ActiveDymension DEX Review 2026: The Swap Hub for RollApp Tokens
Dymension DEX is the built-in exchange on the Dymension Hub, used to trade RollApp tokens and IBC assets and to provide liquidity. It is closely tied to the ecosystem and its liquidity is currently small.

Our verdict on Dymension DEX
5.8/10Dymension DEX suits users already active in the Dymension ecosystem who want to trade RollApp tokens, take part in IROs or provide liquidity against DYM or USDC. Its main strength is tight integration with the Hub, IBC and community-governed base assets. The main caveat is size: liquidity is small, no audits are listed and fees are not published, so slippage and smart-contract risk are real. Others will find deeper liquidity on larger exchanges.

What is Dymension DEX?
Dymension DEX is the decentralized exchange on the Dymension Hub, accessed through the Dymension Portal app. The portal also covers RollApps and IBC transfers, so the DEX is one part of a wider interface for the network.
Its role is to give RollApp tokens and IBC assets a place to trade. Governance proposals have added USDC as a base asset, and Season 2 incentives have encouraged users to bridge USDC from Solana, Arbitrum or Base and to supply liquidity.
Liquidity is modest. The DEX holds roughly $141,000 in total value locked, down about 7.8% over seven days, and it has been listed since August 2024. It is best seen as infrastructure for the Dymension ecosystem rather than a deep trading venue.
How Dymension DEX works
Dymension is a network of modular blockchains called RollApps, settled on a central chain called the Dymension Hub. The DEX runs on the Hub, so tokens from RollApps and assets bridged over IBC can meet in one place. Trading uses liquidity pools, where users deposit pairs of tokens and swaps are priced against the pool balance.
Every pool pairs a token against a base asset. DYM was the original base asset, and governance later approved adding USDC to reduce the complexity of creating a pool. A further proposal suggested whitelisting Kaspa, which shows the list is changed by community vote.
The DEX is also linked to token launches. Initial RollApp Offerings, or IROs, are how new RollApp tokens are first sold, and they connect to the liquidity side of the exchange. Ecosystem incentive programs have rewarded actions such as bridging USDC, trading IROs and supplying liquidity.
6 features
Key features
01
Native Hub swaps
Swap tokens directly on the Dymension Hub through the Portal app, including tokens that originate on RollApps.
02
Base asset pairing
Pools can be created and funded with base assets such as DYM and, following a May 2025 governance vote, USDC.
03
IRO launches
Initial RollApp Offerings let new RollApp tokens launch against a base asset, tying token launches to DEX liquidity.
04
IBC asset support
Assets moved in over IBC can be traded alongside RollApp tokens in the same interface.
05
Liquidity provision
Users can supply liquidity to pools, which the ecosystem has also linked to incentive programs and endorsement yield.
06
Governance-led listings
Adding new base assets goes through the network's governance forum, with proposals for USDC and Kaspa visible publicly.
Pros and cons
What we like
- Native to the Dymension Hub, so RollApp tokens and IBC assets trade in one interface
- USDC was approved as a base asset in May 2025, which lowers the barrier to creating pools
- Base asset additions run through public governance proposals
- Connects directly to IRO token launches and ecosystem incentive programs
- No separate DEX token is needed to use the exchange
Watch out for
- Total value locked is small, about $141,000, so larger swaps can move prices a lot
- Liquidity fell roughly 7.8% in the past week, which shows how quickly a thin pool base can shift
- No audits are listed for the DEX, and the project does not publish audit details on the portal page
- Pools tend to hold young RollApp tokens, which are volatile and sometimes illiquid
- Swap and pool fee levels are not published in the material reviewed
- Only works with the Dymension ecosystem, so it is not a general-purpose exchange for major chains
Dymension DEX fees
The swap fee, pool fee split and any protocol take are not published in the material reviewed. Users would see the fee on the swap screen in the Portal app before confirming a trade.
Beyond trading fees, expect network gas costs on the Dymension Hub and bridge or IBC transfer costs when moving assets in. Liquidity providers should also account for impermanent loss, which is a cost that does not appear as a fee.
Is Dymension DEX safe?
No audits are listed for the DEX, and the project's portal page does not publish audit reports, team details or a bug bounty. Trades run on-chain and users keep custody of their own wallets, but they depend on the Hub's smart modules and any bridges they use.
Small pools and young RollApp tokens raise price manipulation and liquidity risk. Bridging assets adds another layer of risk from the bridge itself. Treat any deposit as high risk and use amounts you can afford to lose.
6 steps
How to get started with Dymension DEX
- 1
Check that using DeFi is permitted where you live and that you understand the risks of small, volatile token pools.
- 2
Install a wallet that supports the Dymension Hub and Cosmos-style IBC networks.
- 3
Open the Dymension Portal app and connect the wallet.
- 4
Bring assets to the Hub, either by IBC transfer or by bridging USDC from another supported chain.
- 5
Use the swap page for a small test trade and read the quoted price impact and fee before confirming.
- 6
If you want to provide liquidity, review the pool's tokens and base asset first, since a thin pool can lose value quickly.
Who Dymension DEX is for
Dymension DEX is for people already using the Dymension Hub or RollApps, such as those joining IROs, tracking ecosystem incentives or trading RollApp tokens. It is less suited to traders who need deep liquidity, a broad token list or a long audit record.
Dymension DEX FAQs
What is Dymension DEX?
It is the decentralized exchange built into the Dymension Hub and reached through the Dymension Portal app. It lets users swap tokens and provide liquidity, including tokens from RollApps and assets that arrive over IBC.
Does Dymension DEX have its own token?
Dymension DEX has no token of its own. The wider network has the DYM token, which is used as a base asset for pools and appears in staking and incentive programs.
What is a base asset on Dymension DEX?
A base asset is the token a new pool must be paired against. DYM was originally required. A governance proposal to add USDC was approved in May 2025, and another proposal suggested adding Kaspa. The goal is to make pool creation simpler.
How do I earn from Dymension DEX?
Providing liquidity means depositing tokens into a pool so others can swap against it. Liquidity providers earn a share of trading activity, but they carry impermanent loss and the price risk of the tokens they hold.
Is Dymension DEX audited?
The project does not list any audits for the DEX in the material reviewed. As with any DeFi protocol, smart-contract and chain-level risk remain, so only commit what you can afford to lose.
What are the fees?
The fee schedule is not published on the portal homepage. Fees are shown in the swap interface at the time of a trade, along with network gas costs.
