8.0/10
Excellent
Our verdict on Envio
8.0/10Envio suits developers, data analysts and protocol teams that need real-time or historical onchain data and have outgrown slow indexers or raw RPC calls. Its main strengths are fast bulk data access through HyperSync, broad chain coverage and hosted tooling with migration help. The main caveat is that performance and uptime claims come from Envio itself and pricing is not detailed on the homepage, so teams should run a trial and request a quote before committing production workloads.

What is Envio?
Envio is a blockchain data platform for developers. Its main products are HyperIndex, which turns contract activity into a live API, and HyperSync, which delivers raw logs, transactions and blocks faster than ordinary RPC calls.
The homepage lists support for 81+ chains including Solana, and names users such as Curve, Sablier, Aerodrome, Gnosis and Revert Finance in its customer showcase. It also reports 2,000+ developers building on it each month and 40B+ requests served monthly. These are the project's own figures.
Envio also pitches itself to AI agent builders, with an agent-oriented CLI, an AGENTS.md file, 17 agent skills in each new indexer and a docs MCP server. An ready-to-use Envio APIs product is listed as coming soon.
How Envio works
A blockchain indexer reads events and transactions from a chain, organises them in a database and exposes them through an API. Apps use this because querying a node directly for historical data is slow and awkward.
Envio's HyperIndex lets developers define which contracts and events to track. It backfills history, then follows new blocks in real time, handling chain reorganisations automatically. The output is queryable through GraphQL on Postgres, and Dedicated plans add a ClickHouse option with SQL access for analysts.
Underneath sits HyperSync, a data layer that bypasses standard JSON-RPC to deliver raw blockchain data in bulk. HyperIndex uses it by default, and it can also be used on its own from JavaScript, Python or Rust. HyperRPC offers a drop-in RPC alternative for heavy read calls.
8 features
Key features
01
HyperIndex indexing
Turns EVM contracts and Solana programs into an API, backfilled with history and kept live afterwards. Data is served through GraphQL on Postgres.
02
HyperSync raw data
Serves raw logs, transactions and blocks faster than standard RPC. Envio reports a 0 s median lag behind public RPCs and 6.6 ms p95 response time.
03
Solana HyperSync
A newly announced HyperSync variant for querying Solana transactions, instructions and account activity.
04
HyperRPC
A drop-in RPC endpoint aimed at data-heavy reads such as eth_getLogs, so existing code can use it with little change.
05
Envio Cloud hosting
Managed hosting with git-based deploys, monitoring and alerts. Envio reports automatic reorg handling, with 34,000+ reorgs handled in the last 30 days.
06
Subgraph hosting and migration
Envio runs your existing subgraphs while you keep your queries, and offers migration help to move indexers onto its own framework.
07
Multichain indexers
Aggregates data across many networks into one database and one GraphQL API, as shown in a customer case merging 36 subgraphs into 3 indexers.
08
Enterprise options
Offers an enterprise tier with up to 99.99% SLA on Dedicated, multi-region failover, 24/7 engineer support and direct SQL access via ClickHouse.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Wide chain coverage, with 81+ chains supported including Solana.
- HyperSync gives much faster bulk data access than standard RPC, according to Envio's published latency figures.
- Named customer case studies include a PancakeSwap V3 subgraph synced in 10 days after being stuck for two years elsewhere.
- Offers hosting, migration help and enterprise SLAs, so teams can go from prototype to production.
- Open benchmarks against other indexers and a no-code playground let users check claims.
- Zero egress cost is advertised.
Watch out for
- Pricing is not detailed on the homepage; users must check the pricing page or contact sales to learn costs.
- Headline performance and uptime figures are published by Envio itself and are not independently verified here.
- The ready-made Envio APIs product is listed as coming soon, so it cannot be relied on yet.
- Switching from an existing subgraph setup means rewriting or migrating indexer logic, which takes effort.
- Dedicated plans with direct SQL access and the highest SLA are enterprise-oriented and likely cost more than self-serve tiers.
- No audit reports or team details are given on the homepage, so trust rests on customer references.
Envio fees
Envio does not list specific prices on its homepage. It offers a free trial and links to a separate pricing page, and enterprise plans go through a sales contact. Users should check that page for current tiers.
The site does state zero egress cost, which matters for teams moving large volumes of data. Costs for hosted indexers, dedicated infrastructure and the SLA tiers are not published in the material reviewed, so budget estimates need a direct quote.
Is Envio safe?
Envio is a data and infrastructure service, so it does not hold user funds. The main risks are operational: uptime, data correctness and dependence on a single vendor for production data. The homepage reports 99.99%+ HyperSync uptime over the last 30 days and up to 99.99% SLA on Dedicated plans, but these are self-reported.
The homepage does not publish audit reports, team details or incident history. The core HyperIndex code is on GitHub, which lets teams inspect it. Teams with critical workloads should confirm SLA terms in writing and plan for failover.
6 steps
How to get started with Envio
- 1
Decide whether you need an API (HyperIndex) or raw data access (HyperSync or HyperRPC).
- 2
Read the docs and try the free option, or query live chain data in the HyperSync playground without writing code.
- 3
For HyperIndex, start from a template such as ERC-20 or use Contract Import to generate project boilerplate from your contract.
- 4
Write event handlers in JavaScript, TypeScript or ReScript and run the indexer locally.
- 5
Deploy to Envio Cloud through git, then set up monitoring and alerts.
- 6
If you already run subgraphs, ask about subgraph hosting or migration, and contact sales if you need an SLA or SQL access.
Who Envio is for
Envio is for developers building dApps that need custom APIs, analysts pulling large datasets into Python or SQL pipelines, and teams running subgraphs that want faster syncing. It also fits enterprises needing SLAs and AI agent builders who need reliable onchain data. Casual crypto users have no direct use for it.
Envio FAQs
What is Envio?
Envio is a blockchain data platform. It indexes smart contract events from EVM chains and Solana into queryable APIs, and it also sells fast access to raw logs, transactions and blocks. Developers, analysts and AI agent builders are the main users.
What is HyperIndex?
HyperIndex is Envio's indexing framework. You point it at contracts, define how events map to data, and it backfills history and keeps the data current. The result is exposed through a GraphQL API on Postgres.
What is HyperSync and how is it different from RPC?
HyperSync is a data query layer that serves raw logs, transactions and blocks much faster than standard JSON-RPC calls. Envio says it covers 81+ chains and reports a 6.6 ms p95 response time. It can be used on its own for analytics or as the default data source inside HyperIndex.
How much does Envio cost?
Envio does not state a fee schedule on its homepage beyond a free trial option and a separate pricing page. It also advertises zero egress cost. Check the pricing page or contact sales for current plans.
Can I migrate from a subgraph to Envio?
The homepage says Envio can migrate existing subgraphs and indexers, and it also offers subgraph hosting where Envio runs your subgraphs and you keep your queries. Customer stories describe consolidating dozens of subgraphs into a few multichain indexers.
What languages does Envio support?
Third-party documentation says indexers can be written in JavaScript, TypeScript or ReScript. HyperSync clients are available for JavaScript, Python and Rust, with output in JSON, Arrow or Parquet.
Does Envio have a token?
Envio has no token mentioned on its homepage. It is a developer infrastructure service, not a trading or yield product.
