What BORG is
BORG is the utility and loyalty token of SwissBorg, a crypto management app aimed at retail users. The app was launched in Switzerland in 2017 and has since grown into a European platform. It covers buying and selling crypto with fiat, exchanging assets, earning yield, buying bundles of coins and joining early-stage investment offers.
BORG is the token that ties these services together. Holding it inside the app unlocks extra features, and the amount a user holds affects which benefits they can access. It is not a general-purpose payment coin, and it does not run its own blockchain. It exists as a token on existing networks, and its value is closely connected to how many people use the SwissBorg app.
On our site, SwissBorg is listed as a centralized exchange-type product, described as a MiCA-regulated European app that aggregates exchanges for trading. BORG is its loyalty token. As with any custodial platform, using the app means trusting the company to hold and manage your assets.
What the token is used for
According to the project description, BORG unlocks additional utilities within the SwissBorg app. The more BORG a user holds in the app, the more benefits they can reach, either through Premium Tiers or through one-off campaigns.
The benefits listed include:
- Lower fees when exchanging crypto
- Larger allocations in the app's launchpad offers
- Higher yield on certain Earn strategies
- More voting power in referendums that SwissBorg puts to its community
The app itself includes an on and off ramp, a tool that aggregates centralized and decentralized exchange liquidity (called MEX), Earn for staking and passive income, Thematics for themed crypto bundles, and Alpha Early Deals for launchpad-style opportunities. The project also says it passes airdrops directly to users when they occur.
The voting rights relate to referendums run by the company, so they should not be confused with on-chain governance of a decentralized protocol. The details and thresholds of tiers can change, so check the current rules in the app.
Supply and tokenomics
BORG has a maximum supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens. At the time of writing, about 981 million were circulating, and the total supply matched that figure. Because nearly the whole maximum supply is already out, the fully diluted valuation is about the same as the market cap, roughly $149.7M as of 2026-11-05.
The token launched in November 2017. The ICO ran from 7 December 2017 to 10 January 2018 and raised about $50 million, according to the project. In the first quarter of 2023, SwissBorg ran a Series A in which 16,660 individual investors put in more than 21 million Swiss francs.
Public sources provided do not give a detailed allocation breakdown or an emission schedule, so we do not describe the split between team, investors and the community. Anyone wanting that detail should read the project's own documentation. Token supply and burn or buyback policies, if any, may have changed over time.
Chains and how it is held or traded
BORG is issued on Ethereum and Solana. It is not the native coin of any blockchain. Ethereum is where the token originated, and a Solana version gives holders another network to use for transfers and wallets.
Most people meet BORG through the SwissBorg app, where it can be bought, held and used to qualify for benefits. It may also be listed on other exchanges and, as a token on Ethereum or Solana, can be held in compatible self-custody wallets. Availability varies by region and by platform.
As of 2026-11-05, BORG ranked around 206th by market cap, with a price near $0.15. Reported 24-hour trading volume was only about $228,674, which is low compared with its market cap. That points to thin liquidity on outside venues, so larger orders could move the price noticeably. Confirm which network a deposit address uses before sending tokens, since sending to the wrong chain can cause permanent loss.
History and notable events
BORG reached an all-time high of about $1.64 on 4 May 2021, during that year's crypto market peak. Its all-time low was about $0.005 on 27 July 2019. At the time of writing, the price was well below the 2021 high, and the one-year change was about -52%, while the seven-day move was roughly flat at about +0.5%.
The project began in the ICO era of 2017 and says it passed 1 million registered users in 2024. The 2023 Series A is another notable event, since it brought in funds from a large number of small and large investors.
On the regulatory side, our project profile describes SwissBorg as MiCA-regulated, which relates to the European Union's crypto-asset rules. Check the current status of authorisations and which services are available in your country, because they depend on where you live.
Risks
BORG carries several risks that readers should weigh for themselves.
- Platform dependence. Much of the token's usefulness depends on the SwissBorg app. If the company changes its tiers, benefits or fees, the value of holding BORG can change with them.
- Custodial risk. Assets held inside the app are under the company's control. Outages, hacks, insolvency or regulatory action could affect access.
- Liquidity. Low trading volume relative to market cap can mean wide spreads and price swings.
- Price volatility. The token fell sharply from its 2021 peak and has lost about half its value over the past year.
- Regulatory change. Rules for crypto platforms keep evolving, and features may be limited or withdrawn in some countries.
- Governance limits. Voting happens in company-run referendums, not through a decentralized process.
This page is not financial advice, and nothing here predicts prices.
How to store BORG safely
There are two broad ways to hold BORG. Keeping it in the SwissBorg app is convenient and is required to receive the in-app benefits, but you rely on the company for custody. Use a strong unique password, turn on two-factor authentication, and watch for phishing messages that imitate the app.
For self-custody, move BORG to a wallet that supports the network you chose, either Ethereum or Solana. A hardware wallet adds protection against malware. Write your recovery phrase down offline and never share it or type it into a website.
Before any transfer, send a small test amount first and double-check the network and address. Be wary of fake tokens with the same name, and verify the contract address from the project's official documentation. Remember that tokens held in a private wallet do not count toward in-app tier benefits unless they are deposited into the app.
By the numbers
SwissBorg in numbers
SwissBorg (BORG) is ranked #205 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $146M and a price of $0.1490 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation ($146M) is close to its market cap, so little new supply is still to come.
The price was down 2.2% over 7 days, down 14.3% over 30 days, down 57.0% over the past year. It trades about 91% below its all-time high of $1.64, set on May 4, 2021.
About 981.05M BORG are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (98% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $259K, or 0.2% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
BORG has token contracts on 2 chains we track, including Ethereum, Solana. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
BORG is linked to SwissBorg, which we cover in our Centralized Exchanges rankings. See our SwissBorg page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

BORG FAQs
What is BORG used for?
BORG is the utility token of the SwissBorg app. Holding it in the app can unlock Premium Tiers and campaigns with perks such as lower exchange fees, bigger launchpad allocations, higher Earn yields and more voting power in company referendums.
What is the supply of BORG?
The maximum supply is 1,000,000,000 BORG. At the time of writing, about 981 million were in circulation, so most of the supply is already out.
Which blockchains is BORG on?
BORG is issued on Ethereum and Solana. It is a token on those networks and does not have its own blockchain.
Who created SwissBorg and when?
SwissBorg began in Switzerland in 2017. Its ICO ran from 7 December 2017 to 10 January 2018 and raised about $50 million, according to the project.
Will the BORG price go up?
No one can say. As of 2026-11-05, BORG was priced near $0.15, about 52% lower than a year earlier and well under its 2021 high of about $1.64. This page does not give price predictions or buy and sell advice.
Can I keep BORG in my own wallet?
Tokens in the app are held under the company's custody, which adds platform risk. Self-custody in a wallet that supports Ethereum or Solana gives you control of the keys, but you lose the in-app benefits unless you deposit the tokens back.
