What is Across Protocol (ACX)?
Across is an intent-based bridge and swap protocol for moving tokens between Ethereum, rollups and other supported networks. Its design uses relayers to fulfill transfer requests and is secured by UMA’s optimistic oracle. Across describes its model as using a shared liquidity pool and a no-slippage fee structure; those features describe the protocol, not a guarantee that every transfer will be instant or risk-free.
ACX is Across Protocol’s associated token. It is not the native token of a blockchain. ACX has been described as a governance token, while Across itself is the service used to bridge and swap assets. That distinction matters: using a bridge does not, by itself, establish that a user needs to hold ACX. Check the protocol’s current instructions before making a transfer or assuming the token is required for a particular feature.
ACX uses and a status warning
ACX has been associated with governance over Across and with incentives for liquidity providers and participants in a referral program. These stated uses may change, and they do not mean that holding ACX guarantees voting power, rewards or income. Confirm the current rules and eligibility with Across before relying on any token utility.
There is also a material status issue to check. Reports from 2026 describe a proposed change to Across’s organizational structure and a possible ACX buyout. A project-related notice also says ACX could be deprecated after January 8, 2027. Public sources do not establish the final terms or what happens to every holder. Before acquiring, transferring or using ACX, check current official Across announcements for whether the proposal went ahead, what any deadline means, and how holders are expected to respond.
Supply, chains and market snapshot
ACX has a maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. About 704.7 million were reported as circulating out of a total supply of 1 billion as of November 5, 2026. These figures can change as tokens enter circulation, so treat them as a dated snapshot rather than a live count.
The token is issued on Ethereum, Boba, Optimism, Arbitrum and Polygon; it is not native to any one of those chains. Make sure the network and token contract match the destination wallet or service before sending ACX. A market snapshot on November 5, 2026 put ACX at about $0.044 per token, with a market capitalization of about $31.2 million. Price and market value change constantly, and a quoted market price does not ensure that a trade can be completed at that price.
Risks and storing ACX
ACX carries token, market and operational risks. Governance influence or incentive programs can change, and the reported proposal and possible deprecation make it especially important to confirm the token’s current status before taking action. Its market price can fall, trading may be limited, and tokens on different networks can be confused or sent to an unsupported address.
Bridge activity has additional risks: smart-contract bugs, oracle or relayer failures, network congestion and incorrect transfer details can affect a transaction. Across’s optimistic-oracle security model does not remove those risks or guarantee recovery of funds. For self-custody, use a wallet that supports ACX on the specific network you hold it on, protect your recovery phrase offline, and verify the network and receiving address before sending. A hardware wallet may be an option if it supports the relevant network. Exchange custody has separate account and withdrawal risks.
By the numbers
Across Protocol in numbers
Across Protocol (ACX) is ranked #630 by market capitalisation, with a market cap of about $31.1M and a price of $0.0442 as of Nov 6, 2026. Its fully diluted valuation is $44.2M, so roughly 70% of the eventual supply is in circulation today; tokens still to be released could add selling pressure.
The price was up 2.5% over 7 days, up 0.1% over 30 days, down 31.2% over the past year. It trades about 97% below its all-time high of $1.69, set on Dec 6, 2024.
About 704.66M ACX are in circulation out of a maximum supply of 1B (70% issued).
24-hour trading volume was about $58.3K, or 0.2% of its market cap: low turnover, so large orders can move the price.
ACX has token contracts on 5 chains we track, including Ethereum, Boba, Optimism, Arbitrum. Always check the contract address before buying or bridging: copycat tokens often reuse a well-known name and ticker.
ACX is linked to Across, which we cover in our Cross Chain Bridge rankings. See our Across page for how the protocol works and how we score it.

ACX FAQs
What is ACX used for?
ACX has been described as a governance token for Across Protocol, with incentives also associated with liquidity providers and a referral program. Those uses may change, so confirm the current rules before assuming that holding ACX gives you a particular benefit.
Which networks support ACX?
ACX is issued on Ethereum, Boba, Optimism, Arbitrum and Polygon. It is not the native token of any of these chains, and you should check the network carefully before sending it.
What is the maximum supply of ACX?
The stated maximum supply is 1 billion ACX. About 704.7 million were reported in circulation as of November 5, 2026; circulating supply can change.
Is ACX being deprecated?
Reports in 2026 describe a proposed change to Across’s structure and a notice that ACX could be deprecated after January 8, 2027. Check current official Across announcements for the latest status and any instructions for holders.
How can I store ACX?
You can hold ACX in a wallet that supports the network on which your tokens are issued, or with a service that offers custody. Verify the network and address before transferring, and keep self-custody recovery details secure.
What is the market cap of Across Protocol?
As of Nov 6, 2026, Across Protocol had a market cap of about $31.1M, ranking #630 among cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation. Market cap is price multiplied by circulating supply, so it moves with the price.
What is the all-time high of ACX?
Across Protocol's all-time high is $1.69, reached on Dec 6, 2024. Its all-time low is $0.0312 (Feb 28, 2026). Past prices say nothing about future returns.
