Our verdict on QiDao
6.0/10QiDao suits DeFi users who hold crypto long term and want stablecoin liquidity without selling, and who understand liquidation mechanics. Its main strengths are the advertised 0% interest and wide multi-chain reach. The main caveat is that TVL is modest, public sources leave out detail on collateral, stablecoin design and other fees, and any CDP can be liquidated in a sharp market drop. Read the vault terms and keep a generous collateral buffer.

What is QiDao?
QiDao is a collateralized debt position (CDP) protocol. According to its DefiLlama description, it lets people keep their crypto while still spending its value, by borrowing stablecoins without selling the underlying assets, at 0% interest.
DefiLlama tracks about 2.2 million USD in TVL, up about 1% over the past seven days. It is deployed on 14 chains, including Polygon, Base, Ethereum, Avalanche, Optimism, Arbitrum and BNB Chain. The protocol has a token, QI, and two audits are listed.
Its homepage is empty, so this review leans on DefiLlama data. Details such as supported collateral, stablecoin design and governance are not covered here.
How QiDao works
QiDao works as a collateralized debt position system. A user deposits a supported crypto asset into a vault and can then mint or borrow a stablecoin up to a limit set by a collateral ratio. The collateral stays locked while the debt is open.
To get the collateral back, the user repays the borrowed stablecoin. If the collateral value drops so the position falls below the minimum ratio, the position can be liquidated, meaning part or all of the collateral can be sold to cover the debt.
The appeal is that you can access spendable value without selling your assets, which can matter for tax or long-term holding reasons. The trade-off is that you carry liquidation risk and rely on smart contracts and the stablecoin keeping its value.

Pros and cons
What we like
- Borrow stablecoins without selling your crypto
- Advertised 0% interest on borrowing
- Available on many networks, including major Ethereum layer 2s
- Two audits listed on DefiLlama
- Established CDP model that is easy to understand
Watch out for
- Homepage is empty, so many product details cannot be confirmed from the source material
- Collateralized debt positions can be liquidated if collateral value falls too far
- Spread across many chains, including some low-activity ones such as Harmony, Moonriver and Fantom, which adds bridge and chain risk
- TVL of about 2.2 million USD is small for a lending-style protocol
- Fees beyond the claimed 0% interest (for example repayment or liquidation charges) are not stated publicly
- Only two audits are listed and public sources give no detail on scope or dates
QiDao fees
Public sources state that borrowing is offered at 0% interest. They do not publish other fees, such as repayment, deposit or withdrawal charges, or liquidation penalties.
Users would normally see vault-specific terms, minimum collateral ratios and any fees inside the app before confirming a position. Network gas fees on the chosen chain also apply.
Is QiDao safe?
DefiLlama lists two audits for QiDao, but the project does not name the auditors, dates or findings. Audits reduce but do not remove smart-contract risk. Users keep their wallets, but collateral is locked in smart contracts while a loan is open.
The main user-facing risks are liquidation if collateral falls in value, stablecoin peg risk, and bridge or chain risk from the many networks supported. No incidents are mentioned publicly, and regulatory status is not stated. Check recent project announcements before depositing.
6 steps
How to get started with QiDao
- 1
Reach the official app through the project's verified channels and check the address carefully.
- 2
Connect a compatible wallet and select the network you want to use.
- 3
Review the available vault types, collateral ratios and any fees shown for your chosen asset.
- 4
Deposit collateral and borrow a modest amount, keeping a wide buffer above the liquidation threshold.
- 5
Monitor your collateral ratio and repay or add collateral if prices fall.
- 6
Repay the debt to withdraw your collateral when you are done.
Who QiDao is for
QiDao is for experienced DeFi users who hold crypto and want to borrow stablecoins against it, on a range of networks, without selling. It is less suitable for beginners who do not yet understand liquidation ratios and smart-contract risk.
QiDao FAQs
What is QiDao?
QiDao is a collateralized debt position (CDP) protocol. Users deposit crypto as collateral and borrow a stablecoin against it instead of selling their holdings. DefiLlama lists it in the CDP category.
Does QiDao really charge 0% interest?
The DefiLlama description says users can borrow stablecoins at 0% interest. Other costs, such as fees on repayment or liquidation penalties, are not stated publicly, so check the app before opening a position.
Which blockchains does QiDao support?
DefiLlama lists QiDao on Polygon, Base, Ethereum, Avalanche, Optimism, Fantom, Linea, Metis, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Gnosis, Moonbeam, Moonriver and Harmony. Not every vault type is necessarily available on every chain.
Does QiDao have a token?
Yes, the protocol has a token called QI according to DefiLlama. The project does not describe its exact role, so read the project documentation for utility and governance details.
Is QiDao safe?
Like any CDP, it carries liquidation risk if your collateral falls below the required ratio, plus smart-contract risk and stablecoin peg risk. DefiLlama lists two audits, but audits do not remove these risks.
Where do I use QiDao?
Public sources list an official app address on the mai.finance domain. Make sure you reach it from the project's official channels, such as its listed Twitter account, to avoid imitation sites.
