Etherex CL Review 2026: Concentrated Liquidity on Linea

Etherex CL is a concentrated liquidity exchange on the Linea network that uses an x(3,3) incentive model. It is a niche, young DEX with small liquidity, so it suits experienced DeFi users more than beginners.

Our verdict on Etherex CL

6.2/10

Etherex CL is a concentrated liquidity DEX on Linea with an x(3,3) incentive model and a stated Consensys backing. It suits experienced DeFi users who already use Linea and understand liquidity ranges, voting-based rewards and impermanent loss. Its main strength is a focused design for the Linea ecosystem. The main caveat is size: TVL under 1 million USD, thin REX trading and a short track record mean slippage, volatile rewards and higher protocol risk.

What is Etherex CL?

Etherex CL is a decentralized exchange built on Linea, the Ethereum layer-2 network. It focuses on concentrated liquidity and describes itself as a concentrated liquidity layer and exchange. The homepage calls it the flagship concentrated liquidity exchange on Linea and says it is backed by Consensys.

Its distinguishing feature is the x(3,3) model, a variation on the ve(3,3) design used by several DEXs to direct token rewards. Its native token is REX, and a liquid staking token called REX33 shows up in market listings. The protocol has been tracked since late July 2025.

Scale is modest. Total value locked is about 737,000 USD, down roughly 6% over the latest seven-day window, and market listings show very low REX trading volume. Two audits are listed, but the homepage does not name the auditors or publish reports.

How Etherex CL works

Etherex is an automated market maker, which means trades happen against pools of tokens rather than an order book. In a concentrated liquidity pool, liquidity providers choose a price range to deposit into. Inside that range their capital works harder and earns more swap fees, but if the price moves out of range the position stops earning and can end up mostly in one asset.

The protocol layers an incentive system on top, which it calls metaDEX x(3,3). It is described as a more fluid and accessible version of the ve(3,3) model. In the classic ve(3,3) design, holders lock a token to gain voting power, vote on which pools receive token emissions, and receive a share of trading fees. The aim is to align liquidity, traders and token holders.

The project's own documentation holds the exact details of how REX is staked, how voting works and how emissions are paid. Those mechanics can change reward rates quickly, so early high yields should not be treated as stable.

6 features

Key features

01

Concentrated liquidity pools

Liquidity providers choose a price range for their capital instead of spreading it across all prices. This can raise capital efficiency but requires active range management.

02

x(3,3) tokenomics

The protocol uses a metaDEX x(3,3) model, which it describes as a more fluid and accessible take on ve(3,3), to steer incentives toward liquidity.

03

Spot trading on Linea

Users can swap tokens directly on the exchange, which is built for the Linea network.

04

REX token and REX33

REX is the project's token, used in its incentive and governance-style model. A liquid staking token called REX33 also appears in market listings.

05

Audits listed

Two audits are listed for the protocol, although the homepage does not name the auditors.

06

Consensys backing claim

The homepage states the project is backed by Consensys, which links it to the Linea ecosystem.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Focused on concentrated liquidity, which can use capital more efficiently than full-range pools.
  • Native to Linea, so it plugs into an Ethereum layer-2 ecosystem with lower gas than mainnet.
  • The homepage states Consensys backing, which gives it ties to the Linea ecosystem.
  • Two audits are listed for the protocol.
  • The x(3,3) model aims to make the ve(3,3) approach more fluid and accessible for users.

Watch out for

  • On-chain liquidity is small, at roughly 737,000 USD in TVL, so larger trades may see heavy slippage.
  • TVL fell about 6% over the latest seven-day window, and market listings show very thin trading volume for the REX token.
  • The protocol launched in mid-2025, so it has a short track record compared with older DEXs.
  • Only one chain is supported, so users depend on Linea's bridges, liquidity and wallet support.
  • X(3,3) and ve(3,3)-style models can be hard for newcomers to follow, and reward rates can swing sharply when emissions change.
  • Fee tiers, audit firms and team details are not clearly published on the homepage.

Etherex CL fees

Etherex does not publish a fee schedule on its homepage. As with most concentrated liquidity DEXs, you can expect each pool to carry a swap fee that goes mainly to liquidity providers, but the exact tiers and any protocol share are not stated.

On top of swap fees, you pay Linea network gas in ETH for each transaction. Slippage is another real cost, and with TVL under 1 million USD, price impact on larger swaps can be significant. Check the fee and estimated price impact in the app before you confirm.

Is Etherex CL safe?

Two audits are listed for Etherex, but the homepage does not name the firms or link findings, so users should look for the full reports before depositing. The exchange is non-custodial in the usual DEX sense, meaning you keep your keys, but your funds in pools are exposed to smart-contract bugs, oracle or economic design flaws, and impermanent loss.

The project is young and small, which raises risk. Incentive-heavy tokenomics can produce temporary high yields that fade as emissions or token prices change. The team, licensing and regulatory status are not published on the homepage. Check that DeFi use is permitted where you live, and never deposit more than you can afford to lose.

6 steps

How to get started with Etherex CL

  1. 1

Set up a wallet that supports Linea and confirm you are on the official Etherex site before connecting.

  2. 2

Bridge ETH or other assets to Linea and keep a little ETH for gas.

  3. 3

Connect the wallet and start with a small swap to see the quoted fee and price impact.

  4. 4

If you want to provide liquidity, read the pool details and choose a price range, understanding the impermanent loss risk.

  5. 5

Review how REX rewards, voting and staking work in the project's documentation before locking or staking tokens.

  6. 6

Monitor your positions, since concentrated ranges can fall out of range and stop earning fees.

Who Etherex CL is for

Etherex suits DeFi users already active on Linea who want to trade or provide concentrated liquidity and are comfortable with incentive-driven token models. It is a poor fit for beginners, for people who need deep liquidity for large trades, and for anyone who wants a long-established protocol.

Etherex CL FAQs

What is Etherex?

Etherex is a decentralized exchange on the Linea network. It offers token trading and concentrated liquidity provision, and it uses a token model called x(3,3) to direct rewards. The project's native token is REX.

Which blockchain does Etherex run on?

The project is listed on one chain only, Linea. You need a wallet that supports Linea and some ETH on that network to pay gas fees.

What does x(3,3) mean?

x(3,3) is described by the project as a more fluid and accessible version of the ve(3,3) model. In ve(3,3) systems, token holders lock tokens to vote on where rewards go. The x(3,3) variant is meant to reduce the rigidity of those locks. Exact mechanics are set out in the project's own documentation.

Is Etherex backed by Consensys?

The homepage presents Etherex as backed by Consensys, the company behind Linea. The project does not publish further detail on the nature of that backing on its landing page, so check its official channels for specifics.

Is Etherex audited and safe?

The data lists two audits for the protocol, but audit firm names and reports are not shown on the homepage. Even audited contracts carry risk, particularly for a young protocol with small liquidity, so only commit funds you can afford to lose.

What are the fees on Etherex?

Concentrated liquidity DEXs usually charge a swap fee that depends on the pool's fee tier. Etherex does not publish a fee table on its homepage, so check the fee shown on each pool in the app before trading or providing liquidity.
