FinNexus is a decentralized options protocol. DefiLlama describes FinNexus Options as a way to buy and exercise options on BTC, ETH, BNB, LINK, SNX, MKR and WAN using pooled liquidity. It is listed on Ethereum, BNB Chain and Wanchain.
Public reporting describes it as a multi-blockchain protocol built on the Wanchain blockchain. A review dated January 2020 treats it as a new project. Public information here don't say when it launched.
DefiLlama shows about $232K in total value locked, up 0.1% over seven days, and lists two audits. The FNX token is listed with a very low price. The homepage could not be fetched, so we cannot confirm whether the product is still maintained.
How FinNexus works
Options give the buyer the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell an asset at a set price before a set date. The buyer pays a premium up front for this right.
FinNexus uses pooled liquidity. Liquidity providers deposit assets into a shared pool, and that pool takes the other side of option trades. Buyers pay premiums, and the pool pays out if an option finishes in the money. Liquidity providers earn premiums but bear the risk of payouts.
The protocol says it supports options on BTC, ETH, BNB, LINK, SNX, MKR and WAN. The project does not describe the pricing model, collateral rules or settlement process in detail.

Pros and cons
What we like
- Offers options on a range of assets, including BTC, ETH, BNB, LINK, SNX, MKR and WAN
- Pooled liquidity means buyers do not need a counterparty to match their order
- Deployed on three chains: Ethereum, BNB Chain and Wanchain
- DefiLlama lists two audits for the protocol
- Non-custodial design, as is typical for decentralized options protocols
Watch out for
- Very small TVL of about $232K limits liquidity depth and the range of options that can be filled
- Homepage could not be fetched, so current product status and interface are unverified
- Few details published on fees, strikes, expiries or settlement
- FNX token has a very low reported price, which signals weak market interest
- Options pricing and pooled-liquidity mechanics carry risk for liquidity providers that the project does not quantify
- Public information is dated, with the cited reviews going back to 2020
FinNexus fees
Fees are not published publicly available. Premiums, pool fees and exercise or settlement costs are not stated. Users would see them in the protocol's interface before confirming an options purchase.
Network gas fees on Ethereum, BNB Chain or Wanchain would apply on top of any protocol charges.
Is FinNexus safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits, but the project does not name the auditors or show the findings. An audit reduces risk without removing it. Options protocols also carry risks from pricing, oracle inputs and pool solvency.
TVL is low at about $232K, so liquidity is thin. The homepage could not be fetched, so we cannot verify whether the front end and contracts are still maintained. No hacks or incidents appear, but that does not prove there were none. Check the official channels and the audit reports before depositing, and only risk money you can afford to lose.
6 steps
How to get started with FinNexus
- 1
Find the official FinNexus site through the project's verified social accounts, since the homepage could not be checked here.
- 2
Confirm which of the supported chains is live: Ethereum, BNB Chain or Wanchain.
- 3
Read the audit reports and documentation on how the options pool and settlement work.
- 4
Connect a compatible wallet and fund it with the asset and gas token for the chosen chain.

Start with a small trade, and check the premium, strike and expiry before confirming.
- 6
Track open positions and exercise before expiry if the option is in the money.
Who FinNexus is for
FinNexus is for experienced DeFi users who understand options, premiums and liquidity pool risk, and who are comfortable researching a small, older protocol before using it. It is not suited to beginners or to anyone who needs deep liquidity.
