Valantis STEX is a modular DEX design on HyperEVM, with an AMM built for staked assets such as stHYPE. It suits Hyperliquid users who want to earn on HYPE liquidity, but the TVL is small and the product is tied to one ecosystem.

Our verdict on Valantis STEX

7.0/10

Valantis STEX suits Hyperliquid users who hold HYPE and want to earn on it through liquid staking and a purpose-built stHYPE AMM. Its main strength is a focused design that aims to keep stHYPE pegged without impermanent loss, backed by a named audit. The main caveat is size and scope: about $3.2 million TVL, a single chain, and yield claims that come from the project itself. Check the audits and docs, and start small.

What is Valantis STEX?

Valantis STEX is the AMM design behind Valantis' stHYPE pool on HyperEVM, the smart-contract layer of Hyperliquid. DefiLlama lists it as a DEX and describes it as a modular DEX with an AMM built for staked assets. It has been listed since April 2025.

The homepage presents a wider suite for people who hold HYPE: stHYPE liquid staking, the stHYPE AMM, Prime DCA and Prime Trading. The pitch is that HYPE can stay productive and liquid at once, earning yield while also getting fee discounts.

TVL on DefiLlama is about $3.2 million, with a 2.7% drop over seven days. The homepage reports 34,518 unique wallets, though its own TVL and volume counters show $0. Valantis has no token listed.

How Valantis STEX works

Valantis is a modular DEX protocol. Its STEX design powers the stHYPE AMM, a pool made for liquid staking tokens. A liquid staking token represents staked HYPE, so its value tracks the underlying asset closely.

The project says the AMM integrates with native withdrawal mechanisms. The aim is to keep the stHYPE price stable against HYPE and to protect withdrawals. Liquidity providers deposit HYPE and earn from swap fees, lending yield and staking yield, paid in native HYPE.

Around the AMM, Valantis adds products for stHYPE holders: Prime Trading, which discounts Hyperliquid trading fees, and Prime DCA, which lets users accumulate HYPE or BTC while stablecoins earn yield.

Key features

01

stHYPE AMM

A pool design built for liquid staking tokens. It aims to integrate with native withdrawal mechanisms so the pair holds its peg.

02

stHYPE liquid staking

Users stake HYPE and receive stHYPE, a liquid staking token that can be used across HyperEVM, including for borrowing.

03

Prime Trading discounts

Holders of stHYPE can get up to 40% off trading fees across Hyperliquid perps, spot and HIP-3 markets. The beta is invite-first.

04

Prime DCA

Described as the first DCA product on Hyperliquid. It lets users accumulate HYPE or BTC while idle stablecoins earn yield.

05

Modular DEX framework

The protocol is built on a modular framework, which lets liquidity be integrated with other products and pools.

06

HyperCore transfers

Users can move HYPE from HyperCore to HyperEVM inside the Valantis app, which simplifies deposits.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Purpose-built AMM for liquid staking tokens, aimed at keeping stHYPE close to its peg.
  • Audited, with Pashov Audit Group named on the homepage and two audits listed on DefiLlama.
  • Project reports no impermanent loss in stHYPE AMM pools, with yield paid in native HYPE.
  • Extra products for HYPE holders: Prime DCA and Prime Trading with up to 40% fee discounts.
  • Docs, GitHub, security page and a media kit are published.

Watch out for

  • TVL is small, about $3.2 million, and fell 2.7% over seven days, so liquidity depth is limited.
  • Runs on a single chain (HyperEVM), which ties its fortunes to the Hyperliquid ecosystem.
  • The stHYPE AMM is built for staked assets, so it is not a general-purpose DEX for arbitrary token pairs.
  • Yield claims such as "highest yielding" and "no loss" are the project's own statements and are not independently verified here.
  • Prime Trading discounts are in beta and open to invited users first, so not every user can access them.
  • Liquid staking adds layers of risk: smart contracts, the staking token's peg and the underlying validator setup.

Valantis STEX fees

Valantis does not publish a single fee schedule on its homepage. The stHYPE AMM earns from swap fees, and the live fee for each pool is shown in the app.

The Prime Trading page cites a 0.045% base taker fee in its savings calculator, with discounts of up to 40% depending on how much stHYPE is held. Staking yield and any protocol fee on it are set out in the docs, not stated on the homepage.

Is Valantis STEX safe?

Pashov Audit Group is named on the homepage, and DefiLlama lists two audits. The security page and docs hold the audit reports and contract addresses. Audits reduce risk but do not remove it, and the reports themselves should be read before depositing.

Liquid staking and AMM deposits carry smart-contract risk, peg risk on stHYPE, and dependence on Hyperliquid's own infrastructure. Funds are held in on-chain contracts rather than by a company. The homepage does not name the team or describe any regulatory status, and it links to Terms of Service. No incidents appear in the information available.

6 steps

How to get started with Valantis STEX

  1. 1

Set up a wallet that supports HyperEVM and fund it with HYPE.

  2. 2

Open the Valantis app and, if needed, transfer HYPE from HyperCore to HyperEVM.

  3. 3

Stake HYPE to receive stHYPE, or deposit HYPE into the stHYPE AMM to earn from swaps.

  4. 4

Read the docs and the security page, including audits and contract addresses, before depositing large amounts.

  5. 5

Start with a small amount and check the pool's current fees and yield in the app.

  6. 6

If you trade on Hyperliquid, check whether you qualify for the Prime Trading beta.

Who Valantis STEX is for

Valantis fits HYPE holders on Hyperliquid who want liquid staking, LP yield tied to stHYPE, or trading fee discounts. It is less suited to people who want a general-purpose DEX with many token pairs, or who avoid single-ecosystem exposure.

Valantis STEX FAQs

What is Valantis STEX?

STEX is the AMM design behind Valantis' stHYPE AMM on HyperEVM. It is built for staked assets and is meant to earn from swap fees while working with native withdrawal mechanisms.

Which blockchain does Valantis run on?

Valantis lists Hyperliquid (HyperEVM) as its chain. The site also describes one surface for HyperEVM and HyperCore.

How does stHYPE generate yield?

The project says stHYPE earns base staking yield of 2.2% APY, plus extra yield paid by HIP-3 and stablecoin businesses on Hyperliquid. These figures come from the project and can change.

Does the stHYPE AMM have impermanent loss?

Valantis says its stHYPE AMM pools have no impermanent loss and earn from swap fees, lending yield and staking yield. Smart-contract and peg risks still apply, so this is not a guarantee of safety.
