What Bedrock (BR) is

Bedrock (BR) is the governance token of the Bedrock ecosystem, a project best known for Bitcoin liquidity products. The best-known product is uniBTC, a multichain Bitcoin-linked token that stakes BTC into Babylon for holders who want Bitcoin yield. Our site lists Bedrock uniBTC with a score of 6.4 out of 10.

BR itself sits at the governance layer. Bedrock DAO is described as a framework for managing decisions within the ecosystem. People who hold BR can take part by locking it into a voting escrow token called veBR. The decisions on the table include protocol parameters, incentive structures and how liquidity is allocated.

BR is not the native coin of its own blockchain. It is issued as a token on several existing networks. Data providers tag it as a DeFi token, a liquid staking governance token and a BTCfi protocol token, which fits its link to Bitcoin staking products. At the time of writing it ranked around 222 by market capitalisation, which puts it in the mid-sized tier of listed tokens rather than among the largest assets.

What BR is used for

The main documented use of BR is governance through veBR. A holder locks BR at a 1:1 ratio and receives veBR in return. The longer the lock, the more voting power the position carries. veBR holders vote on proposals, including gauge allocations. Gauges decide how incentives are spread across liquidity pools, so veBR voters influence where reward emissions go.

This follows the vote-escrow model used by several other DeFi protocols. It rewards people who commit for longer periods and discourages short-term voting by holders who might leave quickly. Project announcements from early 2025 also described veBR as a way to boost staking rewards and encourage long-term holding. Reward terms can change, so check the current rules in the official Bedrock app and documentation before relying on any figure.

What the public information does not describe is BR as a payment token or a gas token. Its role is about voting and incentive direction. Locking is also a commitment. Locked BR cannot be sold or moved until the lock ends, and the exact unlock rules depend on the lock length you choose.

Supply and tokenomics

BR has a fixed maximum supply of 1 billion tokens, and the total supply is also 1 billion. About 296.7 million BR were circulating as of 2026-11-05, which is roughly 30 percent of the maximum.

That gap matters when you read valuation figures. At about $0.458 per token on that date, the market capitalisation was around $135.9 million, while the fully diluted valuation, which assumes all 1 billion tokens exist, was around $458.0 million. About 70 percent of the supply was therefore not yet in circulation, and the market cap reflects only the circulating part.

Our data does not include the allocation breakdown, such as team, investor, ecosystem and community shares, or the unlock schedule. We are not guessing those numbers. The project's official documentation is the right place to find the vesting timetable. Look at when large tranches unlock, because new supply entering the market is one of the main factors affecting a token with a low circulating share.

Chains, holding and trading

BR is issued on four networks: Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base and Berachain. All four are EVM-compatible, so any standard Ethereum-style wallet can hold the token once the right network is selected. The same ticker can appear on several chains, and they are separate token contracts. Moving BR between networks usually requires a bridge or an exchange withdrawal that supports the target chain.

On the trading side, BR is available on centralised exchanges and on decentralised exchanges. Public reporting points to a spot BR/USDT market on Bitget, among other venues. Trading volume over the previous 24 hours was around $2.1 million as of 2026-11-05. That is modest next to a fully diluted valuation near $458 million, so larger orders can move the price noticeably.

To use BR for governance, you lock it through the Bedrock app, which issues veBR to the connected wallet. Before you buy or bridge, confirm the correct contract address from the project's official channels. Fake tokens with copied names and tickers are common on every chain.

History and notable events

Our data has no confirmed launch date, but public reports place the token generation event in March 2025. That event ran through a Binance Wallet IDO, and reporting at the time said the sale aimed to raise 1.25 million USD. BR then began trading on spot markets.

The price record since then has been wide. The all-time low was about $0.039 on 2025-04-18, and the all-time high was about $1.35 on 2026-09-20. As of 2026-11-05 the price was around $0.458. That is roughly one third of the peak, yet still far above the low. The one-year change was about +506 percent, and the seven-day change was about -3 percent. These are past figures and say nothing about what comes next.

Commentary from mid-2026 describes the token as shifting from a speculative asset toward a utility role, tied to unifying Bitcoin liquidity across chains. That is the project community's framing rather than an independent finding. What can be verified is how the token is used: governance, incentives and staking boosts through veBR.

Risks to understand

Price volatility is the most visible risk. BR has fallen about two thirds from its September 2026 high, and it has also risen sharply over the past year. Moves of that size can happen in either direction.

Supply is a second risk. With only about 30 percent of the maximum supply circulating, future unlocks could add selling pressure, depending on the vesting schedule. Liquidity is a third. Daily volume of a few million dollars means a thin market for large positions.

There is also protocol risk. Bedrock's products depend on smart contracts, bridges and third-party systems such as Babylon for Bitcoin staking. A flaw in any of them could hurt users and the ecosystem the token governs. Governance has its own concentration risk, since large veBR holders can steer incentive allocation toward their own interests.

Finally, locking BR into veBR ties up your tokens. You cannot react quickly to a price drop with locked funds. This page is information, not financial advice, and it makes no price predictions.

How to store BR safely

Since BR is an ordinary EVM token, any self-custody wallet that supports Ethereum, BNB Chain, Base or Berachain can hold it. A hardware wallet adds protection because your keys stay on a separate device. Write down the recovery phrase offline and never type it into a website, a chat or a support form.

Before sending a large amount, check the token contract address against the project's official sources and send a small test transaction first. Pay attention to the network. Sending BR to an address on the wrong chain can lead to lost or hard-to-recover funds.

When you lock BR for veBR or approve a contract, you are granting permissions. Use only the official Bedrock app, bookmark it yourself, and be wary of links in direct messages or social media replies. Review and revoke token approvals you no longer need.

Leaving BR on an exchange is convenient, but you rely on the exchange's security and solvency. Governance rights through veBR need the tokens to be in a wallet you control.

By the numbers

Bedrock in numbers

Bedrock (BR) is ranked #214 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $136M and a price of $0.4594 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $459M, so roughly 30% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.

The price was down 3.8% over 7 days, down 17.3% over 30 days, up 484% over the past year. It trades about 66% below its all-time high of $1.35, set on Sep 20, 2026.

About 296.67M BR are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (30% issued).

24-hour trading volume was about $2.22M, or 1.6% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.

BR has token contracts on 4 chains we track, including BNB Chain, Berachain, Base, Ethereum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.

BR is linked to Bedrock, which we cover in our Liquid Restaking rankings. See our Bedrock page for how the protocol works and how we score it.
