Levinswap Review 2026: A Small Gnosis Chain AMM Run by LightningDAO

Levinswap is a Uniswap-style automated market maker on Gnosis Chain (formerly xDai), built by LightningDAO. It is a small, niche exchange with low liquidity, so it suits experimenters more than active traders.

Our verdict on Levinswap

5.0/10

Levinswap is a small Uniswap-style DEX on Gnosis Chain that combines swaps, pools, farming and staking, backed by LightningDAO. It suits users already active on Gnosis who want to try a niche LEVIN market or farm. The main caveat is liquidity: with roughly $80,000 locked and falling, slippage and exit risk are real, and fees and audit details are not clearly published. Treat it as a low-size experiment, not a core trading venue.

What is Levinswap?

Levinswap is an automated market maker (AMM) decentralized exchange on Gnosis Chain, previously known as xDai. It is described as a Uniswap fork and was built by LightningDAO, a DAO aiming to build a multichain DeFi ecosystem on top of Layer 2 solutions.

The interface offers token swaps, liquidity pools, a Farm section and a Stake section, along with shortcuts for adding the LEVIN token to MetaMask and buying xDai. The project has a public GitHub presence with 30 repositories, and the data lists three audits.

The protocol is small. Total value locked is around $80,000, and one source reports a 13% decline over 30 days. A video from a creator also covered a collaboration with RealToken aimed at raising liquidity yields, which points to an earlier push to attract stablecoin and real-estate token liquidity on Gnosis.

How Levinswap works

Levinswap is an automated market maker. Instead of matching buyers and sellers, it holds pools of two tokens. A formula sets the price based on the ratio of tokens in the pool, and each swap shifts that ratio.

Liquidity providers deposit pairs of tokens into a pool and receive pool tokens representing their share. They earn a portion of trading fees, and the Farm section offers extra rewards for staking those pool tokens. Stake lets holders lock LEVIN or related tokens.

Because the design follows the Uniswap model, risks are familiar. Providers face impermanent loss when prices diverge, and traders face slippage when pools are shallow. With a small TVL, both effects are more pronounced.

6 features

Key features

01

AMM token swaps

Swap tokens directly from your wallet through liquidity pools, without an account or order book.

02

Liquidity pools

Users can add tokens to pools to supply liquidity, which is the basis for trading on the platform.

03

Yield farming

The interface includes a Farm section where liquidity providers can seek additional token rewards.

04

Staking

A Stake section lets holders lock tokens within the protocol's own system.

05

Wallet and gas shortcuts

The interface links to adding the LEVIN token to MetaMask and to buying xDai for gas.

06

Open code and audits

The project has a public GitHub presence with 30 repositories, and the data lists three audits.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Familiar Uniswap-style design that is easy to understand for anyone who has used a DEX
  • Runs on Gnosis Chain, where gas costs are typically low
  • Offers swaps, pools, farming and staking in one interface
  • Public code repositories and three listed audits
  • Has its own token, LEVIN, and an associated DAO behind it

Watch out for

  • Total value locked is only about $80,000, so liquidity is thin and large trades can move prices sharply
  • Runs only on Gnosis Chain, which limits users and trading pairs
  • TVL has been drifting down, with one source reporting a 13% fall over 30 days
  • Team members and detailed governance are not published beyond the LightningDAO name
  • Fee schedule and audit details are not spelled out publicly in the sources available
  • The LEVIN token trades at a very low price with limited reported activity

Levinswap fees

Levinswap's fee schedule is not published in the sources reviewed. Swap fees, liquidity provider shares and any farm reward terms are shown inside the swap and pool screens of the interface before you confirm.

On top of protocol fees, each transaction costs gas paid in xDai on Gnosis Chain. This is usually small compared with Ethereum mainnet, but the exact amount varies with network conditions.

Is Levinswap safe?

Levinswap is a non-custodial DEX, so you keep your keys and interact with smart contracts directly. The data lists three audits, but the auditors and findings are not detailed in the sources reviewed. Audits reduce but do not remove smart-contract risk, especially for forked code.

The small TVL adds practical risk: shallow pools can be manipulated or can produce heavy slippage, and exiting a position may cost more than expected. The interface warns users to verify the domain, which matters because fake front ends are a common DeFi scam. No incidents are reported in the sources reviewed, and the team does not publish named members. Check local rules on trading crypto where you live.

6 steps

How to get started with Levinswap

  1. 1

Set up a wallet such as MetaMask and add the Gnosis Chain network.

  2. 2

Get some xDai for gas, using the buy xDai shortcut or an exchange that supports Gnosis Chain.

  3. 3

Open the Levinswap interface and check carefully that the domain is the official one.

  4. 4

Connect your wallet and pick the tokens you want to swap.

  5. 5

Review price impact and slippage, then confirm the transaction in your wallet.

  6. 6

If you want to provide liquidity, use the Pool section, then look at Farm or Stake for reward options.

Who Levinswap is for

Levinswap fits users who already hold assets on Gnosis Chain and want a simple AMM for small swaps or niche pairs. It also suits liquidity providers who understand impermanent loss and accept the risk of a low-TVL protocol. Traders who need deep liquidity or large order sizes will likely find better venues.

Levinswap FAQs

What is Levinswap?

Levinswap is an automated market maker (AMM) decentralized exchange on Gnosis Chain, formerly called xDai. It is described as a Uniswap fork built by LightningDAO, a group focused on multichain DeFi on top of Layer 2 solutions.

Which blockchain does Levinswap use?

The project runs on Gnosis Chain. The sources reviewed do not list any other network, so you need a wallet connected to Gnosis and a small amount of xDai to pay gas.

What is the LEVIN token?

LEVIN is the native token of the protocol. It trades against assets such as WETH on Levinswap itself and is also tied to the farm and stake sections of the interface. Its price is very low and moves with thin liquidity.

How much liquidity does Levinswap have?

Total value locked is roughly $80,000 according to the data reviewed, which is small for a DEX. That means slippage can be high on larger swaps, and you should check price impact before confirming any trade.

Is Levinswap safe?

The data lists three audits, but the reviewed sources do not detail who performed them or what they found. Any DEX carries smart-contract risk, and a small protocol with low liquidity adds price and exit risk, so only use funds you can afford to lose.

What can I do on Levinswap?

The interface has Swap, Pool, Farm and Stake sections plus shortcuts to add the token to MetaMask and buy xDai. Always confirm you are on the correct official domain before connecting a wallet, as the interface itself warns.
