3Jane Lending Review 2026: Credit-Backed USD3 Yield

3Jane is an Ethereum credit protocol that issues USD3, a yield-bearing dollar token funded by USDC deposits and lent out to fintechs and crypto-native borrowers without full collateral. Yields look attractive, but returns depend on borrower credit rather than posted collateral.

Our verdict on 3Jane Lending

7.0/10

3Jane suits experienced DeFi users who want exposure to credit yield and understand that returns come from borrower repayment, not collateral. Its main strength is a clear two-tier design, USD3 for the base pool and sUSD3 for levered returns, with fintech-scale credit facilities behind it. The main caveat is that default losses fall on suppliers, the model is young, and fees, auditor names and regulatory details are not published. Treat advertised APYs as variable and size positions accordingly.

What is 3Jane Lending?

3Jane is a credit-based money market on Ethereum. It began as a way to extend uncollateralized USDC credit lines to crypto-natives and now describes itself as providing programmable credit facilities for fintech lenders.

The supply side centres on USD3, a credit-backed yieldcoin minted by depositing USDC, and sUSD3, its staked version with levered exposure. The homepage compares these with Aave aUSDC at about 4% and Ethena sUSDe at about 7%, against 15-20% for sUSD3. These are the project's own figures and can move.

A DeFi data tracker lists about $11.2 million in total value locked, an Ethereum-only deployment and two audits. The protocol launched in the tracker in September 2025. The homepage says it is backed by investors, and one news item names Paradigm, Coinbase Ventures and Wintermute Ventures.

The key difference from most DeFi lending is the risk. Returns depend on borrowers repaying, not on liquidating collateral.

How 3Jane Lending works

Suppliers deposit USDC into the 3Jane protocol and receive USD3. The pool then funds credit facilities for borrowers, such as warehouse lines, forward-flow programs and credit lines. Interest from these loans is what pays the USD3 yield.

Staking USD3 gives sUSD3, which the project describes as levered exposure to the pool. In practice this tier takes more of the credit risk and earns a higher advertised rate. Yield is auto-compounded.

Borrowers are underwritten on creditworthiness instead of posted collateral. Type 1 borrowers connect credit, DeFi, exchange and bank data to receive a line of credit. Type 2 borrowers sell a loan portfolio or collateralize it through an SPV. This is a peer-to-pool design: lenders share a pool instead of matching with one borrower.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Offers yield from real credit activity instead of only crypto collateral loops.
  • Two-tier structure lets suppliers choose between USD3 and higher-risk sUSD3.
  • Backed by named investors according to a news report, and two audits are listed by a data tracker.
  • Clear explanation of the borrower types and facility sizes.
  • Runs on Ethereum with USDC, a widely supported stablecoin.

Watch out for

  • Yields are variable and the higher sUSD3 rate comes from levered exposure to the credit pool, so losses on defaults would hit sUSD3 holders first.
  • Underwriting relies on off-chain and bank data, so repayment depends on borrower behaviour and legal enforcement that on-chain code cannot guarantee.
  • The project does not publish a detailed fee schedule on its homepage.
  • Borrower access is aimed at fintech lenders with $5m to $200m facilities, so ordinary retail users cannot borrow.
  • The model is newer and less battle-tested than collateralized lending protocols.
  • Auditor names, team details and licensing or regulatory status are not stated on the homepage.

3Jane Lending fees

3Jane does not publish a full fee schedule on its homepage. It shows variable supply yields of about 6.30% for USD3 and 13.23% for sUSD3, and describes upwards of 10% USD APY in commitment fees for Levered Callable Capital.

Borrower pricing, protocol fees and any performance or withdrawal charges are not stated. Users would see these in the project's documentation and in the app before depositing. Ethereum gas costs also apply to deposits and withdrawals.

Is 3Jane Lending safe?

A DeFi data tracker lists two audits for 3Jane, but the homepage does not name the auditors, and audits do not remove risk. Smart-contract bugs, oracle or integration issues and borrower defaults are all possible.

The larger risk is credit risk. Loans are underwritten against credit and bank data, so losses are borne by the pool, with sUSD3 holders in the more exposed position. The project publishes terms, disclaimers and reports pages, and users should read them before depositing. Regulatory status and team details are not stated on the homepage.

6 steps

How to get started with 3Jane Lending

  1. 1

Read the documentation, disclaimers and terms of service on the official site to understand credit risk and eligibility.

  2. 2

Decide whether you want USD3 for steadier yield or sUSD3 for levered exposure.

  3. 3

Connect an Ethereum wallet holding USDC and enough ETH for gas.

  4. 4

Deposit USDC to mint USD3, then optionally stake it to receive sUSD3.

  5. 5

Monitor the displayed APY, pool updates and reports, as rates are variable.

  6. 6

Borrowers such as fintech lenders should use the Get Access route and expect an underwriting process.

Who 3Jane Lending is for

3Jane suits DeFi users comfortable with credit risk who want yield beyond collateralized lending, and fintech lenders seeking large programmable credit facilities. It is less suited to beginners or anyone who needs principal protection.

3Jane Lending FAQs

What is 3Jane?

3Jane is a credit-based money market on Ethereum. Suppliers deposit USDC to mint USD3, and the pool extends uncollateralized or credit-underwritten USDC lines to fintech lenders and crypto-native borrowers.

What is USD3?

USD3 is a credit-backed yield-bearing token minted by depositing USDC. Its yield comes from warehouse facilities, forward-flow programs and credit lines. The homepage showed about 6.30% APY at the time of writing, and rates can change.

What is sUSD3 and why does it yield more?

sUSD3 is staked USD3. The project describes it as levered exposure to the pool, with a displayed APY of about 13.23%. Higher yield comes with higher risk, since it sits in a riskier position if borrowers default.

Is 3Jane really uncollateralized?

Not in the usual sense. 3Jane lends based on creditworthiness, using verifiable data such as crypto, DeFi, exchange and bank information, instead of requiring more collateral than the loan. Some structures, such as SPVs for loan portfolios, can still involve collateral.

Who can borrow from 3Jane?

The homepage describes borrowers as fintech lenders and crypto-natives. Fintechs can access $5m to $200m through warehouse lines, participations and forward flows. Individual borrowing terms are not published in detail.

Is 3Jane safe?

No. Two audits are listed by a DeFi data tracker, but any lending protocol carries smart-contract and credit risk. Only deposit what you can afford to lose and read the project's disclaimers.

Does 3Jane have a token?

The homepage mentions a referral programme paying JANE, but no live token is listed by the data tracker. Check the project's official channels for current details.
