Our verdict on Kodiak V2

5.5/10

Kodiak V2 suits Berachain users who want a simple swap and liquidity venue built on the familiar Uniswap V2 model. Its strengths are that design, a listed pair of audits and the backing of a wider Kodiak project with a token. The main caveat is size: roughly $174,000 in TVL and a recent decline mean high price impact on larger trades and limited depth for liquidity providers. Check fees and audit reports before committing funds.

What is Kodiak V2?

Kodiak V2 is a decentralized exchange on Berachain, described as a Uniswap V2 fork. Its homepage offers two things: swapping tokens and providing liquidity on Berachain through the Kodiak interface.

It belongs to the wider Kodiak Finance project, which presents itself as a liquidity hub on Berachain. The project has a token, KDK, and has been tracked since February 2025. One funding-tracker listing reports a Series A round in December 2025, which is a single-source claim. The project's account has also announced a perpetuals product with up to 100x leverage, separate from V2.

The V2 pools are small. Total value locked is about $174,000, and it fell roughly 22.5% in a week. That matters for anyone planning larger trades or deposits.

How Kodiak V2 works

Kodiak V2 is built like Uniswap V2. Each pool holds two tokens, and a formula keeps the product of the two balances constant. When you buy one token, you add the other to the pool and the price shifts along that curve.

Liquidity providers deposit both tokens in a pool and receive a receipt token for their share. Trading fees accrue to the pool, so providers earn when volume is high. The risk is impermanent loss: if the relative price of the two tokens moves, providers can end up with less value than if they had simply held.

All of this runs through smart contracts on Berachain. There is no order book or custodian. The user's wallet signs each action and funds move directly between the wallet and the contracts.

03

Uniswap V2 design

The design follows Uniswap V2's constant-product approach, which is simple and widely understood.

04

Berachain native

Built for Berachain, so pools and swaps are tied to that network's tokens and ecosystem.

Listed audits

Two audits are listed for the project in public tracking data.

Wider Kodiak ecosystem

Part of the wider Kodiak platform, which describes itself as a liquidity hub on Berachain.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Uses the well-known Uniswap V2 model, so the mechanics are easy to understand.
  • Two audits are listed for the project.
  • Part of an established Berachain project with a token and wider product set.
  • Offers both swapping and liquidity provision in one interface.
  • Non-custodial: funds stay in the user's wallet until they interact with a pool.

Watch out for

  • TVL is about $174,000, which is thin and means large trades can move prices sharply.
  • TVL fell about 22.5% over the past 7 days, a sign of shrinking liquidity.
  • Runs only on Berachain, so it depends on that chain's health and bridges.
  • The swap fee and any liquidity-provider fee split are not published on the homepage.
  • Impermanent loss is built into V2-style pools, and small pools make it harder to offset with fees.
  • The audit reports are listed but their scope and findings are not summarised on the homepage.

Kodiak V2 fees

The swap fee and the share paid to liquidity providers are not published on the homepage or in the information available. In a V2-style pool, a percentage of each trade is charged and normally goes to liquidity providers, but the exact rate on Kodiak V2 should be confirmed in the interface.

Users also pay Berachain network gas fees on every swap, deposit and withdrawal. Price impact and slippage matter more here than the headline fee, because pool depth is small.

Is Kodiak V2 safe?

Two audits are listed for Kodiak V2, but the auditors, scope and findings are not summarised in the information available. Users should read the reports before depositing. As a V2-style fork, the core logic is long established, which lowers some code risk, though forks can still carry integration or deployment issues.

Main risks are smart-contract risk, impermanent loss, thin liquidity and dependence on Berachain. The project does not publish licensing or regulatory details on its homepage. DeFi trading carries risk of total loss; only use funds you can afford to lose, and check that using such services is legal where you live.

  6. 6

To provide liquidity, pick a pool, deposit both tokens and review impermanent loss risk first.

Who Kodiak V2 is for

Kodiak V2 is for users already active on Berachain who want to swap tokens or add liquidity to simple two-token pools. It is less suited to large traders who need deep liquidity, or to anyone who wants concentrated-liquidity tools or fee details spelled out up front.

Kodiak V2 FAQs

What is Kodiak V2?

Kodiak V2 is a decentralized exchange on Berachain. It is described as a Uniswap V2 fork, so users swap tokens against liquidity pools or add their own tokens to those pools.

Which blockchain does Kodiak V2 use?

Kodiak V2 runs on Berachain. Users need a wallet connected to that network and some BERA for gas to use it.

Does Kodiak have a token?

KDK is the token linked to Kodiak. The project does not detail its utility for the V2 product specifically, so check the official documentation before relying on any token feature.

Has Kodiak V2 been audited?

Two audits are listed for the project, which is a positive sign. Audits do not remove risk, and the V2 contracts handle user funds directly, so only commit what you can afford to lose.

What fees does Kodiak V2 charge?

The swap fee and the liquidity-provider share are not published on the homepage. Fees are shown in the swap interface and on each pool page before you confirm a transaction.

Is Kodiak only a swap venue?

Kodiak has also promoted a perpetuals product with leverage of up to 100x, according to a post from its official account. That is separate from the V2 swap and pool contracts covered here.
